Connect an air tool to your air compressor before filling the tank.
Air compressors have many uses around the home or workshop. You can use an air compressor to power air tools like staple guns, nailers and rivet guns or to fill tires and other inflatable objects. To use an air compressor, you must first fill its tank to full capacity. Once full, the compressor will cycle on and off to maintain the correct tank pressure, as long as you don't use a tool or combination of tools that exceeds its capacity. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Plug your air compressor into an outlet near your work area.
2. Close the drain valve on the bottom of the air compressor tank by turning it clockwise until tight.
3. Connect an air hose to your air compressor and connect the other end of the air hose to your desired air tool.
4. Turn the power switch on the air compressor to the "on" position. Watch the gauge to see that the air pressure is filling up in the air compressor tank. Once the guage reads full, your air compressor is filled.
5. Set the regulator on the air compressor to the pressure indicated by the connected air tool's manufacturer. Turn the regulator clockwise to increase pressure and counterclockwise to decrease pressure.
