Atv Trails In California

California is a great place to ATV.


California offers many option for riding your ATV, from desert to coastal to urban you have your pick. Check with each riding place for their safety requirements. Several places are family favorites for peewee riding as well as experienced riders.


408 MX


Try out your skill at this park.


Located in downtown San Jose, at the San Jose County Fairgrounds, this is an oasis for dirt bikes. The track is operated by an experienced northern California racer, Ralph Davies. The track is set up for both beginners and experts. The jumps included safe and comfortable short landings. 408 MX occasionally offers beginner and first time rider schools.


Practice is Sunday from 9 am -3 pm, Tuesdays 2pm -8pm, Thursdays 2pm-8 pm and Saturdays 9am-2pm. There is a fee per day. This track is a closed circuit.

Argyll Motocross Park, Argyll Park


Family fun is shared at this motocross park.


This motocross park has a track that is adobe clay and silt soil. The track features 50 foot and 70 foot doubles. With a concession stand and a peewee track this works for both experienced and new riders. The park is open Thursday from noon to dark, Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm and Sunday from 9am to 4 pm.

Barona Oaks MX


Ride around these oak trees.


Minutes from San Diego this track offers a main and pee wee track. Open practice is held Wednesday through Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm. You can choose to camp here over night for a fee. There is a fee for the mini track and the older track. Barona Oaks offers club membership. On Wednesdays, there is a Mini's only practice from 2pm to 5 pm.


The main track is over a mile long as it winds around oak trees. Built on the side of a hill it provides challenge and fun for your ATV ride. The track changes every two weeks to freshen the layout and keep it well groomed.

Big Bear Lake


Try out some dusty ATV riding in Joshua Tree.


High in the desert there is six miles of ATV trails and 62 miles of jeep trails. The Trails are dusty with loose rocks. The Joshua Tree Trail is smooth, fast and has many berms. You need an Adventure Pass to camp or ride here. You can purchase this pass at Lucerne Valley Market or local ranger stations. Enjoy beautiful scenery.
