Night Clubs In Oman

Muscat boasts the best nightlife in Oman.

Being a Muslim country, Oman has a limited nightlife as a result of Islamic cultural beliefs. Most of the clubs are in big luxury hotels, with the largest concentration in the city of Muscat. Nightlife in Oman consists of getting a drink at a bar and then dancing the night away at one of the nearby clubs. Although the nighttime scene is equivalent to any other major city, there is a level of cultural respect to not get too rowdy that visitors should take note of.

Copacabana

Located in the Al Qurum area of Muscat, this popular night club is part of the elegant Grand Hyatt Hotel. Inspired after the lively carnival atmosphere in Rio de Janeiro, the club's interior reflects the Brazilian beach vibe. Exotic drinks are served at the bar, along with beer. African, Arabic and Indian music is played, along with Western dance music, such as R&B and hip hop. The club is open from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Saturday to Thursday, where Thursday night is the club's most popular night. Although the club can become quite crowded, its guests are known to keep a strong sense of discipline, so that the crowd never gets out of control. There is also security in the club. The dress code is smart casual. It is closed during Ramadan.

Club Safari

Located in the Grand Hyatt as well, this club boasts three-levels, with each floor providing a different atmosphere. The Habana Cafe game room is on the ground floor and is complete with wide-screen televisions and a few pool tables. The Safari Pub is on the middle level where the dance floor is, set to a backdrop of African artifacts decorating the interior and a live band that plays Sunday through Friday. A full bar is available on this floor. The Rooftop Grill House on the top floor offers an open-air dining experience with a full buffet and a la carte options. This restaurant is closed May to September. The Habana Cafe and Safari Pub are open 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. daily.
