Plan A Paintball Party

Paintball parties are adrenaline-filled and messy fun.

Paintball parties are gaining popularity for bachelor or bachelorette functions, church and youth organization outings, birthday parties and team building activities for offices or corporations. The strategy, rapid action and adrenaline of paintball games appeal to novices and experts alike and offer the opportunity to build trust and teamwork, relieve stress or get an excellent workout. Create an intra- or inter-office rivalry, or host a bachelors-versus-bachelorettes party or a girls versus boys birthday extravaganza to experience the rush of paintball. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Contact venues in your area or locate a wooded area in which you can play. Learn any local codes or laws that could affect your party, and ensure paintball on either public or private property is allowed. Speak with officials at your local city hall for information on property laws, public spaces and other pertinent information. Visit local paintball fields' websites or speak with managers for group rates and the best days to host your party. Contact other group leaders in your area for recommendations on the best fields.

2. If renting time at a local paintball field, ask questions to ensure the venue can accommodate your anticipated number of guests and guardians. Ask about age restrictions, field policies, prices for group packages and group discounts. Discuss permissions or consents required, as well as any necessary waivers, and ask if you will be allowed to supply your own refreshments. Ask if gear rentals and paint are included in the prices quoted or if you are to supply your own. Ask how much paint is included with rentals. Most fields require reservations as well as a deposit for groups or parties and offer specials on bulk purchases of paint.

3. Make a guest list, ensuring everyone invited is old enough to play at the selected venue. Make or purchase invitations and include a separate sheet for information regarding any extra costs the guests may incur, if the guests will require parents or guardians and any pertinent information on field policies. Also indicate if refreshments will be served and ask guests to include any food allergies or dietary restrictions in their RSVP. Because paintballs are made primarily from vegetable oil, there is the potential for allergic reactions from the paint, too.

4. Discuss party plans with the venue manager, including decorations, refreshments and amenities that the location provides as well as those you must supply. Locate gear for any guests who do not already own gear, or secure the appropriate number of rentals from the venue.

5. Decorate the staging area or main area of the venue if the party is for a birthday or other specific occasion. If the party is generic, decorations may not be necessary. Discuss your plans with the field owners and managers for suggestions or tips.

6. Purchase refreshments that can be easily and quickly consumed between rounds, as well as refreshments that are more nutritive to give guests energy and keep them hydrated during play.

7. Organize carpools and other transportation for guests and their parents or guardians. Let your guests know if they need to bring spending money and provide parents or guardians any other relevant information regarding the venue, including emergency contact numbers.

Keep A Dive Mask From Fogging

Scuba diving and snorkeling open the underwater world to exploration. A dive mask allows you to see clearly underwater and keeps (most of) the water from going up your nose. A foggy mask takes away from the enjoyment and makes it harder to see the beauty of the underwater world. Keeping your mask clear is easy. Here are three ways to do so.

Instructions

Use the Frugal Method

1. Put the mask in the water and get the inside glass wet. You will find that the mask is easier to put on and adjust if it and your hair and face are wet.

2. Spit in the mask and wipe the spit all over the inside of the glass. This may sound gross, but it works, it costs nothing and you always have it with you.

3. Rinse the inside of the mask with water and you are ready to go.

Use the Potato Method

4. Cut a potato in quarters or eighths. You can also trim thin, potato chip-like slices from a potato to do this.

5. Rub a piece of the cut potato all over the inside of the mask.

6. Rinse the inside of the mask and put it on.

Use the Defogger Method

7. Buy a commercial mask defogger preparation. These are available at nearly every dive shop in the world.

8. Apply the preparation according to the manufacturers' directions.

9. Don the mask and get in the water.

Start A Shooting Range Business

There are a number of restrictions regarding where you can open a shooting range, the times you can operate it and what you must have in your range.

If you are a gun enthusiast who enjoys teaching others, you might consider starting a shooting range business. While you must obtain a number of licenses and permits, if you are knowledgeable about gun-safety issues, it shouldn't be difficult. You may choose to take your range in a dozen directions, so pay close attention to the interests of the customers in your area.

Instructions

1. Contact your local government office about zoning laws for shooting and building permits. There are a number of restrictions regarding where you can open a shooting range, the times you can operate it and what you must have in your range.

2. Determine if you will start an indoor or outdoor shooting range. For an indoor range, consider opening it near a shopping mall or downtown, if zoning allows. You will need room for at least five shooting stalls, room to host classes, bathrooms, a showroom for your rental guns, room for T-shirts, hats and any guns for sale, and room for your cash register. Expect to need at least 3,000 square feet. For an outdoor range, you may want to purchase land outside of city limits or in a rural area. You will need at least two acres for your outdoor range.

3. Incorporate your business and obtain a federal tax identification number.

4. Purchase at least $500,000 in liability insurance (see Resources).

5. Determine the types of services you will offer. An indoor range may have a pistol range, rifle range and paintball, which is a great way to draw in the younger crowd. Both indoor and outdoor ranges may offer firearm safety classes and training for those seeking a concealed carry license. You can offer group classes, events and parties for birthdays, coworkers and bachelors and bachelorettes. If you decide to offer group events, contact a local pizzeria or deli and ask them about catering. Consider putting in vending machines, because customers may spend hours at your range.

