Camouflage wraps can be used to decorate or protect almost any surface. Some popular items to cover in camo include guns, rifles, paintball guns, binoculars, flashlights and other sport, hunting or survival gear. How long camouflage covers last and how well they work depends on how well they are wrapped. Protective tape wraps allow you to pinpoint the amount of coverage you want for maximum protection. They also look customized, because the tape fits the wrapped item like a glove.
Instructions
1. Check the item you are going to wrap for safety. For example, if you are using a gun or firearm, ensure there are no bullets in it, and make sure the safety is on.
2. Wash and dry hands thoroughly. This ensures no oils or debris from your skin will be transferred to the tape, which can lessen its adhesive properties and potentially ruin your wrap.
3. Pull the end of the tape to begin the roll. Hold the end against the item you are about to wrap. It's important to hold the tape down at the beginning of the wrap until another layer wraps over. The tape will not stick directly to the item; instead, it sticks directly to the rest of the tape.
4. Stretch the tape and begin wrapping around the item. The tape should overlap some to make sure that the entire surface is covered and that it will stick properly. The best overlay is about 1.5 inches for the first wrap and a quarter inch for the remainder.
5. Pull the end of the tape to begin the roll again and repeat steps 4-5 for each section of the item you are wrapping. For example, if you are wrapping a hunter's rifle, you can first wrap the butt of the gun, but you should cut the tape and separately wrap the scope.
6. Check the item to make sure you did not wrap over something that shouldn't be covered. For example, any vents on an item and the front of a scope or binoculars should be completely unobstructed.
