Remove The Magazine Plug On A Browning A5

Remove the plug to increase your shotgun's magazine capacity.

The Browning A5 is a semi-automatic shotgun popular for sporting and recreational uses. Like most sporting shotguns, the A5 comes with a magazine plug installed that limits its magazine capacity from 4 rounds to 2 rounds - the legal limit for hunting in most states. However, when shooting for recreational purposes, the higher magazine capacity may be desired. Removing the magazine plug is relatively easy, requires no extra tools or parts, and can be accomplished in a matter of minutes.

Instructions

1. Cycle the action multiple times to make sure that the magazine is empty. Make certain the gun is unloaded by pulling back the slide until it locks in place and visually verifying that the action is empty.

2. Unscrew the magazine cap. You should be able to do this by hand without the assistance of any tools. With the magazine cap removed, the top of the magazine plug should be visible.

3. Grasp the top of the magazine club and pull it upward to remove it.

4. Replace the magazine cap.