6. Apply for a Federal Firearms License to buy and sell firearms. Expect to pay about $200 for a license, plus $90 for renewals (see Resources).

7. Become knowledgeable about guns and shooting, if you are not already. You should know details about each of your guns, how they handle and for whom they are appropriate. If you do not have a background in firearms, consider enrolling in the NRA Basic Firearm Training Program. Once completed, become an NRA instructor, unless you intend to hire instructors to teach your classes (see Resources).

8. Purchase your equipment and supplies. Buy handguns, rifles, paintball guns, paintballs, masks, earplugs, safety goggles, ammunition, targets of various sizes, trap and skeet targets (for an outdoor range) and cleaning supplies (see Resources). Purchase custom T-shirts, hats and infant bodysuits with your logo to sell to satisfied customers.

Soft Air Guns For Kids

Airsoft guns have been questioned over the years in terms of safety for children. The guns shoot lightweight plastic balls the size of a BB, and rarely cause injury. If a parent decides a child is mature enough to use one of these guns, all safety precautions should be taken. Children should wear the proper face gear to prevent a chipped tooth or a sore eye, and use should be limited to older children past the age of eight.

Stryker Combat Zone Air Soft Gun

This pistol-sized air soft gun was customer-rated at the Bass Pro shop with a 4.5 out of 5. This gun is smaller than a lot of the large machine-gun style air guns, and is easier for a child to use. The gun is equipped with a 13 round drop-out magazine, and holds 90 BBs at a time. It has a special 1911 functioning grip safety, and a sturdy metal barrel. The gun comes with 400 extra BBs.

Mini Uzi SMG by Cyber Gun

These guns are even safe for indoor use.Small and easy to use, this electric air soft gun can be used by children ages eight to ten. It is a fully automatic gun, and shoots 6mm BBs in a full-length, continuous stream. It also comes with an extra package of BBs. The price is economical as well, as it is priced around $23.

Stunt Police Air Soft Shotgun 44

The Stunt Police is semi-automatic with an autoloader that makes it easier to use for children. For safety, it is equipped with an anti-shock ABS and an aftermath spin-shot system. This is one of the top-rated guns at the Bass Pro Shops. It uses 6mm caliber BBs, and has adjustable sights. The price is around $35.

Taurus 24.7 Spring Air Soft Pistol

At around $50, this quality pistol is one of the top rated air soft guns at Bass Pro Shops. It is a smaller hand-held gun, perfect for a child's grip, and more comfortable with a soft rubber handle. For competitive kids, this gun has a great accuracy rating with a BAXS shooting system. It has a 25 shot magazine, and the velocity is measured at 315 feet per second.

Make Antifog Solution

Foggy bathroom mirrors, car windows and swimming goggles can be annoying. You could always spend $4 or more on anti-fog solution, but if you only want to spend less than 20 cents to prevent surfaces from fogging up, this article will tell you make your own anti-fog solution.

Instructions

1. Heat 1 quart of water to a temperature that is hot, but not so hot that you cannot touch it. Water starts to get uncomfortable to the touch around 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit). If your water heater is set high enough, you can use the hot water from your hot water faucet. Otherwise, you can heat the water in a sauce pan or in a heat-resistant measuring cup in the microwave. If you have a submersible thermometer to test the heated water, that isn't a bad idea.

2. When the 1 quart of water is heated, add 3 ounces of vinegar and stir.

3. Dip your lint-free cloth (such as linen) into the solution, squeeze out the excess water, and rub the surface making circular motions.

4. Allow the solution to dry. The surface should now stay fog-free. If the surface fogs again after 3 or 4 weeks , make a new batch of anti-fog solution and reapply.

Start An Interior Painting Business

Paint Can

Starting a business is no easy task, no matter what industry you decide to delve into. For those looking to start business with lower up-front costs and less financial risk, an interior painting company may be a good choice. These companies provide painting and wall-covering services to homeowners and commercial construction firms. The work is relatively simple, especially compared to other construction trades, and the initial financial investment can be fairly minimal. Like all businesses, however, an interior painting company will require a lot of hard work and perseverance in order to succeed.

Instructions

1. Gain experience in the painting field. To properly run a painting business, you must understand how all aspects of the company should function. The best way to do this is to work for a painting company for at least a year. Try to learn both field operations and office procedures so you will be well-equipped to start your business.

2. Decide whether you want to work in the residential or commercial market. Very few companies are able to successfully work in both. This is due to a belief in the commercial world that residential painters aren't skilled enough to perform this type of work. Commercial companies will find that the cost of their employees and equipment makes their price levels too high for most homeowners. Decide before you begin where your interests lie, and focus your energy there.

3. Purchase equipment. For an interior painting company, this will include ladders, drop cloths, brushes, rollers and company vehicles. If you plan to do commercial work, look into drywall lifts and more specialty tools. You'll also need a computer and printer to allow you to bid work and print drawings.

4. Take care of the legal aspects of your business. With construction companies, it is generally advised that the owner form a corporation or LLC to protect his/her personal assets. Consult a lawyer to determine which business model is best for you.

5. Get insured. You'll need liability, worker's compensation and company auto insurance to protect yourself and your employees. Even if you are using your own personal vehicle, your regular auto insurance may not cover work-related trips.

