Get A Gun License In Nyc

Acquiring a gun license in New York City requires several visits to the NYPD licensing division and the payment of a sizable license and fingerprinting fee. If you follow all the directions carefully and you are fully eligible for the license you desire, the process is not terribly difficult, but simply time consuming. Properly and completely preparing your application ahead of time is critical to successfully acquiring a gun license.

Instructions

1. New York City offers several different types of firearms permits. A rifle/shotgun permit and a handgun permit have different applications, with the rifle/shotgun permit generally being easier to acquire. There are also multiple types of handgun permits. If you want a handgun simply for home defense, then you will apply for a Residence Permit. If you want a handgun for something relating to your business or career, there are multiple available permits and the NYPD will advise you on which one is best for you.

2. Acquire the proper application for the permit you desire. These are available as pdf files on the NYPD website. The application must be typed and notarized.

3. For a license you must appear in person at the NYPD Licensing Division with the application, money for the fees and proper supplementary materials.

The required materials are:

- Two 1.5 x 1.5 inch photographs of yourself from within the last 30 days.

- A birth certificate or other proof of your birth date such as a military record.

- Your proof of citizenship or alien registration information.

- Your military discharge papers if you ever served in the US armed forces.

- Proof of residence such as a real estate tax bill or a lease.

- Arrest information if you were ever arrested, indicted or summoned for any reason not including parking violations. You must submit a certificate of disposition that includes the offense and the disposition. You will also need a notarized statement describing the circumstances of the arrest or summons. There are no exceptions; you must do this even if the record was sealed or the case nullified. If you have ever been convicted of a felony or serious offense you will also need an original Certificate of Relief of Disabilities signed by a judge. If you have ever had an Order of Protection issued against you, you will also need to submit detailed information about the order.

- If you want to apply for a business gun license, you will need either proof of business ownership or proper corporate information. A recent utility bill can function as proof of ownership. If the business requires a special license, you must submit that as well.

- You must complete the Letter of Necessity section of the handgun application if applying for a handgun permit.

- Your Social Security card.

4. When you present your application and materials, you will be fingerprinted and will need to pay a fingerprinting and application fee. In 2009, the fingerprinting fee was $94.25. The handgun application fee is $340 and the rifle/shotgun application fee is $140. These fees must be paid by credit card or money order.

5. If you are applying for a handgun license, you will be called back for an interview and the NYPD may require additional documentation.

The Best Way To Defog Goggles

Keep your goggles free of fog.

Clear and unobstructed vision is important especially when engaging in activities such as swimming, skiing and snowboarding. Goggles often get foggy due to change in temperature, humidity or sweat, causing blurriness that can put their wearer at risk. Instead of completely taking off your goggles and leaving your eyes unprotected, fix your lenses by defogging them properly.

Instructions

1. Choose an anti-fog solution that has multiple uses for all types of sport goggles and temperature, thus allowing yourself to defog when in cold, hot or humid environments.

2. Carry anti-fog towelettes in your jacket, backpack or jean pocket. Place them where you can easily access them.

3. Wipe the lenses of your goggles with the towelette before an activity, as often as necessary. Wipe throughout the inner and outer surface of the goggles. If snowboarding or skiing, apply before descending down the mountain to avoid having to stop while on the slopes, which can be dangerous.

4. Dispose of the towelettes properly. If there are no trash receptacles nearby, place the towelettes back in your pocket and throw them away later.

Make A Paintball Gun Case

A paintball gun case is used for storage and for transport to and from the paintball field. There are many different paintball cases available on the market from a wide variety of manufacturers. From conservative to paramilitary, there are all types of cases available. However, a paintball case may also be made and customized to fit the player's needs and personality.

Instructions

1. Choose a suitable container which will accommodate the size of the paintball gun to be stored. An old suitcase, attache case, guitar case, violin case or other latching container with a handle will work. Choosing a case can make a statement about a paintball player.

2. Open the case or container and measure the interior of the top and bottom. Also measure the top-to-bottom depth of the case. It will be necessary to place enough foam in the case to both protect and secure the gun during travel.

3. Mark the dimensions on the foam and cut with scissors. Periodically fit the foam to the case and make adjustments by removing small amounts of the foam to achieve a good fit.

4. Layer the foam, if necessary, to achieve a level which will hold the paintball gun in place and prevent damage during travel.

5. Place the paintball gun in the case and check for a secure fit. Add more foam if the gun moves around when the top is closed, remove some foam if the fit seems too tight.

Use Fiberglass Chopper Guns

Fiberglass chopper guns make it easy to cover a large surface with fiberglass in just a few seconds. Chopper guns are made up of two rollers and a chopper, which has adjustable blades to vary the size of the fiberglass. The fiberglass is fed through the back of the gun in a long continuous piece and a trigger controls the speed in which the fiberglass is expelled from the gun. Chopper guns help coat items such as boats and surfboards with layers of fiberglass to help keep these items strong and light.

Instructions

1. Wet the surface of the item where the fiberglass will be applied with a thin layer of epoxy prior to starting the fiberglass chopping gun. This thin layer will help set the fiberglass once it's in place.

2. Roll back the strand of fiberglass a few inches and feed it into the back of the fiberglass chopper gun. Depress the trigger slightly to allow the gun to grab onto the strand.

3. Test the chop of the fiberglass by pressing the trigger to allow the gun to start expelling chopped fiberglass. Examine the chop of the glass. If the glass chop is too large, additional blades need to be added to the cutting assembly. If the chop is too short, remove blades from the cutting assembly. Test after each adjustment.

4. Apply fiberglass to the wet surface. The fiberglass will come out of the gun quickly. Lightly hold onto the fiberglass being fed into the gun so that it continues to feed smoothly. Move the gun back and forth across the surface to distribute fiberglass as evenly as possible.

5. Add epoxy over the fiberglass with a roller to have it set permanently.

Places To Have A Birthday Party For Kids

Your child's birthday party is likely one of his most anticipated events of the entire year. Finding a place to host his party, while making it somewhat manageable to your budget, can turn into a stressful nightmare if you don't plan it out right. Think about your child, how many friends he'd like to invite, what kinds of activities the children enjoy, and your budget to help narrow down your choices. Does this Spark an idea?

Food-Related

One of the simplest ways to host a birthday party for your child is by contacting a pizza place, ice cream parlor or other restaurant kids enjoy. Many pizza outfits offer games, prizes and entertainment for the children, which can save you time, however they are typically costly.

Many community centers or public parks offer barbecue grills, where you could make hot dogs and hamburgers for the kids. Then they can play on the playground equipment, use the pool (if applicable) or enjoy organized games that you set up and oversee. Check with the park or center about the reservation process and any rules or restrictions they may have.

