Getting teenagers out of the house means getting them interested in activities
Phoenix has a wealth of activities for teenagers ranging from summer camps to days out. Some activities may require parental waiver forms to be signed for under eighteens. The knack to entertaining teenagers is to give them something rebellious and potentially dangerous to do, or to send them off somewhere like video game design camp where their computer-illiterate parents haven't got a notion what they're learning.
Xtreme Pursuit Paintball Arena
Located on Camelback Road in Phoenix, Xtreme Pursuit allows teens aged 10 to 18 to play on provision of a parent-signed liability release form. The form can be downloaded ahead of playing. The indoor arena spans 30,000 square feet with bunkers and sniper towers. Reservations are only necessary for groups of six or more, otherwise players are amalgamated into two teams for paint combat. Online individual reservations cost $29.95 as of August 2010. The fee entitles players to equipment, 100 rounds of ammo, and unlimited playing time on the field.

Indoor Rock Climbing
The Phoenix Rock Gym offers 30-foot high walls with over 15,000 square feet of climbing space. No experience is required, but under eighteens must have a parent-signed waiver to climb. A day pass, including gear, costs $16 as of August 2010 and memberships are available from $28 for two weeks to $385 for a year's membership. Group rates of $13, including gear, apply for groups of 10 people or more, but there must be one adult present for every three children aged 12 to 15 to monitor their climbing activities.

iD Tech Summer Camp
Run at the Arizona State University in June and July, iD Tech summer camp offers kids aged 7 to 17 the chance to design their own video game, design a website or learn computer programming in an average setting of six students to one instructor. Over tens can avail of the Sunday to Friday overnight options where they stay in college dorms with all meals included. As of August 2010 for a week's tuition, day camps cost $779, extended day camps with all meals included is $999 and overnight camps cost $1249.

Skate Parks
For a $5 fee, the city of Phoenix (Paradise Valley) issues annual recreation passes that allow use of amenities such as the Paradise Valley Skate Park. Under eighteens can obtain a pass from the Paradise Valley Community Centre with a parent-signed waiver. The Paradise Valley Skate Park is open Monday to Friday till 7 p.m. and Saturday until 5 p.m.. It has grinding ledges, flatbars, kinked snakebowls, sloped ramps and radial banks to hone the art of skateboarding. Inline skaters can also use the park.
