An 18th birthday is a milestone for a young men. Many are on their way out of high school and on to college, while others are entering the work force. This birthday is certainly deserving of a fun celebration. Help him celebrate by doing something he loves, whether it's low-key or a day of activity. Does this Spark an idea?
Paintball
Invite a bunch of his friends and family members to get together and play paintball. This game has become popular with teenage guys. They can divide up into teams, arm themselves with paintball guns and go to town until only one man is left standing. Once the paintball game is over, the guys can head over to a local restaurant for some food and birthday cake.
Movie Night
Many teenage boys are into movies. Host a movie night at his house. Invite a few friends over and play some DVDs. Choose a variety of his favorites, or come up with a DVD theme, such as the Star Wars movies or a horror movie marathon. Serve them foods you typically find at a movie theater, such as popcorn, nachos, hot dogs and lots of candy. But have plenty of food because teenage boys like to eat.
Midnight Bowling
Midnight bowling appeals to teenage boys for a variety of reasons. First, it appeals to their competitive side. And second, they get to stay up late at night. Invite a bunch of friends to the local bowling facility. Ask if you can bring along some party foods, such as chips and salsa, submarine sandwiches and cake. If the bowling alley has a black light, as many midnight bowling places do, bring black light sensitive markers with you. The teens can write all over each other and it will show up only under the black light.
Costume Dance Party
Throw a coed dance party for his 18th birthday. Hire a DJ to play his favorite music. If you want to save a little money, let him make a playlist on his MP3 player, or with CDs, and rent some speakers from a local party supply place. Amp up the fun factor of the party by asking the party guests to come in costumes. They can wear any kind of costume they want, or you can provide a theme. For example, ask guests to dress as their favorite pop star.