6. Hire staff. You'll need painters and wall paper hangers, as well as support staff to take care of estimating, project management, payroll and accounting. Focus on finding quality field leaders to manage your team, which will free you up to focus on marketing and sales.

Set Up A Paintball Field At Home

Paintball fields can be built at home to create a fun arena for enthusiasts of all ages.

Paintball has grown into an international pastime that is widely enjoyed by sports clubs, company employees and individuals with a taste for the "rough and tumble" extremes of outdoor life. Hiring a paintball venue and the equipment needed to play can be expensive, but it is entirely possible to build a small paintball field at home. Naturally, the focus needs to remain on safety, and space will often be limited. However, a few simple additions and a little planning can soon turn your spare outdoor space into a war zone for paintball enthusiasts.

Instructions

1. Evaluate the space you have available before starting to develop your paintball field. Consider any other uses that the land is currently being used for and establish whether a paintball field will cause a major inconvenience for those living nearby. Consider your own property and the chances of it becoming damaged when games take place. Pay attention to any legal requirements that may have to be addressed before work begins. Operations permits, safety inspections and insurance will need to be considered on homemade paintball fields in some instances. Consider a computer software program if you are struggling to draw up any plans yourself.

2. Draw up your plans to include key features that will make games more realistic. Consider the strategic options that players will have available and think about any additions you'd like to make. Include any natural structures such as trees into your plans. Keep safety as a primary concern at all times and avoid the use of old or derelict barns or buildings on your property if the well-being of participants cannot be assured. Bunkers can be added to provide hiding spots for players.

3. Clear the paintball field of all dangerous obstructions before work begins. Set up a boundary fence that clearly marks the confines of the playing area so participants are not tempted to go beyond it. Add bunkers by digging out irregular pieces of land and adding a membrane to prevent weed growth. Fill with sand so that players can dive into the refuge safely with minimal impact to their bodies.

4. Incorporate small streams or rivers into the playing area wherever possible as this can make a paintball field more realistic and adds to the challenge. Field barriers can be integrated into the course to help provide additional boundaries. Allow a small area for first-aid treatment and ensure that a fully-stocked treatment kit is available at all times so any injuries can be treated. Think about accessibility to the area if an ambulance is actually needed and include this in your design.

5. Invite experienced players to test your paintball field and ask them if they have any opinions that might help to improve the playing arena. The input of experienced gamers may reveal some simple additions that can make the difference between a localized playing area and a truly successful home paintball field.

Start An Indoor Go Kart Track

Start an Indoor Go Kart Track

Indoor go cart tracks remain a popular, year-round, recreational destination for people of all ages, as well as an outlet for serious racers. A challenging track paired with a youth-friendly track and other lucrative entertainment and refreshment options is the key to creating a fun environment and a lucrative career in the go cart industry. If your town lacks family entertainment or there is a demand for racing, you could do well to start your own indoor go cart track.

Instructions

1. Conduct market research to ensure that your indoor track will be profitable. Considerations include the local population and demographics, the type of tracks and karts offered, how much you can reasonably charge per ride, the duration of the ride, start-up costs for your location, track and amenities and additional entertainment or refreshments. Many indoor tracks are part of a larger recreational center that may include kid-friendly activities such as bowling or miniature golf. Other tracks focus on serious riders looking to race at top speeds using the latest industry carts. You may choose to pair your track with an arcade, party room and café, caterer or snack shop.

2. Contact your state's licensing department to learn the rules governing and indoor track, such as safety concerns, speed limitations, signage requirements, age requirements, inspections and liability insurance requirements.

3. Contact a go kart track design firm to help you develop your indoor or racing track and connect you with a liability insurance provider familiar with insuring tracks. Creating a challenging, yet safe track is much more than simply throwing some tires down. You'll need to consider the slope, width of the track, surface, turn radius, straightaway length, pit area, lighting, safety rails and signage. You'll also want to ensure that your indoor track is designed to minimize wait times. While you may be able to conduct the research on your own by visiting and testing local tracks, an easier option may be to simply go straight to the source. After you've got a better idea of the type of track you want to have, lease commercial property. Look at warehouses-a popular choice for indoor tracks-which are easily accessible and offer a degree of visibility. According to J & J Amusements, an ideal track is at least 700 feet long with plenty of turns, and requires about 30,000 square feet or commercial space.

4. Work with the design firm or contractor to create your track and amenities. Purchase go karts for serious riders and for youth, helmets, neck braces, replacement parts, safety signage and gloves. Secure a catering company or purchase snack and beverage equipment, in addition to any other amenities, such as arcade games and a sound system.

5. Hire an adequate staff to monitor the operations. Ideally, look for employees who are familiar with go kart racing. Expect to need about two to five employees, depending on the amount of carts you own. Develop safety training policies for your employees and youth, such as requiring children under a certain age to obtain a junior license.

6. Purchase a website and detail your operating hours, weight limits, food and drink options, additional amenities, footwear requirements and operating and safety procedures. If you will offer a party room or conference room, include your rates.

Write A Release Of Liabilty Form For Camp Injuries

Camps must prepare a release of liability form for campers.

If you are involved in the operation of a camp, you need to ensure that you take all reasonable steps necessary to limit the liability of the camp for injuries or damages sustained by a participant. In writing such a release of liability form, there are certain considerations that need to be kept in mind.