Your own backyard can become a safe playground. You can cookout or order pizza, play games or rent a bounce house.

Fun-and-Game Related

Amusement parks, miniature golf courses, go-kart tracks, laser tag or paintball complexes, skating rinks and bowling alleys are all possible places to host a birthday party for your child where the clean up and entertainment are taken care of for you. Many of these examples work best for older children and teens. To cut down on costs, consider limiting the number of guests.

Experience-Related

Consider offering an experience for your child and her friends. Younger children might enjoy a trip to the zoo. Museums offer a learning experience that many kids enjoy, particularly if you choose a children's museum. Many cities have companies or locations that specialize in themed parties such as superhero, princess or tea parties. Taking the children to a dude ranch or stable for riding lessons might offer an acceptable substitution for your child if a pony on the wish list is not feasible. Art and pottery studios generally offer party specials for which the kids can receive a lesson and/or create and paint their own pieces. This easily takes care of providing something for the children to do as well as a favor for each child to take home. For a tween or young teen, consider letting the kids go to the movies or romp through the local mall by themselves for a few hours, particularly if they've never been allowed to. Get permission from each parent, set specific ground rules, and make sure at least one of the kids has a cell phone so you can easily get in touch. Give them each a little bit of cash for food, snacks or general shopping. Add excitement to the trip by creating a scavenger hunt.

Homemade Paintball Equipment

Paintball is a rugged sport and expensive equipment is usually necessary to participate. Paintball guns can cost $500 and paintball-specific clothing can cost up to $100. Ammunition, CO2 cartridges, goggles and other equipment necessary for play can put quite a dent into your wallet. However, some money can be saved by finding homemade replacements for equipment.

Paintball Guns

Paintball guns come in many varieties. Building your own depends on what kind of equipment you have available and how much regard you have for your own safety. These guns have been made from exhaust pipes, PVC and sheet metal. PVC seems to be the cheapest and most popular material. However, PVC is not pressure-tested and using a PVC gun can cause serious injury. Combustion-style designs and air guns are slightly safer but still pose a risk. There are various sites online to help you create your own gun but in the end the only safe gun is one bought from a store.

Paintball Armor

Besides goggles and ear protection, other paintball armor is not necessary for play. However, paintballs can hurt and often cause bruises and welts. Layering clothing is helpful but will not always reduce the pain inflicted from close range. Paintball armor bought at stores can be rather expensive and often covers only the chest. For a simple and cheap alternative, go to a thrift store and find a parka or other thick coat. Fake leather may not look cool but it will afford premium protection against paintballs. Wearing a jacket will protect your chest, back and arms. Most paintball armor only provides a chest plate. Other designs have been made by layering household items such as saran wrap, shower curtains and tarps. However, these are usually very uncomfortable and can cause dehydration.

Paintball Grenades

Accessories such as mines and grenades can be bought at stores but paintball players have been making these themselves since before they have been marketed. Paintball grenades can be made from simple water balloons. These, unfortunately, are difficult to transport without breaking. A sturdier alternative to balloons is to use surgical-grade nylon tubing. Though this will be slightly more expensive, your grenades will not backfire on you.

The Best Kind Of Paintball Gun

There are many efficient and accurate paintball guns on the market. However, knowing which type of gun is the best is a hard thing to do. Each brand and gun will have its own advantages and disadvantages. Some will be cheaper, some will have a heavier barrel and some will be more efficient; the preference of these different qualities depends on the user. The Dye NT is the most advanced in terms of accuracy, efficiency and firing speed.

About the Dye NT Paintball Gun

This new and improved Dye paintball gun, researched and developed for four years, is the smallest and lightest Dye marker invented at 1.6 lbs. It has a low pressure system at 130 psi, resulting in a low kick and quieter gun than the average paintball gun.

Its 14-inch aluminum barrel is the ideal length for accuracy and velocity, and with the minimized recoil system of the Dye NT this gun also has increased stability. It is great for tournament play or friendly play; however, its design and qualities make it a gun potentially used by tournament players all over the world.

It can generate 1,500 to 1,700 shots, depending on its bolt configuration, and has a technology to decrease the number of paintballs broken in the barrel. An automatic shutoff system is installed in every gun that cuts off the shot chamber as soon as enough air is released to shoot a ball. This ensures that no air or pressure will be wasted, making it one of the most efficient guns on the market.

Other Guns

Along with the Dye NT, there are other guns that have proven to be efficient and accurate. Such brand names are Tippman, Spyder and Angel. Each brand has a combination of accurate shooting, high velocity, high efficiency and light weight. According to Paintballguns.net, when looking to find the best paintball gun or best type of gun, one should look at the accuracy, efficiency, upgrade ability and the value of the gun.

Wear A Respirator For Gun Shooting Lead Protection

At a shooting range, lead dust is created as guns are fired and when lead projectiles fragment against backstops, walls, floors or baffles. Lead dust settles on floors, shooting benches and other surfaces.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report that although lead can enter the body by absorption through the skin or ingestion, absorption is highest when it is breathed in.

According to the Mayo Clinic, lead poisoning symptoms include fatigue, headache, abdominal pain, memory loss, mood disorders, reduced sperm count and miscarriage or premature birth in pregnant women.

Since even low levels of lead exposure can be hazardous over time, it is important to wear a properly fitted lead dust respirator at the shooting range to help protect you from lead poisoning.

Instructions

Don the Respirator

1. Attach the filter cartridges to the mask, following the manufacturer's instructions. This typically involves seating each filter in the attach point and turning it a quarter turn to the stop.

2. Place your chin into the bottom cup of the mask and rotate the top part of the mask up to cover your nose.

3. Place the head strap on your head, just above your ears. Tighten the strap until the mask is snug against your face.

4. Adjust the neck strap behind your neck to help keep the lower half of the mask secure.

Check the Seal

5. Perform a positive pressure seal test by covering the outlet valve with the palm of your hand and exhaling. Air should not escape around the edges of the mask.

6. Perform a negative pressure seal test by covering the filter cartridge inlets with the palms of your hands and inhaling. Hold your breath for a few seconds. The face mask should collapse slightly against your face without leaking.

7. If the mask leaks during either seal test, reposition the mask on your face and tighten the straps. Repeat the tests. If you can't achieve a seal, you may need a different size face mask.

The Best Cz75b Handgun Sights

The CZ-75B is the most widely used handgun in the world.

According to CZ-USA, the CZ-75B is the most prolific handgun in the world among governments, military powers, police and private security agencies. The pistol was designed in 1975 and comes in a variety of sub types. The CZ-75B is a .40-caliber model pistol with a 10-round magazine capacity. It features a steel frame and plastic grips. Although the CZ-75B comes with fixed sights, there are a number of aftermarket sights that can improve the weapon's performance.

