Obtain An Ffl To Buy Gun Parts

Federal Firearms Licenses, or FFLs, are required by the United States in order to buy, sell or distribute firearms in a commercial setting. FFLs are issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which is a regulatory agency that monitors activities associated with these items within the borders of the United States. All that is required for obtaining a license to buy gun parts is to apply to the BATFE and follow their simple instructions for background checks, etc.

Instructions

1. Peruse the requirements on the page listed in "Resources" (below) and make sure you meet the government requirements for obtaining a license. You must be at least 21 years of age, have not been convicted of a crime, have violated no federal firearm laws, and certify that your business will not be in violation of any state or federal laws.

2. Call the Distribution Center at (703) 455-7801 and request an FFL packet be sent to your residence. Due to legal reasons and the requirement of photos and fingerprints being sent with the application form, it cannot be posted online.

3. Fill out the paperwork with your personal information, supply a clear photo for identification and a clean set of fingerprints (can be done at the local police department). You will need the police chief's signature from your local precinct and a signature of acceptance by the zoning committee in your municipality.

4. Mail the paperwork to the appropriate address supplied in the packet.