Instructions

1. At the start of the liability form, set forth the precise legal name of the camp as well as the name under which it is operating.

2. Leave a space at the beginning of the liability form into which you will insert the name of both the camper and the legal guardian (normally a parent of the camper) if the camper is underage.

3. Include a statement within the document to the effect that in consideration of allowing the camper to participate in the camp programs and activities, the camper and his legal guardian release the camp of liability. In clear language set forth that the release of liability extends to personal injury of any type whatsoever.

4. Keep in mind that a typical release of liability form normally also covers damage to property.

5. Set forth the specific time frame in which the release of liability form will remain in effect.

6. Have the parent of the camper (if the camper is a minor) sign and date the document. If the camper is an adult, he can sign the release on his own behalf.

7. Sign the release of liability form on behalf of the camp.

8. Maintain the original copy of the release of liability form in a secure location.

9. Provide a copy of the release of liability form to the camper or camper's parents if the participant is a minor.

Instructions

1. Get everything needed for the business. Carefully consider your budget, and then shop around for the best one for your money. Consider size, gas mileage, freezer size. Look at new custom-made ones or used in the classified ads. They range from little scooters to large vans. The truck or van needs to have the proper signs and decals for safety and marketing purposes.

2. Obtain the proper licensing for operating an ice cream truck. This varies from city to city. Contact the Department of Motor Vehicles for information. You may also need to contact the Department of Consumer Affairs.

3. Contact the Health Department. The tuck needs to be inspected on a regular basis for the ability to distribute food.

4. Understand cost versus profit when operating your business. This helps determine which products to sell, and how much to sell them for. Remove A Co2 Tank From A Paintball Marker

Paintball markers are small pistols used to shoot and mark an opponent in a match. These are often employed as sidearms with larger paintball weaponry or as a primary weapon in marker-only combat. Markers are normally powered with small carbon-dioxide tanks that propel the paintballs towards the target. Removal of these canisters must be done carefully to avoid damaging the seals around the nozzle or and preserve any electrical targeting sensors in that area.

Instructions

1. Point the marker towards the sky and away from your face. This will allow the liquid CO2 to flow into the bottom of the tank and prevent spills.

2. Unscrew the tank from the marker carefully. Make sure to avoid unseating the rubber rings that create the seal around the tank where it meets the marker.

3. Pull the tank and marker apart once the tank is fully unscrewed. Take care to not drop your marker or spill the contents of your CO2 canister.

4. Replace with a new tank or cap the CO2 canister for later use. You can store a paintball CO2 tank indefinitely provided you keep it safely away from heat sources.

How Make My Paintball Gun Trigger Quicker

A faster trigger can mean a victory in a paintball game.

There are several ways to increase the speed of a trigger on your paintball gun, like double-finger triggers and response trigger kits, but the best modification to use on a paintball gun is the Rampage Board. The Rampage Board is an electronic, reprogrammable circuit board that fits into the pistol grip of your paintball gun. It has eight settings: semi, burst, reactive, full auto, ramping, PSP3, NXL and millennium. The Rampage Board also is battery-powered and will go into sleep mode when your are not pulling the trigger to conserve energy.

Instructions

1. Lay down a blanket on a table to protect the surface of the table from the oil and grease inside the paintball gun. Lay the paintball gun on top of the blanket, then lay your Allen wrenches and metal file on the towel.

2. Remove the tape and bubble wrap from the Rampage Board.

3. Use the Allen wrench to remove the hex bolts from the paintball gun, stripping it down to the metal skeleton of the paintball gun. Remove the metal grip piece from the barrel. Place the hex bolts aside.

4. Slide the stock board out of the middle of the grip. Remove the two plastic sides from the stock board.

5. File off all the extra plastic bits from the plastic side pieces that will hold the Rampage Board.

6. File down any area of the grip that will block the trigger sensor, which lies right behind where the trigger will be.

7. Place the plastic sides around the Rampage Board. If the Rampage Board is too loose, remove the plastic sides and apply electrical tape into the plastic side pieces. Slide the plastic side pieces onto the Rampage Board again.

8. Slide the Rampage Board with the plastic slides into the place where the stock board was--make sure it is flush before you continue.

9. Attach the 9V battery to the 9V battery input and put the battery into the grip just below the Rampage Board.

10. Re-assemble your paintball gun according to your specific gun's instructions.

Stage Getting Shot

Staging getting shot requires more steps than many people think.

Staging getting shot is a project that can be used for plays, movies and goofing off. You can stage the fight for nearly any reason, just make sure that everyone around the fake shooting knows it is pretend, or else you may have some explaining to do to the police later. Only stage a fight in a private location, to avoid legal trouble. Use realistic-looking fake guns and fake blood to make the fake gunfight seem realistic.

Instructions

Staging the Fight:

1. Decide where to host the fight. Keep the location in a safe, private area. It is not a good idea to stage a gunfight in the middle of a public street or building.

2. Create a plot for the fight. Decide who is fighting whom and why. Give everyone lines to memorize for the staged fight.

3. Practice the fight a few times without the use of guns or fake blood. The actors must learn to react suddenly, just like they would in a real fight.

Adding Realism:

4. Glue the pipe piece inside the mouth of the bottle using the epoxy glue. Stick just enough of the pipe through the mouth to reach the area of the bottle where it starts to widen.

