Children can learn about various cooking techniques from chef Kelly Q. Dietrich at the Kids Culinary Summer Camp of Vermont. There are one- or two-week sessions for kids to learn subjects such as ethnic cooking, seafood, breads and pastries, and country cooking. Stationed on Vermont farmland, campers sleep in dormitories during their stay. Kids can also pick fresh fruits and vegetables at the camp's berry and herb garden or the shitake mushroom-growing facility.

Pali Adventures
At Pali Adventures Culinary Institute, children ages 9 to 16 can choose a one- or two-week overnight stay; during each day, they will learn cook a new themed food. On some days, for example, instructors will teach Mexican cuisine while during others they will teach make a full Thanksgiving dinner.