Adjustable Target Sights

The standard factory sights on a CZ-75B are fixed and cannot be moved to adjust for windage or elevation. The rear sight can be removed and replaced with an adjustable sight that can adjust for both windage and elevation. Adjustable sights are most commonly used for target shooting, and are typically not installed on service weapons. Adjustable rear sights are also among the most affordable option, and can cost as little as $45 online at a store like Brownells.

Night Sights

Night sights use a chemical reaction built into green or yellow diodes to illuminate three dots that make up the sight picture. Night sights are more expensive, costing about $100 per set. Unlike adjustable sights, night sights are fixed and cannot be tuned for competition. Trijicon and Meprolite are two of the world's biggest manufacturers of night sights. Both make models specific to the CZ-75B.

Red Dot Scopes

Red dot scopes are becoming small enough that they fit on the rear sight of modern handguns. Most red dot scopes project an electronic dot onto a screen or tube that allows the shooter to have fast target acquisition and follow-up shots. Red dot scopes usually require a special mount. It's a good idea to consult with a professional gunsmith to see which models will fit the CZ-75B, and whether any permanent modifications need to be made for it to properly fit the weapon.

Fixed Three-Dot Sights

Upgrading the standard iron sight with high-visibility three-dot sights is an economical way to improve your CZ-75B. Since the CZ-75 uses a dovetail insert to install the factory sights, many kinds of three-dot sights are available as options. These include bar sights, which include a U-shaped bar in the rear and a single rectangle post in the front, or a "straight eight" alignment in which a dot in the rear and a dot in the front create a figure 8 when properly aligned. Experiment with different types of sights to find one that works best for you.

Mount A Gun Scope

There are different types of rifle scopes and different ways to mount them. Make sure your choice of rifle scope is appropriate for your needs. Some are more appropriate for target shoot--some more for hunting. Whichever type of scope you choose, solid mounting is paramount in delivering accurate, reliable shots.

Instructions

Mounting

1. Have your rifle professionally drilled and tapped to mount a rail if it is not already. Some rifles come ready for scope mounting. If not, yours needs to be modified.

2. Determine the diameter of your scope tube. Most come in one inch or 30mm. Purchase scope rings appropriate for your rifle and mounting system. A professional gunsmith can help you figure this out. Rings are marketed in categories and can be ordered or purchased directly based on your rifle model and tube size.

3. Acquire a scope mounting rail that fits your rifle model or the configuration you have had the rifle drilled and tapped. There are different types of rails. A classic Weaver-style rail offers versatility in changing scopes later.

4. Mount the scope rail firmly on your rifle using the correct screwdriver(s) or wrenches. Allen wrenches are frequently packaged with mounting rings.

5. Affix the bottom portions of scope rings onto the rail. This may require a screwdriver or Allen wrenches depending on the rings you've chosen.

6. Place your scope onto the mounting rings. Make sure your scope is facing the correct direction. If you look through the scope and everything looks tiny, turn it around the other way. Place the top portions of rings over the scope and loosely affix to the lower ring sets using the Allen wrench. Tighten them enough to be somewhat snug, but loose enough you can slide the scope within the rings.

7. Shoulder the rifle and check to make sure you are comfortable with the eye relief. This might require you move the scope forward or rearward to see through it well. When the eye relief is set, make sure your crosshairs are perfectly vertical and horizontal. Verify your relief is still good and tighten the ring set.

The Best Camouflage Color To Wear At Night

Camouflage fabric is designed to hide the wearer in a natural setting.

Camouflage is a type of clothing characterized by a randomized pattern of grays, greens and browns commonly found in nature, designed to hide the wearer in a natural setting. Camouflage clothing was originally developed for use by the military, but it is also a common sight on outdoor sports enthusiasts, such as hunters, fishers and paintball players. Night camouflage uses the same randomized pattern of natural colors, in darker shades, to disguise the wearer in a dim environment. Does this Spark an idea?

Typical Night Camouflage Colors

In general, night camouflage uses similar colors to regular camouflage, with respect to the presumed nighttime environment of the wearer. Brown yellow khaki, green brown, olive drab, neutral gray, beige, red brown, dark chestnut, charcoal, dark slate gray and fern green are all common camouflage colors that are found on night camouflage in darker shades. The military also developed desert night time camouflage, which features a grid pattern of khaki and beige and was designed to hide the wearer from enemy night vision devices. This design and color pattern has since been designated obsolete because of the advances in night vision technology and poor field testing.

Environmental Considerations

The environment where you intend to wear your night camouflage is another factor determining what colors of night camouflage you should look for. The majority of camouflage is designed for a forest environment, which comes in handy for hunters or paintball enthusiasts who generally find themselves in such a location. The colors typically used in "Green Temperate" camouflage are green, beige, brown and dark gray. There is also winter camouflage, which incorporates white and gray into the design, and desert camouflage which is more beige and khaki based. Urban camouflage is a slightly more complex area of coloration, and is relatively new to the camouflage world. It generally utilizes a gray palette, which would be made darker for a nighttime environment.

Why Not Solid Black?

Wearing a solid color at night actually makes you more visible, as it defines your silhouette against a non-solid color background. The average nighttime environment isn't actually solid black, but rather a combination of various dark shades. Another aspect to take into consideration is how solid black shows up in a near infrared camera, which is often used at night in military operations, as well as by hunters and at paintball games. Solid black appears as bright white in a near infrared camera, making the wearer stick out more than if they were wearing duller shades.

Military Guns & Swords

Many times military swords bear a mark of their maker.

For those who find military history irresistible, the collection of military guns and swords provides both personal enjoyment and sometimes profit. Whether the weapon selected involves an antique musket or a civil war saber, the search, evaluation, and finally collection of the items can seem like a wonderful treasure hunt. And it repeats with each new weapon collected.

Starting Out

To begin collecting, a person doesn't just go out to the local military surplus and find a Revolutionary War rifle. First, the beginner needs to make a determination what guns and/or swords he or she wants to collect. There are so many periods and variations, unless a person is a millionaire, he or she won't be able to come close to finding them all. Even some millionaires are challenged in completing their collections as well. Instead, many collectors focus on a particular period and weapon type. Some choose pistols, others daggers, still others swords and sabers. Each period generally provides a rich history not just in the use of the weapon but also the history involved in its production.

Swords Versus Guns

Is one weapon better than another for collecting? Not really. Much depends on personal choice. However, swords tend to be more prolific in earlier time periods since they served a more functional purpose prior to the automatic gun. During the age of single shot rifles and guns, particularly when reloading took a bit, a sword in close combat was very effective. Thus they are more likely to be found and they very likely were used rather than just owned for ceremonial purposes.

