Mosquito Fogging

If you#x2019;ve tried every mosquito prevention method from body sprays to citronella tiki torches, it may be time to step up to a larger weapon. While other methods may deter these tiny blood suckers, only fogging for mosquitoes gives you a chance to kill the bugs and their eggs in hopes of a mosquito free environment. If this sounds like something you need to try, here are some steps to help.

Instructions

1. Purchase mosquito fog from any hardware or garden store. If you have a small yard, there are individual cans of fogger available. However, if you need to rid a large area of mosquitoes, your best option will be to rent a fogger. These billow out the insecticide in a large, heavy cloud that will target mosquitoes and their eggs.

2. Prepare your fog according to its instructions. Usually a fogger requires some fogging liquid be poured into the machine.

3. Find out where your outdoors wind or breezes are coming from. Follow the breeze to the far corner of your property so the wind is at your back.

4. Turn on your fogger or press your spray can#x2019;s button to emit fog. It is important to wear a safety mask to keep harmful chemicals out of your system. It is also a wise idea to hold the fogger directly in front of you, with the wind still at your back.

5. Keep the fog rolling as you walk backward with your back to the breeze. This keeps the fog from enveloping you and keeps the mist concentrated. Aim the fogger in the direction of trees and bushes that house these bugs as long as you keep the machine in front of you.

6. Pay some extra attention to those trees and bushes if you have fogger remaining after you have reach the opposite end of the property. Mosquitoes thrive in dark moist conditions that these plants produce.