5. Fit the PVC adaptor over the other end of the pipe and glue in place. Screw the release valve onto the other end of the adapter.

6. Plug one side of the hose with a hose plug. Cut a small hole in the end of the hose about 3 inches away from the plug with a utility knife. Cover the hole with a small piece of tape. Fill the hose with fake blood. Fit one adaptor into the other end of the hose.

7. Open the release valve on the bottle. Place the third PVC adaptor over the end of the valve. Pump the bottle full of air. Close the valve and unscrew the adapter. Screw the hose adaptor onto the release valve.

8. Hide the tubing under the person's clothing who will get "shot." Store the bottle full of air pressure nearby, such as in a bag that the person is carrying. Unscrew the release valve just as the other person pulls the trigger on the gun. This will cause the blood to squirt out over the first person's clothing.

Be A Paintball Referee

When groups of paintball players, whether speedball or woodsball, come off the field to complain of someone wiping, ignoring shots, coming back from the dead or even shooting the dead, it ruins the game. Paintball referees put a stop to all of that. Their presence enforces the rules and makes the game more fun for everyone playing.

Instructions

1. Get a jersey. Referees are on the paintball field just like the players. Bright colored jerseys, specifically those with horizontal stripes and the word "Referee" on them minimizes the amount of shots the players take at you.

2. Find a field or league to work with. Although it's difficult to referee your own team members, many individuals have done it in the past. It's best to referee on a field and with a team in which you are not an active participant.

3. Memorize and follow the rules for the field you're refereeing for. There are a few basic rules for paintball that the majority of fields tend to follow, but each field has its own set of rules as well.

4. Practice with a mentor. As with all activities, practice makes perfect. Until you have refereed a few games, you won't spot all the wiping and other "illegal" activities. A mentor can help you spot those activities on the field.

5. Train with the professionals. The National Professional Paintball League Professional Referee Organization trains referees at various US locations throughout the year in special conferences. To become a professional referee, and referee NPPL events, you must be accredited by their organization.

Christian Bachelor Party Games

Paintball games are clean bachelor party fun.

A bachelor party is a celebration of impending marriage as well as a time of bonding between the groom and his groomsmen and closest male friends. A bachelor party doesn't have to contain the stereotypical debauchery if the groom and his friends are Christian or choose not to participate in some of the more typical bachelor party events such as drinking games and hiring dancing girls.

Paintball, Laser or Frisbee Tag

Not all bachelor parties have to take place in a home or club. Take the groom and friends to the nearest paintball range where they form teams and hunt each other with guns loaded with small paintballs. Laser tag is similar but uses electronic vests with targets and laser pointer pistols instead of paint. A low-tech version can be played with a large field and at least one Frisbee per player. If a player gets hit by a Frisbee, they are out of the game. Finish the day with a trip to a favorite restaurant or have the losing team cook dinner for the winners.

Tournaments

Does the groom have a favorite card game? Organize a poker or blackjack tournament complete with prizes for the winners and the groom's favorite finger foods. Or have friends bring portable televisions, game consoles and several copies of the groom's favorite video game for a video game tournament. Make sure to have plenty of food on hand, as these tournaments could take all day.

Scavenger Hunt

This game takes more planning for the groomsmen but can be a great success. Divide party goers into teams and give them clues to a scavenger hunt. Clues can involve visiting places where the couple met, important locations to the groom or gathering supplies to make a great dinner at the end of the hunt. Be sure to ask permission from land owners or store managers before hiding clues on their property. Ask the bride for help in planning the clues that involve special places to the wedding couple.

Select The Right Eotech Sights

Eotech produces HWS (Holographic Weapons System) sights for a variety of purposes and weapons. Eotech sights are different from traditional optic sights in that they feature a display window in which a holographic reticle is visible. The sights are electronically operated and are based on technology originally used in helicopter gunships and jet fighters. Advantages of the sights are that they can be seen from varying angles and light levels. Eotech produces holographic sights for different purposes and weapons.

Instructions

1. Determine the kind of weapon for which you need the sight and for what you will be primarily using it. For example, do you plan to use the sight on a tactical rifle (such as an AR-15), a hunting rifle or a handgun? The size of weapon will help you quickly narrow down your selection.

2. Consider what kind of shooting you are planning to do. Will you be primarily using the sight for hunting, competition shooting or tactical use (military- or law enforcement-type shooting)? For example, the reticles on a sight designed for hunting may be more practical than those for tactical use.

3. Consider if you require magnification or will be using night vision goggles. If you plan to hunt, you probably want a sight with magnification, whereas short-distance shooting may not require any magnification. Additionally, certain Eotech models are equipped with reticle settings that are visible only when using night-vision goggles; if you're in law enforcement, that may be important to you.

4. Use the previous criteria to determine which sight would best fit your purposes. Eotech also provides a questionnaire on its website to help you with your sight selection.

When Were Laser Beams Invented

LASER, meaning light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation, first appeared in a scientific paper in 1958. With that publication, the laser became a new form of high technology used for applications ranging from reading and scanning disks, to precise surgical instruments. Scientists are still finding more applications for laser technology.

Charles Townes

Charles Townes was born in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1915. He received a B.A and a B.S. from Furman University and then a master's from Duke University. When he received his Ph.D. in physics, he joined Bell Labs in 1939.