Guns and firearms range from the early musketball range finders to automatic weapons of modern wars. Handguns frequently end up in collections because they are easier to manage, smaller, and can be displayed easier. Rifles tend to be sought by shooting connoisseurs, especially those who would like to restore an old rifle and actually use it at a shooting range.

Legalities

One major difference between collecting firearms versus swords tends to be firearm laws. Regardless of how old a firearm may be, the owner needs to be registered as a documented gun license holder. This law can be found in all 50 states, with increased variations depending on how lethal the weapon is. In some cases, some automatic firearms are entirely outlawed from private ownership due to their lethal capability.

Purchasing firearms is restricted as well. Legally, military guns and any firearms can only be bought from a licensed gun dealer. Private sales are highly problematic, especially if the weapon doesn't have documented history. In terms of modern age, military gun collectors are limited to weapons that have already been aged out of use by the military. Current grade weapons are not allowed to be purchased under most federal and state laws.

Finally any owned firearms also need to be registered. A collector can be arrested for having a firearm that is not documented. Swords, on the other hand, don't have the above complications when it comes to purchasing and ownership.

Firearm Collector Tip

Given the laws on firearms, it helps a collector to have a federal license specific to collecting curios and relics. This type of license stays valid for a three year period and the application only costs a small fee. The benefit of having this kind of license allows a collector to buy military firearms made prior to 1968 via firearm distributors versus retail dealers. The price difference can be significant, leaving more funds for other collection targets.

The Challenge of Sword Collecting

Swords by their nature are personal weapons. Their history includes historic manual craftsmanship and use. Because of these elements, swords jump and fall in prices depending on their history. Many times the challenge of finding military swords may not be so much the availability but rather being able to find a certain type at an affordable price. Particularly hard-to-obtain swords tend to be weapons that were held by famous military officers during times of war.

Practice Paintball Snapshooting

Paintball snapshooting is one of the fundamentals of a paintball game. Snapshooting is normally done when your opponents are close in proximity to you. Snapshooting is used mostly when playing on air ball or speed ball fields. These games are quick and action-packed.

Instructions

1. Practice paintball snapshooting when you are at home shooting your paintball gun by yourself. Find a place where you can be concealed. Concealment is a crucial part of snapshooting successfully. A snapshot requires you to move quickly out and back in, firing one or two shots max before concealing yourself again. Practice this technique until you hit your target consistently.

2. Use another technique to practice paintball snapshooting. Get a friend to practice with you. When paintballs are coming at you, you move more quickly than normal. Know where your opponent is shooting from and practice the snapshot on him while he returns fire. You must learn snapshoot from the right and left sides of bunkers.

3. Go to an air ball field to practice paintball snapshooting. Pick out a bunker on the opposite side of the paintball field from where you are standing. Choose a spot on that bunker and practice coming out of the right and left sides of the bunker you are standing behind, snapshooting the spot you've picked out consistently. Keep practicing until you hit it consistently.

4. Stand and kneel alternately when you practice paintball snapshooting. Both snapshooting positions are necessary to master in order to be successful in paintball.

Assemble A Tac5 Paintball Gun

A Tac-5 Paintball gun is a sophisticated weapon, although safer than a real gun, as it only shoots balls of paint. The numerous internal components require constant maintenance that only can be done by disassembling the Tac-5 before cleaning it. Assembling a Tac-5 paintball gun so it can be used again requires a few tools but no special skill. The reassembly can be completed in less than an hour.

Instructions

1. Put a bath towel on a table.

2. Place the bottom shell of the Tac-5 on the bath towel. Point the front where the barrel would go to the right.

3. Insert the trigger assembly into the trigger guard on the bottom shell. Attach the screws to the trigger assembly with the Phillips screwdriver.

4. Insert the hammer into the top-left side of the bottom shell. Attach the screws to the hammer with the Phillips screwdriver.

5. Put the top shell onto the bottom shell of the Tac-5. Attach the screw in front of the trigger guard with the Phillips screwdriver.

6. Attach the screws to the top-back edge of the Tac-5 near the hammer, at the top-middle edge and at the top-front edge with the Phillips screwdriver.

7. Push the gun barrel into the top of the Tac-5 from the front end. Continue pushing the gun barrel until it clicks into position.

8. Put the piston chamber on the bath towel with the open side facing up. Put one end of the spring over the hub inside of the left side of the piston chamber. Put the other end of the spring over the hub inside of the right side of the piston chamber.

9. Put the piston chamber into the open compartment at the top of the Tac-5.

10. Cock the hammer back with your fingers. Slide the sliding plate onto the top of the Tac-5 from the front.

11. Attach the screw in front of the hammer with the Phillips screwdriver. Release the hammer with your fingers.

Lighten A Trigger Pull

The pull strength of a trigger varies from gun to gun.

Gun collecting and shooting is a favored pastime of many people throughout the world. Like equipment for other hobbies or sports, each participant prefers a certain type of gun, and certain specifications for each. Trigger pull is one of those specifications that vary from person to person. Manufacturers tend to install a pretty heavy trigger pull on their weapons, meaning that it takes a fair amount of pressure on the trigger to fire the gun. This high trigger pull rate can reduce the chance of accidents. However, some experienced shooters prefer a lighter pull, and with the right tools and techniques users can lighten the pull on their triggers.

Instructions

Procedure

1. Make sure that your gun is not loaded; never try to make adjustments to a loaded gun, or else you risk injuring yourself or someone nearby.

2. Lay the gun in front of you so that the barrel is facing your right. There you will see three screws: the bottom left is the engagement screw, the top right is the over travel screw and the bottom right is the trigger pull screw. Determine what type of screw driver you need for the job (straight or Allen head) and have that at hand.

3. Scrape away any glue or adhesive that is holding the screws in place with a plastic or metal scraper. Remove as much adhesive as possible to make moving the screws easier.

4. Place one to two drops of gun oil over the screws and unscrew them, moving them in and out of their holes a few times to thoroughly soak the threads in gun oil. This will make your adjustments later much easier to handle. Replace the screws to their original places once they are coated in gun oil.

5. Pull the trigger pull screw back out of its socket slightly. Test the trigger pull as you go; pull it back until the pressure on the trigger is very light. You will adjust this level to your preference later.

6. Unscrew both the over travel screw and engagement screw four to five turns to allow for some adjustment and movement freedom.

7. Close the bolt on the top of the gun, but do not pull the trigger. Slowly screw the engagement screw back into its socket. Continue to push on the engagement screw until the firing pins drops into the fired position. Back the screw out by 1/3 of a turn and tap on the trigger; it should wiggle back and forth easily.

8. Screw in the over travel screw slowly, until it just touches the trigger very lightly. Back the screw out by 1/4 turn; this should prevent the trigger from wiggling as it was before.

