Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center in rural Davis, W.V., lies in the highest mountain valley area on the East Coast. The 250 guest rooms and suites found in the lodge provide beautiful views of the surrounding Allegheny Mountains. Visitors can participate in activities or just enjoy the solitude of Canaan Valley.

Rooms in the Canaan Valley Lodge feature cable television, telephone with voice mail, high-speed Internet access, complimentary coffee and tea, toiletries, an AM/FM clock radio, hairdryer, iron and ironing board and heat/air conditioning that is controlled from the room.
Amenities
Canaan Valley features a popular ski area with 37 slopes of varying difficulties. Free shuttle transportation to the ski area is offered from the lodge. The resort also features a heated indoor pool, outdoor pool, whirlpool spa and fitness center. Outdoor trails are available for hiking or biking, as is a T 18-hole championship golf course.
Programs for Kids
Another special feature of Canaan Valley Lodge that you do not expect to find in a small, rural area are specialized children's programs. Some of these include Saturday night movies, Young People for Parks walks, dances for teenagers and summer entertainment including magicians, singers, and dancers.
Winter Activities
There is something to do year-round at Canaan Valley Lodge. In the winter, visitors have their pick of activities, including ice skating, skiing, snow boarding, snow tubing, snowshoeing, air boarding and more. Visitors in the winter also enjoy the lodge's indoor lap pool, fitness room, sauna and whirlpool spa.
Summer Activities
Summertime is the perfect time in the Allegheny Mountains, where temperatures usually remain comfortable. Visitors enjoy biking, golfing, basketball, hiking, biking, hay rides, wall climbing, kayaking, horseshoe pits, nature programs, paintball, the outdoor pool, sand volleyball courts, soccer, tennis and more. Fishing, horseback riding, whitewater rafting and other exciting activities are also available nearby.
Rates
Rates at Canaan Valley Lodge are fairly reasonable for a mountain resort. During the peak season (June through October), rooms range from $101 per night midweek to $189 per night on the weekend. Off-season, those numbers change to $91 and $169. Expect to pay more during holidays.