Arthur Schawlow

Arthur Schawlow was born in Mount Vernon, New York, in 1921. He received his Ph.D. in physics at the University of Toronto and joined Bell Labs in 1951.

Maser

The precursor to the laser was the maser, a device that used microwave wavelengths. However, the maser was limited to how much it could output. Townes started the maser concept and with Nikolai Basov and Alexander Prokhorov, shared the 1964 Nobel Prize in Physics.

1958

In 1958, Schawlow, a Bell Labs researcher, and Townes, a Bell Labs consultant, published Infrared and Optical Masers in Physical Review. This publication was a journal of the American Physical Society.

1960

Both Townes and Schawlow received the patent for the laser in 1960 after Theodore Maiman at the Hughes Aircraft Co. helped create it using a ruby at 0.69 microns.

Anodize

A car battery charger provides the power for anodizing.

Home anodizing is an excellent way to make aluminum parts harder and less likely to corrode. The anodizing process uses electricity to create an aluminum oxide coating. You can even add a touch of color. Many common aluminum products are anodized, from bicycle parts to cookware, but some require a custom process. Home anodizing is popular for auto and bike parts, paintball markers, telescopes and many other aluminum items. It's safe and relatively simple to do, as long as you take a few precautions.

Instructions

Setup

1. Clean all aluminum parts in a solution of nitric acid or lye. Combine 1 to 2 oz. of nitric acid with each gallon of water, or 3 tbsp. of lye with each gallon. Remember to add lye or acid to water, never the other way around. Adding water to lye or acid can cause a hazardous reaction. Place the aluminum parts to be anodized in the solution. The lye or acid should eat away oil and other contaminants that can interfere with the anodizing process.

2. Create the electrolyte--the solution through which the electricity will travel. An electrolyte is a substance that conducts electricity more effectively than just water. Mix one part battery acid with three parts water in a nonreactive container large enough to hold the aluminum part and the cathode.

3. Place the parts. Suspend an aluminum part in the electrolyte. Choose another aluminum object, such as a piece of scrap, to be the cathode--the negatively charged electrode. Suspend it in the electrolyte, but do not allow it to directly touch the part to be anodized.

4. Attach your power source. Clip the negative lead of your battery charger to the cathode and the positive lead to the aluminum part.

Power

5. Turn on the power. Set the battery charger to a rate of 2 volts or more. Choose a higher voltage for faster anodizing. The cathode will produce a white fog or a stream of bubbles if power is flowing through the tank correctly.

6. Leave the parts in the electrolyte with power flowing until the surface of the aluminum part appears yellowish and dull. You may see fewer bubbles or a change in the flow of the bubbles. For small parts, this process takes about two hours. Larger parts may require more time or more current.

7. Turn off the power and remove the aluminum part from the electrolyte. Rinse thoroughly with distilled water.

Finishing

8. Mix distilled water and fabric dye in a nonreactive pot. A higher concentration of dye will yield a darker color. Place the part in the dye solution at room temperature, then heat the mixture to 100 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15 minutes. Remove the aluminum part from the dye solution. Rinse thoroughly with distilled water, but do not scrub.

9. Fill another nonreactive pot that's large enough to hold the aluminum part with distilled water and bring it to a boil. Place the part in the boiling water and leave it there for a half-hour to harden the finish.

10. Remove the part and allow it to dry. Cool the part to room temperature before using.

Rv Camping In Northeastern Pennsylvania

Northeast Pa. provides visitors with year-round activities, including skiing and snowboarding during the winter.

RV camping in northeastern Pennsylvania provides opportunities to enjoy the state's natural beauty affordably and conveniently. RV campgrounds are less prevalent than some other accommodation types in the Pocono Mountains, which have become a honeymoon favorite. However, with a little effort, visitors can find a site to meet their needs, whether they want to hike, fish, relax or try a bit of everything.

Pocono Mountains

Northeastern Pennsylvania, home to the Pocono Mountains, offers a wide variety of activities, including skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking and racing. The area is more well-known for luxurious hotels and romantic bed and breakfasts than for campsites--however, there are RV campsites both in and out of the mountains. The Poconos feature more than 150 lakes, 170 miles of rivers and 260 miles of hiking and biking trails. The diverse geography makes northeastern Pennsylvania a destination all year round, and the area is within driving distance of most east-coast cities.

Historic Pennsylvania Cities

In addition to the mountains, visitors to northeastern Pennsylvania may wish to visit historic cities such as Wilkes-Barre, Scranton or Hazleton. These cities offer antique shops, festivals, local food and music venues and art exhibitions. Visitors can also enjoy golfing, fishing and exploring state parks. Unusual experiences include paintball games, carriage rides and the opportunity to drive a race car on a closed track.

RV Camping

RV camping in northeastern Pennsylvania, including in the Pocono Mountains, is an option year-round. Sites range in size, but most have full water and electric hookups. Some campgrounds take daily and weekly bookings, while others offer daily, seasonal, long-term and year-round rates. Most RV campgrounds offer some form of recreational hall, and restrooms and showers. A few campgrounds offer nearby fishing opportunities and more elaborate amenities, such as heated pools.

Booking Considerations

Some campgrounds in the mountains have limits on RV length, so visitors should check with their campground of choice prior to booking. Also, the area is subject to winter snow storms. Individuals unaccustomed to driving in the snow may want to book their travel with an eye on the weather report, book in another season or consider a site near a city in case driving in the mountains becomes a challenge.

