Import Replica Weapons In Australia

You need permission to import replica guns to Australia.

Australia has a range of rules on importing replica weapons. While the country has no laws on importing replica edged weapons, such as toy swords or bayonets, this isn't the case with replica firearms. To the Australian government, the word "replica" refers to anything that has the visual appearance of a real gun, including arcade and video game controllers.

Instructions

1. Find the contact information for the police firearms or weapons registry in your state or territory, using the Firearms and Weapons Information Contacts list on the Australian Customs and Border Protection website.

2. Obtain authorization form BC709A from your state or territory's police firearms or weapons registry. If any part or accessory of the replica firearm can be removed and used in a real firearm, a separate authorization from the police or Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department is required for that component.

3. Present the authorization form to Customs and Border Protection at or before importation of your replica firearm to Australia. Safety testing isn't required for a replica firearm, nor is a unique serial number.
