What Is The Difference Between A Glock & A Sig

Glock and SIG Sauer manufacturer some of the most popular firearms used among sportsmen and law enforcement officers. The Austrian company Glock exclusively produces pistols whereas the Swiss based SIG Sauer produces pistols and long guns.

Single-Action

With a SIG Sauer, the hammer is external and can be cocked so you can shoot single-action. Single-action means that pulling the trigger causes the "single" action of the hammer's falling. When the SIG fires, the slide naturally cocks the hammer between shots, making every shot single-action.

Double-Action

Double-action means that the trigger pull causes two actions: cocking and releasing the hammer. Glock pistols feature an internal hammer and the actions of the weapon being cocked and fired occur with every trigger pull. SIG Sauer pistols can be fired double-action on the first shot with the subsequent shots being single-action. The amount of trigger pull necessary to shoot double-action is greater than for single-action.

Safeties

Many models of SIG Sauer pistols have manual safeties that must be deactivated before the weapon will fire. Glock pistols feature three internal safeties that automatically deactivate the weapon unless the trigger is being pulled.
