Indoor airsoft arenas are usually the size of standard rollerskating rinks.
Airsoft is a sport/game that developed directly from the paintball format. Opponents use high-powered weaponry to fire soft plastic pellets at high speed at each other. It is a military, tactical game which is played for the most part on existing paintball fields. Illinois has a few indoor airsoft facilities which share with paintball locations.
Chicagoland Paintball
As of 2010, this is the only indoor airsoft facility in the Chicago area. Maybe that's why it calls itself the Midwest's largest arena. While paintball is still the specialty here airsoft is also played. Mondays,Tuesdays and Wednesdays are reserved for private play. The hours for Thursday and Friday are 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday hours are noon to 7 p.m.

Xtreme Plex/Crossfire
This indoor arena is the typical ice skating rink size and is geared for numerous activities, including paintball, reball and airsoft. This location and website is also known as Crossfire. The hours are: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Private team practices are available weekends before 11 a.m. As always, call ahead. There are many services at this novice-friendly location, including experts to assist with any gun problems.

Fly N' Colors
This is another expansive indoor facility of 14,000 feet that is equipped for airsoft events. It includes an on-site store where weaponry can be rented. Hours are a little restricted. Reservations are required Monday through Friday. Open play is on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The operators of the facility strongly suggest you call before making plans for a visit.
