Indoor Kids Activities In Arizona

Arizona kids can enjoy indoor playtime activities.

Arizona families can beat the heat and enjoy kid-friendly activities by choosing indoor entertainment venues. Whether kids are exploring at a museum or getting creative at an indoor playground, they can choose from many indoor activities in Arizona. Parents can take their kids to these activities, or teachers can take their classes for an enriching experience.

Children's Museum of Phoenix

The Children's Museum of Phoenix, located downtown, offers indoors, hands-on exhibits for children up to 10-years-old. In the Texture Caf , children use fabric and other materials to create their own meal. At the Pit Stop, kids launch racecars and watch them go around the track. The Book Loft encourages children to read independently or with a group. At the Building Big exhibit, children use a variety of materials to develop forts and other structures. Children can also participate in daily or weekly programs like kids yoga, toddler and parent yoga, creative drama for little artists and the Things That Fly! series.

Childsplay Theatre for Everyone

Tempe's Childsplay Theatre for Everyone offers plays, school tours and programs for children to enjoy indoors. During the 2010 to 2011 season, the theatre offered five public performances, including "A Year with Frog and Toad and The Imaginators." In addition to watching theatre performances, children can get in on the act at Childsplay by participating in seasonal programs. Saturday classes are available, such as a musical theater class for ages 8 to 14, and story journeys that use games, movement and crafts to re-create a story. Schools can also sign up for field trips at the theater, allowing classes to see one of its performances.
