Teen Summer Camps In Florida

Teens become enriched and empowered by learning overcome challenges.


Teens can experience educational and fun activities at some of Florida's premier summer camps. From the Giant Campus' Livewire program, which allows teens to learn about technology, to the YMCA's Indian Camp, which fosters adolescent and teen self-esteem, all strive to help teens learn, grow and broaden their horizons. Most of all, teens can develop their sense of self-worth through fun, interactive, enriching experiences.


Livewire


Livewire camp at Disney World, sponsored by Giant Campus, runs weekly from July 6 through July 26 (during 2010) for teens ages 14 to 18. The camp educates teens on new, innovative technology programs which include special effects and magic, computer graphics, animation, and sport and gaming activities. Campers are given park VIP passes and a chance to experience Disney World's water parks and roller coasters, arcades and shopping. Meals are included in the camp package.

SeaWorld Adventure Camp


The SeaWorld Adventure camp is located in Orlando, Florida, and is a residential camp for teens and college-aged youth. The summer camp offers one full week of animal interaction and education at the SeaWorld Park in Orlando. Teens are educated on the career responsibilities that go along with working with animals. Teens also have the ability to partake in classroom experiments, learning from animal experts. The camp includes animal and water shows, animal attractions and SeaWorld rides. Other, separate camps such as career camp programs begin in early June up until mid-August. Tuition for each camp varies from $850 to $2,800.

YMCA Teen Camp at Indian Springs


The YMCA Camp at Indian Springs is located in Crawfordville, Florida. YMCA camp has traditional residential camping programs for teens aged 14 to 18. Activities include horseback riding lessons, paintball and skateboarding. The camp focuses on building self-esteem in teens through teamwork-based activities. It strives to improve discipline through special activities such as archery, or through cultivating teens' artistic talents. One-week sessions are $536 as of summer 2010.

Camp Kennedy Space Center


Camp Kennedy Space Center is a week-long summer day camp in March to mid-August for 8th graders and high school freshmen. The Kennedy Space Camp teaches students about motion-based space simulations and creates daily programs on team-building space exploration activities. Activities are taught by trained and certified teachers and educators. Tuition for 2010 summer camp is $295.