9. Turn the trigger pull screw as tightly as you prefer for your trigger pull strength; test the pull with your fingers or with a pull gauge to make sure you get your preferred pull strength.

Safety Check

10. Open and slam the bolt of the gun at least 12 times, checking each time to make sure the firing pin does not drop; if it does, the gun has misfired. If the pin drops, pull the engagement screw out 1/4 turn and try again, until the firing pin does not fall.

11. Cock the gun and set the safety, and then pull and release the trigger. Release the safety. Repeat this check at least 12 times to make sure the firing pin does not drop with the safety on; if it does, the gun has misfired. Tighten the trigger pull screw by 1/4 turn if the pin does drop and try again, until the firing pin does not fall.

12. Coat the screws in red or white nail polish, allow the coat to dry, and then apply a second coat. This nail polish will replace the adhesive that you scraped off earlier, securing the screws in their new setting.

Make The Wheel On A Six Gun Spin

Revolver cylinders should be able to spin freely during loading.

A six gun, more commonly known as a revolver because of the revolving cylinder that holds its bullets, is a classic type of firearm that's often associated with the American West. Though the six gun is a very durable style of gun, the component parts and pieces must work together smoothly. For this reason, it's good to make sure the cylinder (the wheel in the six gun) spins freely on the axle.

Instructions

1. Press the switch that releases the cylinder. On modern revolvers, this switch is located on the left side of the gun. You should be able to push it with your thumb while holding the gun in the firing position.

2. Press on the cylinder from the right side with your left hand while the switch is held down. The cylinder should swing out on a lever arm and hang free.

3. While holding the gun in your right hand, press the thumb of your left hand against the cylinder. Spin the cylinder. It should spin freely when you move your thumb.

Become An Airsoft Gun Dealer

Airsoft is a team sport that attempts to simulate the conditions of a real-life firefight. The game uses replica weapons that shoot 6 mm plastic BBs. Since the sport's popularity has expanded in the U.S., many retailers are trying to import and distribute airsoft guns.

Instructions

1. Obtain a business license from your local authorities. In order to legally import and distribute, you must first have permission from the proper channels to operate a business. Most wholesalers also will not ship products to you without proof of a valid license.

2. Determine your market. Since airsoft guns come in many different types and levels of quality, knowing what you are likely to sell the most of allows you to maximize your future profit.

3. Contact an online wholesaler. While calling each individual company may save a few dollars in the long run, placing a monthly order with an online wholesaler can save a lot of time and energy. The wholesaler will do all of the legwork for you without all that much markup on the product, and should a problem arise, it means only one party is responsible. Some wholesalers require a dealer application; if this is the case, simply fill in the application and submit it.

4. Place a wholesale order for the guns you want in your inventory.

5. Set prices for each item and then open for business.

The Advantages Of Barrel Length On A Paintball Gun

An paintballer takes aim.

The original paintball guns were pistols with barrels that were 4 to 6 inches long. One of the first common modifications were barrel extensions that added length. As paintball gun designs evolved, interchangeable barrels quickly became standard. This led to experiments with lengths and designs, looking for the best compromise of accuracy, efficiency, and maneuverability. After 30 years, there is still no "best" standard, but players can decide what works best for them based on several criteria.

Lengths

Paintball gun barrels are typically offered in even lengths, with the common mass-produced lengths being 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch, 14-inch, and 16-inch. This is based on raw materials length and minimizing unusable leftovers. 11-inch and 13-inch barrels have been produced and sold but those are uncommon, as are barrels that are 18 inches or longer.

Accuracy

This player takes aim on an X-ball field.

The biggest reason most players change paintball gun barrels is to improve accuracy. A common notion is that longer barrels shoot straighter. This is partly a myth. Tests show that accuracy is not determined by the barrel length. Accuracy is a product of consistency, using good-quality paint that snugly fits the inside of the barrel. However, a longer barrel may help a player aim more precisely due to increased sight radius, or the distance between the back of the gun and the tip of the barrel. This leads to the perception that a longer barrel is more accurate.

Efficiency

A 12-inch ported barrel is a good choice for efficiency.

Tests by Airgun Designs and Palmers Pursuit Shop indicate that for best efficiency (shots per a given volume of propellant), 8- to 10-inch nonported barrels are ideal. Paintball guns shooting carbon dioxide benefit from slightly longer barrels than ones shooting compressed air.

Maneuverability

A good barrel won't slow you down!

When handling a paintball gun, the longer the barrel, the more careful you must be about bumping it into obstacles or sticking it in the ground. Also, a long barrel made of a heavier metal, such as steel or brass, can make your paintball gun front-heavy and slower to aim, which can be a disadvantage in a fast-moving game. However, in games with lots of brush or with inflatable bunkers, you can use a longer barrel to avoid exposing yourself to opponents.

Cost

For most mass-produced barrels, there is not a notable cost difference based on length. An 8-inch aluminum barrel costs approximately the same as a 14-inch aluminum barrel from the same manufacturer. However, differences in cost and materials do come into play with 16-inch and longer barrels. For example, aluminum typically costs less than stainless steel, which costs less than carbon fiber.

Strategize In Laser Tag

Some laser tag players are satisfied if they can hit a target and make it to the end of a game, still standing, but not you! If you've delved into some of the more complex arena game formats or have joined an outdoor league, you're ready for some team-building tips. Learn to strategize to your individual and team advantage, and take your laser tag game to the next exciting level.

Instructions

Create a Solo Strategy

1. Conceal yourself from enemies. They can't shoot you if they can't see you. Indoors, wear dark, blendable clothes, nothing white (stands out under black light) or interactive with black light (such as certain hair gels or face paint). Outdoors, camouflage works well.

2. Use others as shields. When leaving a home base, move with the group. Don't be first or last to enter the field of play.

3. Keep moving. Continuous, random movement keeps your body sensors in motion, making them harder to hit. It also puts you in firing range of your enemies so you can score points.

4. Know the terrain. Case the arena or playing field for hiding spots and defensive cover.

5. Be aggressive. You win more points for making a tag than you lose points for being tagged.

Create a Team Strategy

6. Strategize a few basic plays, as in football. Give each team member a place in the lineup and devise various ways to move about the playing field. Label them for easy recognition, such as A, B and C.

7. Let your team know before each game whether you'll be moving out in A, B or C formation.

8. Use one team member as "bait" to make an easy target while the rest of you surround the opposing players.

9. Designate two team members to double back, one on each side boundary, and then move toward the center for a surprise attack on your enemies.

10. Use two-way radios set to a secret frequency for team contact in outdoor laser tag. Let teammates know that you've reached a location, been tagged or captured the flag.

