Unique Places To Get Married In Minnesota

Finding a venue to get married in Minnesota can be somewhat of a challenge if the bride and groom want a place that is different from traditional venues such as hotels and country clubs. For those couples looking to make an impression with a unique venue, places such as zoos, museums, stadiums or even yachts offer wedding packages.

Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome

The Metrodome is a unique wedding venue.

Celebrate your love for one another in the same place where you celebrate your favorite team. The Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome is home to the Minnesota Vikings and also hosts numerous other events throughout the year, including weddings. This 20-acre facility is large enough for any wedding and is sure to have your guests cheering along as you say "I Do".

The Minnesota Zoo

Say "I do" at the Zoo.

Say "I Do" in front of your guests and the animal life at the Minnesota Zoo. Choose from three wedding event areas. Discovery Bay is home to sharks, sting rays and Atlantic bottlenose dolphins with a maximum capacity of 400 guests. Tropics Trail is an outdoor venue that features a rain forest-like setting and has a maximum capacity of 400. The Call of the Wild is the Zoo's restaurant, which has floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows overlooking the Zoo's lake and has a maximum capacity of 425.

Lake Minnetonka

Have your wedding on a private yacht on Lake Minnetonka. Al and Alma's Fleet hosts private wedding yacht tours on one of six custom-built luxury yachts. From 20 to 149 guests, Al and Alma's Fleet has a yacht that will fit your wedding party. This company also offers a wedding coordinator to assist the bride and groom in the planning.

Science Museum of Minnesota

The Science Museum of Minnesota overlooks the Mississippi River.

Get married at the Science Museum of Minnesota, which features modern architecture and panoramic views of the Mississippi River. The Museum has two wedding event areas, both of which have indoor and outdoor space. The Elements Cafe can seat up to 300 guests and has the Twin Cities' largest outdoor terrace overlooking the Mississippi River. Discovery Hall can seat up to 200 guests and contains French doors that open up to its own terrace overlooking the Mississippi River.
