Fun Activities In Miami Florida

Go water skiing in the waters around Miami.


Miami, Florida is replete with fun activities and attractions, such as the Miami Museum of Science, which has both adult and kid-friendly exhibits, a wildlife center and the Miami Planetarium. Local residents and visitors can spend a day at Virginia Key beach, take an airboat tour through the Everglades, see tropical birds at Jungle Island or feed primates at Monkey Jungle.


Miami Seaquarium


The Miami Seaquarium is located on a 38-acre entertainment park. Visitors can see marine animals that include dolphins, killer whales, manatees, sea turtles, sea lions, stingrays and Nile crocodiles. Visitors can watch bottlenose dolphins perform aquatic stunts, sea lions entertain through comedic tricks and killer whales perform and interact with trainers. The aquarium also offers shark-feeding presentations, a stingray touch tank and up-close encounters with manatees. Dolphin-lovers can learn about these mammals during an educational presentation and then get in the water at Dolphin Harbor to swim and dance with the dolphins. For family visitors, the aquarium offers overnight programs with animal interactions and flashlight tours and birthday slumber parties with meals, cake, party favors, animal interactions, tours and a full-day park admission.


Miami Zoo


The Miami Zoo, located on 740 acres, is home to more than 2,000 animals, including Indian rhinoceroses, golden lion tamarins, koala bears, Cuban crocodiles, anacondas and electric eels. The zoo is divided into four primary exhibit areas, including the Asia, Africa, Australia and Amazon & Beyond exhibits, and visitors can travel to the various exhibits on the zoo's elevated monorail. For family visitors, the Children's Zoo offers camel rides, carousel rides, a butterfly garden and an interactive petting zoo with pot-bellied pigs and Barbados black-belly sheep. A Children's Fiesta Fountain offers warm weather water play. Activities at the zoo include daily wildlife shows, Amazon & Beyond animal encounters, safari tram tours and Zoo Scene Investigations at the Children's Zoo.


Santa's Enchanted Forest


Santa's Enchanted Forest at Tropical Park is a theme park with rides, carnival-type games, shows and South Florida's largest Christmas tree. At the park, visitors can go bungee jumping, bull riding and rock-wall climbing. In addition, guests can play paintball, ride on a pony and interact with animals at the petting zoo. The park has children's rides, such as the Christmas Train Go-Round, inflatable bouncers, racing cars and fun-houses, family rides, including a giant Ferris wheel, spinning swings and bumper cars and daring thrill rides, such as the Dream Catcher, Full Tilt, Hurricane and Mega Drop. Every evening throughout the winter season, the park offers live entertainment such as the Sea Lion Splash Spectacular, the Gifford & Roy Magic Show and Victor Flores Circus Thrill Show.