Activities and Locations

Northeastern Pennsylvania is a large area, and it's likely that not all activities will be within convenient reach of one campground. Visitors should consider what they want to do on vacation prior to booking a site. For example, those interested in boating or fishing may wish to book near Lake Wallenpaupack or Shohola Marsh Reservoir. Those interested in hiking or in a romantic weekend in relative seclusion may want to search for an RV park in the heart of the Pocono Mountains.

Find The Price Of A Gun

All weaponry is priced differently based on age, rarity and condition.

The firearms market includes pistols, shotguns, lever-action rifles, muzzleloaders, assault rifles and collectible antique weaponry. All of these weapons are produced by different gun manufacturers; all have unique designs and are priced accordingly. Research is needed to determine the appropriate price of a particular gun.

Instructions

1. Research specific details about the gun that you are pricing. These will include the manufacturer's name, the weapon's model number and the specific ammunition the weapon fires.

2. Look up the weapon in a recently updated gun-price guide. A few guides are available to choose from such as the "Blue Book of Gun Values," the "Standard Catalogue of Firearms" or the "Official Gun Digest Book of Guns and Prices."

3. Contact the manufacturer of the weapon. You can usually call a manufacturer directly or look up the weapon model on the manufacturer's website. The manufacturer can give you a list of dealers near you who sell their weapons.

4. Contact a local dealer or gun shop. Gun shops and dealers have a variety of weapons to choose from, and all price their weapons according to what the market will bear. If you inquire about a specific weapon, a gun dealer may be able to order it or give you an estimated price.

5. Search through a variety of gun sales sites on the Internet. A few sites that list thousands of weapons and accessories are: Gunbroker.com, Brownell's.com and MidwayUSA.com.

Get Paintball Stains Out Of 100% Fabric

Paintball battles can be messy games.

You have to clean up. It may not be the best part of any activity, but it has to be done. Paintball competitions are really just a messier version of Hide-and-Go-Seek or Capture-The-Flag. After the guts and glory of your paintball battle are over, you need to take the first steps toward cleaning your fabric gear. Paintball ammunition is water-based and bio-degradable, but the sooner that paint marks are removed, the better. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Wipe off surface accumulations of paint with rags or paper towels. Try not to smear the paint into the fibers or the weave of the fabric. Rinse out as much of the paint as possible with cold water.

2. Pre-treat the stains with a paste of powdered laundry detergent or a stain remover such as Shout. Soak the item for 30 minutes in cold water.

3. Launder the item in cold water with detergent and color-safe bleach. If the item cannot be put into a washing machine, scrub the stains out with a laundry brush and rinse with cold water.

4. Air dry the item. Heat may set any remaining stains, so don't use that setting if putting the item in a clothes dryer.

5. Send the item through the washing machine again if any stains remain, and repeat the process until the stains are removed, or at the least, not as noticeable.

Install A Tippmann A5

A Tippmann A-5 won't work without paintballs.

The Tippmann A-5 is one of the easiest-to-use paintball guns on the market. Once you remove it from the box, there are only a few parts to install to make it operational. Always remember to assemble this paintball gun in a safe area such as at a paintball field or in the woods. Also, place a barrel plug in the end of the barrel to prevent accidental paintball shots. Once you are ready to play, you can simply pull out the barrel plug. Also remember to wear a proper paintball mask. Paintball masks are designed to protect your face and eyes from paintballs.

Instructions

1. Screw the barrel into the paintball gun with a clockwise motion. Place a barrel plug in the end of the barrel to prevent accidental shots.

2. Screw the CO2 tank or compressed air tank into the air source adapter. The air source adapter is located under the trigger frame of the Tippmann A-5. The tank will screw in with a clockwise motion. Tighten it until it is firmly on the gun, but do not over-tighten it, since it could strip the threads.

3. Place the hopper onto the Cyclone Feed System. There is a tab on the hopper and Cyclone Feed System that must fit together. You cannot install this piece improperly. Fill the hopper with .68-caliber paintballs, and you are ready to use the Tippmann A-5.

Wear A Mask For Painting A Bathroom

Wear proper safety equipment when painting your bathroom.

While painting a bathroom you should make certain the room is adequately ventilated. Many paints contain chemicals that cause irritating or hazardous odors, fumes and vapors. The prep work that leads up to painting, such as sanding and scraping off old paint, also generates a lot of dust and particles that can be harmful if inhaled. To protect yourself, always wear a mask when painting, even when taking on an area as small as a bathroom. Use the mask correctly, or it won't provide effective protection.

Instructions

1. Buy the right mask. A disposable dust mask with a metal insert above the nose is an inexpensive and effective way to avoid paint mists and protect yourself from dust and old paint particles. Read the packaging for the manufacturer's recommended uses and make sure the mask meets your needs. A sanding mask will give you better protection than one labeled for use with latex paint.

2. Use a mask with double straps. These masks are pulled tight against your face at the top as well as the bottom, helping to hold them in place and achieve a better seal.

3. Remove facial hair to achieve a better seal. Facial hair prevents the mask from fitting tight against your face, allowing small particles to find a way in. If you're only trying to avoid odors from the paint, this in not necessary.

