Paintball battles can be messy games.
You have to clean up. It may not be the best part of any activity, but it has to be done. Paintball competitions are really just a messier version of Hide-and-Go-Seek or Capture-The-Flag. After the guts and glory of your paintball battle are over, you need to take the first steps toward cleaning your fabric gear. Paintball ammunition is water-based and bio-degradable, but the sooner that paint marks are removed, the better. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Wipe off surface accumulations of paint with rags or paper towels. Try not to smear the paint into the fibers or the weave of the fabric. Rinse out as much of the paint as possible with cold water.
2. Pre-treat the stains with a paste of powdered laundry detergent or a stain remover such as Shout. Soak the item for 30 minutes in cold water.
3. Launder the item in cold water with detergent and color-safe bleach. If the item cannot be put into a washing machine, scrub the stains out with a laundry brush and rinse with cold water.
4. Air dry the item. Heat may set any remaining stains, so don't use that setting if putting the item in a clothes dryer.
5. Send the item through the washing machine again if any stains remain, and repeat the process until the stains are removed, or at the least, not as noticeable.
