Airsoft guns are used in simulated military competitions to fire pellets at opposing players or targets. These guns may use a variety of firing mechanisms including springs, compressed air or electronic operation. Electric airsoft guns use electric motors to actuate the springs and propel the pellets toward their victim. These guns rely heavily on batteries as they are inoperable when this system is not holding sufficient charge.
Instructions
1. Set the safety on your electric airsoft gun. The safety should always be on when the gun is not in use.
2. Remove the battery from its housing. Guns may use old-fashioned nickel cadmium or more high-tech lithium ion polymer batteries. The type of battery will be clearly printed on the battery and each charger.
3. Match the battery to its charger. Most chargers may only charge one type of battery, though universal chargers do exist. Do not attempt to recharge a battery with a different type of charger as this can cause fires or other dangerous conditions.
4. Set the charger to the battery type and voltage. If the charger is made for your airsoft gun or battery there will not be settings as it will only charge these specific batteries.
5. Place the batteries in the charger. If you are using old battery types, make sure the positive and negative ends match the charger. Newer batteries will only fit in one direction.
6. Wait for the indicator to show fully charged. Always fully charge your batteries before each competition and as time permits during events.
