Your housekeeping flyer should feature a graphic related to your business, such as a mop.
Finding the work for your business can often seem to take up more time than doing the work itself, especially if you are building up a new business. While advertising in print publications can be pricey, printing and distributing your own flyers can help you drum up new clients while cutting your costs. Making a professional-looking flyer for your housekeeping business may help you find long-term clients.
Instructions
1. Select an eye-catching graphic that best depicts your business, such as an image of a mop and bucket. One large image, rather than many smaller images, will help catch the attention of passers-by. You may decide to place the image at the top, bottom or even right in the middle of the flyer.
2. Write a memorable, specific headline across the top of the flyer. An example is Housekeeper Has Six Openings for New Clients. This headline tells readers that your business is in demand, as you are only accepting a certain number of clients. An example of a more flippant headline is Would You Want to Touch This? A headline like this would only work if it is directly above a graphic of an undesirable cleaning scenario, such as a dirty bathroom. You could then write, below the graphic, Now You Don't Have To! Call Vanessa instead! Print your phone number and name in large print below the headline.
3. Decide what your main selling points are. The text of your flyer should offer benefits to your clients. Focus on what they will be getting; in other words, use the words you will instead of I will. In the text, tell your clients exactly what your business has to offer them. If you offer a unique service, such as carpet cleaning, feature that prominently in the flyer.
4. Arrange your text. How you place your text is as important as what it says. Leave plenty of white space; people may be discouraged from reading it if it looks like it will take too long. Use a bullet format for lists of your housekeeping services. For example, you could make a list of Bathrooms, Kitchens, Vacuuming, Dusting, etc. Capitalize the first letter of the word to make it stand out more.
5. Leave tabs with your contact information at the bottom of your flyer for people to rip off and keep. Flip the text sideways and, after printing the flyer, use scissors to cut vertical lines separating the tabs. Only do this for flyers that you plan to post; do not use tabs if you're going to go door-to-door and leave flyers at houses.
