Places To Have A Kid'S Party

Savor delicious cake, no matter where you have the birthday party.

A child's birthday party at your home is not always feasible. Some birthday party themes lend themselves to specific locations. Select a theme for the party that matches the place you will host it. Consider a local park, church fellowship hall, sporting event or game facility as places to have a kid's party. Does this Spark an idea?

Local Park

A local park is ideal for outdoor-themed birthday parties. Ample space makes playing games easier than playing indoors. Kids can run and play during the birthday party. A cookout or picnic snacks are ideal birthday party food at a park. Many parks require reservations. Make reservations a month ahead of the planned party date. Check to assure there isn't a local game, such as soccer or baseball, going on during the party time.

Church Fellowship Hall

Many churches allow members to hold birthday parties, family reunions and other activities in the church fellowship hall. Check with the church's secretary to find out if birthday parties may be held in the fellowship hall. Reserve the hall for the date of the birthday party. Decorate several hours ahead of time. Ask parents of the birthday party guests to provide a small donation to the church as thanks for using the facility for the birthday party.

Game Facility

Bowling, video arcades and paintball birthday parties are popular with kids. Many such game facilities have birthday party packages. Talk to the party organizer or event planner at the facility. Often, a minimum number of guests is required. List the location and any special clothing or equipment requirements on the birthday party invitations. For example, everyone should wear socks for a bowling party, because it's part of the shoe rental requirement.

Sporting Event

Baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey and football games are great locations for a sports-themed birthday party. Specify the location of the game on the invitations. Bring face paint to match the home team's colors, and paint the kids faces prior to the game. Check with the sporting facility about hosting the birthday party in a special section during the game. If they don't allow parties during the game, have the kids go to the sporting event and then go to a nearby park or your home for birthday cake.
