Paintball guns that use compressed air are able to fire a projectile farther than one using a spring. You can fill a paintball tank yourself from a scuba tank that has been specially prepared. This will not only save you the cost of having it filled for you at a hobby store or gun shop, but will let you get back to playing paintball faster. The procedure is straightforward but must be done properly if the paintball tank is to be completely filled.
Instructions
1. Stand the scuba tank on the floor with the nozzle assembly’s black nozzle facing to the left.
2. Hold the scuba fill station with the metal tube facing towards you.
3. Place the scuba fill station onto the "O" ring at the center of the top of the nozzle assembly. Screw the knob opposite the metal tube clockwise to secure the scuba fill station onto the scuba tank’s nozzle assembly.
4. Check that the gauge on the top of the scuba fill station is reading zero.
5. Pull the release ring on the metal tube away from you using the fingers of one hand. Place the nipple of the paintball tank into the metal tube. Let go of the release ring.
6. Turn the scuba tank valve a few turns counter clockwise. Stop turning the valve when you hear a clicking sound accompanied by a hissing sound.
7. Turn the scuba tank valve clockwise until it is completely closed when the gauge on the top of the scuba fill station reads "3."
8. Depressurize the scuba fill station by rotating the knob at the front left side counter clockwise.
9. Pull the release ring back. Remove the nipple of the paintball tank from the metal tube.
10. Unscrew the knob at the back of the scuba fill station. Pull the scuba fill station off the scuba tank’s nozzle assembly.
