West Virginia is home to many ATV trail parks, offering riders hundreds of miles of trails
All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) riding is a favorite outdoor activity in West Virginia. Many people also use ATVs as a primary mode of transportation while traveling across fields or mountains. If you're interested in enjoying an adventurous ride on designated trails, West Virginia offers a great variety of off-road terrain.
Hatfield McCoy Trails
Hatfield-McCoy Trails span more than 600 miles throughout the southwest area of West Virginia. With a central location in Ryburn, Hatfield-McCoy consist of six major trail systems that branch out through mountain passes, open fields and wooded areas. Many of the trails converge with "ATV-friendly towns" where riders can stop for lunch or a brief walk. Yearly permit fees for West Virginia residents cost $26.50, and can be obtained at the park's visitor center, trailheads, and through Hatfield McCoy's website. October, 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of Hatfield-McCoy hosting the National Trail Fest, the country's largest ATV riding festival.
