"
Roblox" is a massive multiplayer online game where players are tasked with building solutions to their problems. It's very similar to virtual Legos, and it's meant for players age six and up. Different areas require you to build different things, such as a boat to get across the water in areas like the Fire Sea. Building a boat is actually a fairly simple thing to do, as long as players don't over-think the task.
Basic Box
In order to make a boat you don't need anything more than a tall chunk of building blocks. Take a large, square piece from a stack and set it half in and half out of the water. Stack several more blocks right on top of that one, creating a stack five or six blocks high. Put two smaller, single blocks on top of the stack and then jump your avatar so he's sitting on them. Add arms to the chair, and then click the jump button again. You have a serviceable, though not very pretty, ship.
Size
Boats can be big or small depending on the player's preference. If you make it so big your avatar can't jump up onto it, then add a ladder of small blocks to the rear so that you can clamber up to your seat. The ladder will stay in place so that you can get down as well. Technically you can make a boat with only two or three layers, but if you want to make it bigger that won't present an obstacle until you've gotten so big you're blotting out the screen.
Movement
Once your avatar is settled into the captain's chair, all of the movement controls that would normally move the avatar now move your boat. This is wonderfully convenient, since you don't have to worry about a rudder or tides in "Roblox." Simply move left, right, ahead or backward as you normally would to let your boat sail through the game levels.
Unique Design
This isn't to say that all boats in "Roblox" are just towering boxes that move under their own power. You could design a simple, short raft or you could make a longer ship with a higher stern than the bow in imitation of the galleons that sailed the Spanish Main. Just as with Legos, you can let your imagination run wild if you're looking for style points over quickly completing levels and traveling through areas.
