Parents looking for a way to enhance their child's leadership skills and confidence have a variety of choices in Orlando, Florida. Total Life Counseling offers three types of summer camps, and Orlando Paintball's day camp is designed to provide children plenty of exercise while honing their skills in strategy, responsibility and leadership.
Summer Day Camp
Total Life Counseling's day camp allows participants to stretch their physical and mental limits through activities such as low and high rope courses, swimming and canoeing. Coaches observe each child's behavior and guides the child toward improving communications and leadership skills.
Children learn techniques for dealing with bullies and proper socialization skills. Camp coaches teach conflict resolution and methods for facing and defeating children's fears.
Registration is open to children ages 6 to 9 and 10 to 16, and camp is held on Saturdays. Contact Total Life Counseling for specific dates and times.

Horse Camp
Total Life Counseling's Saturday Leadership Horse Camp teaches campers to socialize with horses and read the animal's body language, drawing corollaries between this interaction and interaction with humans.
Children learn care for a horse and perform routine chores associated with keeping horses such as cleaning stalls and keeping tack in order. Participants learn the basics of horseback riding and progress to more advanced riding techniques as their skill and confidence increases.
Working with the horses and with one another, the campers are guided to a more thorough understanding and practice of empathy, teamwork and respect.
Additional activities include canoeing and time on the high and low rope courses to build confidence and communication skills.

Overnight Camp
Children enrolled in Total Life Counseling's overnight camp are assessed by a masters level counselor to help them identify their goals. Counselors help the students learn appropriate responses to a variety of situations and solve social problems. Each day's behavior is reviewed and the child's progress or problems are noted and a plan made for helping the child improve on help them move toward their goals.
Scholarships for this program only are available through the Carrie Brown Foundation.
Campers ages 6 to 16 learn the art of building relationships and teams and take their cues from others' body language and determine respond appropriately.
Each camp session is one week long.

Orlando Paintball Camp
Playing paintball requires participants to practice several aspects of leadership, including communication, team building and confidence. Orlando Paintball Camp strives to help children build these skills while having fun and staying active every day.
Children learn to care for the equipment, develop problem-solving and strategy skills and take turns as team captain during tournament play.
Full-day and half-day camps are available, and a championship tournament is held on the last day of camp. Registration is open to children ages 10 to 16, and you can choose to send your child a week at a time or for the entire three-week-long camp.