11. Strategize by anticipating your opponents' moves. Have a contingency plan, for "if they do this, we'll to do that."

Choose An Airsoft Gun

The type of airsoft gun you need depends on the type of airsoft game you play and whether you play competitively. Many different guns are available and it's best to choose your gun by examining your own playing style and desires so you can get the most for your money.

Instructions

1. Research different types of airsoft guns and product ratings. The main types of airsoft guns are spring-action, electric and pressurized gas and these come in five different styles; handgun, shotgun, rifle, machine gun and sniper rifle.

2. Determine your playing needs. The type of airsoft gun you need depends on if you are playing competitively or just for fun. Consider your budget constraints as well.

3. Practice shooting different guns in designated fields to get a feel for what you like best. Ask your teammates and friends if you can use their airsoft guns to test them out and ask for their opinions on the different guns they have used.

4. Visit a local store that carries airsoft supplies and ask for help from a salesperson. Tell them about your playing situation and they can help you determine the type of airsoft gun you need.

5. Consider starting out with a used airsoft gun. You can save money or have extra money leftover to purchase additional used guns. Purchasing more than one gun allows you to play and use the gun on a regular basis so you can tell if it's the right one for you.

Shooting Games To Play Online With Other People

The avid keyboard soldier has a wide variety of shoot-'em-ups available to him online. While solo play can be fun and LAN parties with small groups are a challenge, you can make use of the Internet to join massive shooting games and play with people worldwide.

Competitive games

The most common type of online shooting game is the competitive game. This is normally a first-person shooter that allows for various styles of play such as "capture the flag" or "deathmatch." In these games other players are your competition and teammates, as you attempt to win the game by accomplishing battlefield objectives and kill your foes. Popular titles such as Counterstrike and EA's Battlefield series fall into this category. Many online games have ranking systems and other persistent stat-tracking to show you how well you fare against other players and how your skills are improving.

Cooperative

Less common, but no less popular, are the cooperative-style shooting games available for online play. These games allow you to take teams of players and face all the horrors that the game has to throw at you. Doom 3 and Resistance 2 fall into this category. Your objective in this type of game is to see your team survive and reach its goal. You will be battling hordes of computer-controlled demons, zombies, and other gruesome creatures in a normally linear fashion to beat the game.

Free-to-Play

While most games are commercially released and can be expensive to start, Free-to-Play games allow you to jump into the action with only a simple download. These can be competitive or cooperative games, but are often ad-supported or allow micro-payments to upgrade your character's look or abilities. Nexon's Combat Arms and Battlefield Heroes from EA are examples of this type of series. Exteel from NCSoft is a game that offers both competitive and co-op modes without any initial cost. All of these games are great options for getting together with your friends online, and even making new brothers in arms, for at least a few hours.

Run With Flat Feet

Having flat feet (or "pes planus" or "fallen arches") does not automatically disqualify you from running. If you use your flat feet as an excuse why not to go for your marathon dream, it most likely is only your problem and not the problem of your flat feet. I myself have so flat feet that even the army of my country of origin refused to enroll me into the (otherwise mandatory) military service. However, I have completed multiple marathons (PB 3:31:02), and with a little bit of cautious care I am able to run as if having no problems with my flat feet at all. So here I would like to offer my best advice, based on my own experience, care for your flat feet and keep up with even very ambitious running plans.

Instructions

1. If you have flat feet then proper running shoes are THE MUST, without them you are doomed to fail. I will not elaborate too much on the shoes, please look at my dedicated article. But without the proper shoes nothing else will be enough to prevent the horrible pain caused by the fallen arches. On the other hand, even the best shoes just by themselves are not enough for people suffering from flat feet to keep running. Please read further.

2. Get good insoles into your running shoes. This is very important. Running shoes are made with more or less support, but they never have enough support for people with flat feet. Usually the shoes come with some sort of insoles which can provide extra support, but for hopeless cases like me it has been never enough. Insoles or inserts are the necessary complement of the running shoe. The best is to get the insoles in the same store where you get your shoes at the same time you actually buy your shoes, so you can try how they fit. Usually the insoles for flat feet have more support and thus elevate your foot a bit higher then the original inserts provided by the shoe manufacturer. Therefore not all insoles or inserts may feel equally comfortable in all shoes and you will have to find the best combination. The insoles have to fit exactly, otherwise they can cause blisters by rubbing your foot with the edges of the insole, or just by the insole sliding back and forth in the shoe during running. Again as with buying the running shoes, an expert advice by a qualified personnel can make the difference. Good insoles cost about 30$. They last pretty much as long as the running shoe itself, and for people like me it is definitely a great investment.

3. Now you have the shoes and the insoles. You should get out and run. And boy, it will hurt !!! Yes, first 3 or 4 runs will hurt quite a lot. Your arches will be in flames, and you will have to gather all your mental strength to overcome the initial pain. But it is definitely worth it. It is just the sign that your fallen arches are forced to get up and adapt to a good support provided by your new shoe and the insoles. It is actually a good pain and it won't last long, I promise. Don't plan on any speed exercise or power run, just go for easy slow jog and concentrate just on your foot steps.

4. When your run is over you need to stretch a bit like after every other run. But you, as a runner with flat feet, should also stretch your arches, especially if they hurt so much. The best way is to sit on a chair and lay a towel on the floor in front of you. Put your feet on the towel and try to grab and lift the towel with the toes of one foot. Grab and lift, grab and lift ... don't worry if you can't actually grab the towel each time you try. Just repeat the exercise as if you are holding the towel tight with your toes. Try it 10 times with each foot and repeat whole series 3 times. Your arches will hurt again, but it will be a different pain, more like sore muscles. You are making huge progress.

5. Do not hesitate to imitate "towel lifting exercise" anytime you remember. When you watch TV or take a shower it is a very good time to stretch your fallen arches and toes.

6. After 3-5 days of painful running and exercising you are almost there. The pain will get weaker and weaker. One day you will run and realize that you do not feel your arches at all. Congratulations !! Now you can run ... BUT ... don't forget you are still a runner with flat feet. You always will be !! There is no way to get really rid of it, but there are ways to go around it. So think of how you got to this point. The essentials were good shoes, special insoles, exercise and your will to overcome the initial pain while running with flat feet. You should think of it in the "outside of running" life as well. In fact my experience is that the best shoes for walking are worn-out running shoes. This is not always practical so at least wear insoles in your "regular" shoes as much as possible.

7. If you succeed and run without troubles for several months and suddenly your arch pains get back, maybe it is a sign that your shoes or insoles are being worn-out. I would recommend to intensify your towel lifting exercise, but sooner rather than later I would buy new shoes and insoles. At the end, for a true runner even his or her flat feet are the most precious body parts ;-)

Ideas For A Bachelor Party

Poker is a classic bachelor party activity.

