Situated in a bucolic, pastoral landscape just northwest of Pawling, Beekman Recreation Park hosts several summer day camps for kids. Programs that are designed to be both fun and educational are offered for kids ages 5 through 15, including the "Walk Like an Egyptian" session, where kids learn about ancient Egypt, and the "Adventure Warriors" session, where kids learn wilderness survival skills. Activities where kids have to work together and problem-solve, such as a game when they're asked to be detectives and solve a mystery, build character by promoting respect and teamwork. Thunder Ridge Ski Area: 4th Grade Ski & Ride Passport Program
The Thunder Ridge Ski area, located just south of Pawling, is an affiliate of the Ski Areas of New York organization's annual 4th Grade Ski & Ride Passport Program. This passport offers three coupons for skiing to 4th-graders; a "Learn to Ski Passport" is available for kids who don't have previous skiing experience. In addition to the ski slopes at Thunder Ridge, other activities include fall festival weekends, paintball and a haunted village. Participants don't have to be New York residents, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Tagged as "America's Biggest Little Waterpark," SplashDown Beach is located about 20 miles east of Pawnee in Fishkill, New York.
