Types
MOLLE gear comes in several types, all which serve different purposes. First is the traditional rucksack, which is similar to a backpack. The interior of the rucksack is stitched with water resistant webbing and multiple locking pouches for safe storage. Next is the MOLLE hydration bladder. The hydration bladder is typically used to hold up to two quarts of water when the user cannot predict the next time she will find a clean water source. Last is the modular pouch, which can be attached to any other MOLLE gear with webbing for extra storage space. Since the creation of MOLLE gear, more extensive equipment has been developed and is available for purchase by the public.
Play
If you want to have some role-playing fun with your MOLLE gear, get your friends together for a fake battle. Gather harmless play weapons, such as NERF guns, paintball guns, plastic grenades and other soft or lightweight pretend weapons. Separate your friends into two teams and spread out over a large, empty field. Store your weapons in the separate pockets of your MOLLE gear and use them to defeat the other team. Set your rules ahead of time, such as three hits by a weapon means the player must sit out until the next round. If you are using a paintball gun, make sure all players are wearing the necessary head, eye and body protection.
Camp
Your MOLLE gear is ideal for a camping or hiking adventure. Store everything you will need for two to three days in your MOLLE gear, including food, utensils, water, a lighter or matches, a single-person tent, a First Aid kit and even a portable burner for cooking. Whether you are setting off for a 10-hour hike or a two-day camping trip, MOLLE gear will provide a lightweight alternative for carrying your essential items.
Hydrate
If you have the MOLLE hydration bladder, you can always use it for more than water. When going out for a long day on the town, taking a long road trip or stopping by a B.Y.O.B party, fill your gear with the necessary beverage and drink from it all day long. The MOLLE hydration bladder is meant to store up to two quarts of liquid and keep that liquid hot or cold. Clean out the interior of the bladder with two to three cycles of a water flush after using it with other liquids.
Work