A bachelor party is a traditional event for the groom and his male friends. The best man usually plans the party since he is often the closest to the groom, but it can be collaboration with a group of friends, or arranged by a party planner. You can plan a bachelor party to fulfill the whims of the groom--he may have something specific in mind, so it is best to ask him what type of party he expects.

Take a Trip

Limos are a luxurious way to travel with the boys.

Hire a professional planner and let the party planner handle all the details of the bachelor party. Fly your guests to a party destination such as Mexico, Las Vegas or Toronto. Rent a limousine and have a rolling bachelor party. Go from a nice restaurant to a nightclub and then land at a nice hotel to recover or continue the festivities.

Adventure Bachelor Parties

Hit the rapids with the boys, but if you are new to white water, go with a guide.

Take the groom to a paintball field to release stress. If it's a surprise, be kind enough to tell him to wear a long-sleeved shirt and pants. Have the bachelor party jump from a plane at a sky diving facility. Fulfill a fantasy by heading out to a ranch to ride horses and rope cattle. White water rafting or rock climbing are other male bonding experiences to have before walking down the aisle.

Budget Ideas

Go camping. Pitch tents or rent cabins and enjoy joking and reminiscing around the campfire. Play cards. Set up a table, provide snack foods, alcohol and cigars. Put the table on your deck or in you backyard if you don't want the smells to linger beyond the night of the party.

Roast the groom. Set up a podium and microphone, and let the guests rip on the man of the hour. Have a college-style night of drinking games. Play quarters, beer pong or up the creek.

Sports

Sign up for a trip around a race track. Shoot hoops with the pros, throw a football, attend batting practice, meet golf or tennis pros depending on the groom's favorite sport.

Tac 5m Paintball Gun Adjustments

Paintball's appeal is the ability to personalize the paintball marker.

The TAC-5M Recon paintball marker by JT is a great entry level marker for the scenario and woods ball player. The marker has been re-engineered to resemble the legendary Tippmann Custom 98 in look, feel and firing cycle. The improvements have lifted this marker out of the economy level into a position which will compete with much more expensive paintball markers.

Instructions

Cosmetic Adjustments

1. Decide on a budget for the project. The upgrades available for paintball markers are almost limitless. Knowing a budget can simplify the decision-making process.

2. The TAC-5M Recon is a military simulation marker with built-in accessory mounting rails. Parts which can be added to the marker for cosmetic adjustments include longer barrels, barrel shrouds and bi-pods. The rear of the marker will accept a stationary, folding or adjustable shoulder stock. Most players want to add a drop forward and on-off valve to the air supply system for better balance.

3. High performance cosmetic adjustments include scopes, laser sites and barrel-mounted flashlights for night play. The marker will also accept a cosmetic M-16 style ammo magazine

4. A remote air supply hose can be added to the marker's air supply fitting. This coiled hose allows the player to carry the compressed air tank in a vest or pod pack carried around the players waist. By mounting the tank in a vest of pack, the JT TAC-5M is lighter and easier to carry.

Performance Adjustments

5. Two simple upgrades will significantly improve the accuracy and rate of fire of any paintball marker. The first is a barrel. The barrel's length will not affect the accuracy of the marker, but the barrel's quality will. High performance, multi-part barrel kits are available from many manufacturers. Micro-honed ceramic barrels are produced as are rifled barrels, which give the paintball the truest trajectory.

6. The second performance upgrade is a motorized loader. By adding a motorized loader, the paintballs load into the marker faster, enabling higher rates of fire. The motorized loader also prevent paintballs from jambing as they enter the marker, eliminating misfires and virtually eliminating "ball chopping" in the firing chamber.

7. Finally, the amount of air used by the marker during the firing cycle will adjust the speed at which the paintball flies toward a target. The TAC-5M has a speed adjustment screw on the side of the marker body. Make sure to follow manufacturer instructions on adjusting the internal air pressure and follow field regulations for maximum FPS settings.

Fill An Air Compressor

Connect an air tool to your air compressor before filling the tank.

Air compressors have many uses around the home or workshop. You can use an air compressor to power air tools like staple guns, nailers and rivet guns or to fill tires and other inflatable objects. To use an air compressor, you must first fill its tank to full capacity. Once full, the compressor will cycle on and off to maintain the correct tank pressure, as long as you don't use a tool or combination of tools that exceeds its capacity. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Plug your air compressor into an outlet near your work area.

2. Close the drain valve on the bottom of the air compressor tank by turning it clockwise until tight.

3. Connect an air hose to your air compressor and connect the other end of the air hose to your desired air tool.

4. Turn the power switch on the air compressor to the "on" position. Watch the gauge to see that the air pressure is filling up in the air compressor tank. Once the guage reads full, your air compressor is filled.

5. Set the regulator on the air compressor to the pressure indicated by the connected air tool's manufacturer. Turn the regulator clockwise to increase pressure and counterclockwise to decrease pressure.

Paintball Pvc Projects

Paintball guns can be expensive.

Paintball is a sport where players compete in a war-like environment. However, instead of using live guns and ammunition, players are shot by small paintballs. Paintball can be an expensive sport, as players must buy guns and targets to practice. However, by using relatively cheap PVC pipe, you can create a wide variety of cheap paintball projects.

Paintball Gun

Paintball players can create a cheap paintball gun using PVC pipe and other materials. Start by buying several inches of PVC pipe, some PVC caps, PVC cleaners, cement, ball valves, reducer bushing, seal tape and a Co2 valve. Make sure there are no holes or leaks in your pipes before beginning. Use the PVC pipes to create your gun. Make sure all ends, except for the barrel ends are stopped up by the PVC pipe caps. Place everything in place with cement and wrap the seal tape around the attached areas to avoid leaks. Carefully attach a Co2 valve to the barrel. The Co2 container can then be placed in this area to propel your paintballs. A small container can be placed on top of a small hole in the barrel. Fill this up with paintballs. Make sure only one paintball falls at a time to avoid confused shooting. Try out your own design to personalize your gun.

Silencer

A silencer can give paintball players an advantage in play by quieting the sounds of their shots. PVC pipe can make an excellent silencer. Players should measure the width of their barrel. They should find PVC pipe that is just a little bit wider than the pipe. About an 1/8th of an inch is fine. A little extra room helps ensure that the pipe fits snugly on the barrel and that it won't block the barrel. Players should then find a larger pipe that fits over this smaller pipe. These pipes should be attached with cement. Players drill holes throughout the larger pipe at random. These holes will disperse the sound out of the barrel without affecting the trajectory. The smaller pipe then fits over the barrel of the paintball gun snuggly and carefully.

