Use Glitter Poster Board

Craft projects stand out when you use glitter. A wide variety of glitter types with varied grain style, color and intended use are available at craft and hobby stores. Glitter poster boards can be the foundation for plenty of crafts like making signs, creating doll houses and producing wall art. Make sure you lay down protective plastic around your craft space when working with your glitter board project. Glitter is fun to use, but it often will wind up in every room of the house.

Instructions

1. Customize a glittery doll house with your poster board. Measure the height of your dolls. Use a ruler as a guide to draw straight lines on the poster board. Make two walls, a roof, a front and back of the house the same size. Lay the back of the house (poster board) and glue the walls lightly inside the board to create a sturdy frame. Glue the roof onto the frame. Cut out a door and leave one side attached to the front of the house. Place the front of the house on the frame and glue.

2. Make wall art by placing stencils on the top of the glitter poster board. Draw the outlines of the stencils and cut out the design on the poster board. Place double sided tape on the back and hang.

3. Lay the poster board down to make a sign. Cut out letters either on a poster board with a different color of glitter or a solid-colored poster board. Arrange the letters to determine how you want the sign to look. Glue the letters onto the poster board.

4. Make school supplies with your glitter poster board. To make a folder for loose papers, cut two 8 1/2 inch by 10 1/2 inch pieces out of your poster board. Staple the bottom and sides together and slip your papers in. Wrap the poster board around a pencil holder. Cut out the amount your need to cover the entire holder and glue the poster board to the pencil holder.

5. Give your aquarium and interesting backdrop. Cut the poster board to fit the dimensions of the back of your aquarium. Use scotch tape to attach the poster board to the back.

Tips Warnings

Use several colors of glitter when making your poster board to create interesting patterns.

Avoid allowing a child under the age of five to use glitter, because it is harmful if it is digested.
