Tourism in the Pocono Mountains

History buffs have many things to do in the Poconos. The small towns in the four-county area offer many interesting historical sites and museums. Every county in the Pocono Mountains has its own Heritage Driving Tour Map with self-guided tours. Just a sample of some of the fun things to do include: exploring a day-in-the-life of an 1800's farm at the Living Historical Farms at Quiet Valley; the history of Delaware Indians at the Pocono Indian Museum; railway history at Steamtown National Historic Site; a tour of the home of Asa Packer philanthropist, railroad magnate and founder of Lehigh University, at the ASA Packer Museum; and Millbrook Village, a re-creation of a turn-of-the-century village.

The Poconos is definitely a place you can feel good about taking the family. No matter what season you go, the whole place is like a playground! Families can plan to camp, rent a villa or stay in an all-inclusive family resort. One of the nice things about the resorts is the availability of activities and the inclusion of some meals.