Target

A PVC paintball target is very simple to make. Materials should include several feet of PVC pipe, some rope, cement, a large piece of particle board and some paper. Players decide on the size of their target first. The size depends on their needs. If they want a short range target, it can be a bit smaller. A long range target should be bigger so that it is easier to spot. Players take their PVC pipe and use it to craft the outward frame for their target. The elbow pipes help keep the pipes stuck together in a square frame. Players then cut holes in the particle board and attach it to the frame using the ropes. The ropes should be tight to make sure the target doesn't sag. Players can either draw a target on the particle board using markers or place a paper target on the board. Paper targets can be removed and evaluated for accuracy.

About Bunkers

About Bunkers

Bunkers are hardened shelters, either buried or partially underground. They are designed specifically to protect their inhabitants from disasters and can withstand several hundred pounds per square inch (psi). This decreases the chances of the structure being damaged by bombs or other attacks. Bunkers are very strong in physical compression and are usually made of steel-reinforced concrete. Does this Spark an idea?

History

Bunkers were used extensively in World Wars I and II and the Cold War. In 1939, the construction of the Maginot Line Bunker was completed on the eastern French border. The Fuhrerbunker, installed between 1936 and 1945 in Berlin, Germany, was where Adolph Hitler and his wife committed suicide during World War II. During the Cold War, bunkers were constructed in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

Function

The main function of bunkers is to protect people and goods from bombs, radiation, explosions and even severe weather. They are designed to deflect blast waves, preventing injury to people sheltering inside. Some bunkers are created as a place to perform military experiments or as storage units for radioactive and explosive items. Bunkers can house soldiers, weapons and ammunition, protecting them from counter-battery fire.

Types

There are many different types of bunkers in use today; including trench, pillbox, artillery, industrial and personal. Trench bunkers are small structures made of concrete and partially underground. They are usually part of a larger trench system and provide enhanced shelter to soldiers against enemy fire and aerial attack. Pillbox bunkers are dug in guard posts, usually camoflauged and made of concrete. They are designed to protect against enemy fire and grenades. Artillery bunkers are some of the largest bunkers in existence. They are used to house guns and soldiers and to protect ammunition. Industrial bunkers have many uses such as mining, storage and even living quarters. They were built mainly to protect important industries from aerial attack during wars. Personal bunkers are usually built into or beneath homes. They are most commonly designed to protect against radiation.

Features

A bunker's door must be at least as strong as its walls. Many bunkers incorporate a trap door to minimize the cost. The door is usually constructed of steel but very thick wood is sometimes used. Bunkers often have two doors that may double as ventilation shafts. Bunkers are normally underground facilities but may only be partially underground, as in trench bunkers.

Warning

Very powerful explosives, such as air-to-surface missiles, can damage or even destroy bunkers. Although they are built to withstand extremes, they cannot protect against all explosions or attacks. Flamethrowers can also be a danger to bunkers and their inhabitants. Crews in pillbox bunkers are especially susceptible to these weapons.

Effects

In modern times, functional bunkers can still be found, although their uses have changed since the days of the World Wars. In Switzerland, many houses still have thick, concrete doors deep within the basements. They are now used as safes or storage facilities more than the protective shelters they once were. In Israel, all buildings are required by the state to have bunkers or bomb shelters that meet strict safety requirements. In the United States, personal bunkers are becoming more popular as the fear of terrorism increases. Abandoned and unused bunkers are prevalent in Europe where wars once ravaged the land. Many of these bunkers are open to the public to be toured. However, some secret bunkers are still being discovered today. Many are unfit for human habitation.

Win At Paintball

With the sport of paintball having been ranked as one of the most popular sports in the world, we don't need to go into great detail to describe the game. For the novice, paintball can be described as a team sport played military style within "war games" scenarios.

Instructions

1. Win at paintball by choosing the right equipment. It's not necessary to buy the most expensive paintball gun on the market, but choose one that is well-built. Talk to experienced paintball players and ask what gun holds up the best over time. Discount stores carry cheap brands, but they sometimes jam during rapid fire, break and have to be replaced. If you want to be a successful paintball player, spend a bit more money and get a gun that will last. Choose a sturdy, well-built face mask, too. The better protected you feel, the more confident player you will be.

2. Make sure you purchase the right size paint ball for your gun barrel size. Paintball guns shoot a round ball of paint that serves as the "bullet." As you play the game, you're shooting at the enemy to take out as many as you can as quickly as you can. Standard barrel size fits a .68 caliber ball of paint. But manufacturer's brands can vary slightly in the size ball they make. Match your brand of paint to your gun barrel for greater accuracy if you want to win at paintball. You can buy different size barrels to fit your gun, or some guns take inserts that fit into the barrel to accommodate varying ball size.

3. Find a good front player for your team if you want to win at paintball. The front player must have speed to gain ground on the field, focus to accomplish the goal of pulling the flag and fearlessness to run the flag back for the win. He or she must be bold, confident and not afraid of the pain in getting shot.

4. Focus on the key position of back player. He or she works to hold the other team's players back, allowing the front player to do his job. Besides the front and back positions being well-covered, have good support players on the sides of the playing field who won't just run and hide, but will shoot to take out as many of the advancing enemy players as possible.

Start A Food Manufacturing Company

Starting a food business where you make and market your own culinary creations is a dream of many people. A way to make a great amount of profit in the food industry is by becoming a manufacturer. While starting a food manufacturing company will allow you to sell your products to the greatest number of customers possible, it also requires more planning than other types of food businesses.

Instructions

1. Decide what type of food you want to manufacture. You may choose to make and distribute confections, candies, powdered mixes, drinks, or ready-made meals.

2. Obtain a food handler's permit, food manufacturing permit, and food manager's permit from your state's health department. You will also need an assumed name certificate from your county clerk, in addition to filling as a corporation, limited liability corporation (LLC) or limited liability partnership (LLP) in your state.

3. Lease a warehouse space that is at least 1,200 square feet total---this can cost anywhere from $1,000 per month to $1,800 per month. You will likely need to build out the space to the health department's requirements for food manufacturing facilities. Alternatively, rent a commercial kitchen if one is available in your area.

4. Have the facility you're using to manufacture food inspected by the health department so that it can be cleared for use. Keep in mind that you will undergo occasional inspections, so you should make sure you always adhere to the department's guidelines.

5. Determine how you want to package your food products, and ensure that the packaging you choose is not only attractive and good for marketing, but FDA-approved for contact with food. Companies that sell food packaging include CPT Plastics, Ossid, and MeadWestVaco (MWV).

6. Set up a website listing basic information about the products you have available for distribution, your location and contact information. This will help not only consumers who want to research your products, but also distribution companies that are considering setting up an account with you.

7. Contact the food distribution companies in your area, and speak with them about setting up an account. This is essential, because without proper distribution of your products, you'll just be making food that sits around without being sold. Food distribution companies will buy your products in large quantities and then sell them to retail businesses wholesale.
