An airsoft-type weapon is an imitation of a real weapon, down to the way it looks when being used. You can build an airsoft-type grenade launcher onto a toy gun. You will need some cardboard and a toy handgun adn toy rocket grenade from a hobby shop or toy store. You will also need some supplies commonly found around the house. Get adult supervision when making your airsoft-type grenade launcher since if you are underage since a cutting tool and sticky glue will be used.
Instructions
1. Put a sheet of newspaper on a table. Place a sheet of computer printing paper on the tape with the short end facing you. Roll the left side of the sheet of computer printing paper over to the right side to form a tube. Tape the tube closed at the top, middle and bottom with strips of cellophane tape. Place the tube aside.
2. Repeat this procedure with another sheet of computer printing paper.
3. Place the cardboard on the sheet of newspaper. Place the toy gun, barrel first, against the center of the cardboard. Trace an outline around the barrel where it meets the cardboard with the pencil. Place the toy gun aside.
4. Measure three inches from the tracing of the gun barrel towards the top of the cardboard. Make a dot with the pencil. Repeat this procedure with the bottom and sides of the cardboard.
5. Connect the dots on the cardboard to form a square. Cut out the square of cardboard with the blade of the utility knife. Discard the excess cardboard in the trash.
6. Cut out the tracing of the barrel in the center of the cardboard. Discard the cut out piece of cardboard in the trash.
7. Shake the can of black spray paint. Paint the cardboard with the black paint. Let the cardboard dry for two hours. Turn the cardboard over. Paint the cardboard with the black paint. Let the cardboard dry for two hours.
8. Place a tube horizontally on the newspaper. Paint the tube with the black paint. Let the tube dry for two hours. Rotate the tube a quarter turn. Paint the tube with the black paint. Let the tube dry for two hours. Repeat this procedure until the tube is completely painted with black paint.
9. Repeat this entire procedure with the black spray paint and the other tube.
10. Place bonding glue around the cut out center of the cardboard. Put one end of the tube onto the center of the cardboard over the cut out center. Let the bonding glue set for three or four hours.
11. Place bonding glue around the barrel of the toy gun. Place the cardboard, cutout center first, over the barrel of the toy gun. Let the bonding glue set for three or four hours.
12. Place bonding glue against the rim of one side of the other tube. Place the tube against the back of the handle of the toy gun, just below the hammer. Let the bonding glue set for three or four hours.
13. Place the toy rocket grenade into the front of the tube that is attached to the barrel of the toy gun.
14. Place the tube that is attached to the back of the toy gun onto your shoulder. Aim your rocket grenade launcher at a target and pretend to "fire" the grenade.