4. Put on the dust mask before putting on glasses or goggles. Glasses and goggles should be worn on top of masks to help make a better seal.

5. Adjust the metal insert at the nose of the mask. Use your thumb and index finger to mold it to fit your face while you are wearing the mask.

6. Take breaks and cool off. Wearing a face mask is hot and uncomfortable. To avoid becoming overheated, take frequent breaks from the mask. Leave the area where you are painting and remove the mask for five minutes at a time, at least once every hour.

Things To Put In Your Book Bag

There are many styles of backpacks, with varying systems for carrying.

A high school or college student's bag is his lifeline. A good bag will have compartments for books, a laptop, portable music devices and a cell phone. Additional storage for a water bottle or thermos is also common. Nonetheless, with lots of pockets to fill, weight is still at a premium when lugging your bag across campus. Choosing what to bring along, and what to leave in your dorm or at home, can save both you and your back a lot of stress.

Books

It is a book bag, after all. If you live in a dorm, or your house is nearby, bring only the books you will need before you will have a chance to return home. Books are going to be the heaviest items in your bag, and leaving one or two behind will save you a lot of weight and space. If you plan to study between classes, bring only the additional books you need for one class. This will help focus your attention on one subject and also save room and weight in your bag.

Lightweight Laptop

A carried laptop or netbook will almost never go unused. Opt for a portable and lightweight laptop when choosing a computer, and keep the cost down. You can have a more powerful desktop computer back at your house or dorm, but more power comes at the cost of weight. A small netbook in your backpack adds merely a pound or two to your load; a desktop-replacement style laptop can weigh as much as 8 pounds.

Chargers

Device chargers are lightweight and lifesavers when you need them. Keep a spare charger for your laptop in your bag, and you won't have to worry about forgetting it at home. Pick up an extra charger for your cell phone and portable audio player as well. Most chargers are available by generic manufacturers at substantial savings.

First Aid Kit

This is an item that you hope you never need, but you will be glad you have it when you do. Grab a cheap first aid kit and throw in any additional items you feel you may need. The kit will have bandages; add some antibacterial hand sanitizer and topical ointment. Be careful about carrying any medications or analgesics, however, because unlabeled pills can be mistaken for drugs.

Portable Stapler

You may be able to get your essay printed in the computer lab, but finding a stapler can be a time-consuming task when you are rushing to class. Carry a small portable stapler and you will more than likely find it gets you out of a jam more than once.

Umbrella

A small portable umbrella is a great addition to your book bag. It can usually be carried in the slot where a drink or thermos would go, should you not be using that feature. Your backpack contains valuable electronic devices, books and your school work. The last thing you want is for the bag, and you, to get soaked. A small umbrella can help keep the rain off of you and your belongings.

Types Of Paint Gun Weapons

Types of Paint Gun Weapons

Paintball combat, whether in the speedball or woodsball format, is a popular recreational activity. Paintball guns have come a long way in recent years, and a wide variety of additional weapons have joined the available arsenal. This makes the paintball field a complex and varied gaming environment, with myriad tactical problems to solve.

Pistols

Pistols are arguably the original paintball weapons. Powered by the outmoded 12 g powerlet cartridges, they usually can fire only 30 or 40 shots, and have poor range.

Long Guns

Paintball guns cannot be called "rifles" because they are smoothbores. The long guns still have improved range, use large and refillable CO2 bottles, and big hoppers with plenty of balls.

Grenades

Both smoke and paint grenades are popular on the field. Most paint grenades are akin to simple water balloons, but some are sophisticated and have fuses and small explosive charges.

CO2 Cannons, and Grenade and Rocket Launchers

Paintball heavy weapons such as cannons, and grenade and rocket launchers are usually homemade, although some are store-bought. They frequently use the same technology as spud guns.

Paintball Tanks

It has become common to retrofit ATVs, golf carts and the like with wood, fiberglass or plastic plates, arm them with paintball weapons and turn them into "paintball weapons." These add a whole new dimension to a paintball game, but the rules governing their use vary widely.

Paintball Mines

There are a number of models for both homemade and store-bought paint mines. These come in tripwire, pressure-trigger and command-detonated varieties.

Make Your Own Spring Airsoft Rifle

Airsoft rifles that use a spring can shoot a projectile farther than those powered by air or rubber bands and are more accurate than pistols because they have longer barrels. Make your own spring-powered airsoft rifle to use for target practice with a few parts purchased from a hardware store. The spring-powered airsoft rifle will not take more than an hour or two to make and can shoot a projectile a long way.

Instructions

1. Put the newspaper down on a table. Put the PVC pipe down on the newspaper.

2. Measure 6 inches from one end of the PVC pipe, using a tape measure. Place a mark at the 6-inch measurement, using the pencil. Measure up from the pencil mark 14 inches. Make another mark at this point with the pencil.

3. Drill a hole in the PVC pipe at the pencil marks, using the portable drill. Place the PVC cap on the end of the PVC pipe closest to the hole made 6 inches from the end.

4. Apply bonding glue around the PVC cap to hold it to the PVC pipe. Let the bonding glue set for at least a day.

5. Insert the spring into the open end of the PVC pipe and slide it down to the other end. Insert a screw into the hole closest to the PVC cap so it goes through the end of the spring.

6. Insert one end of the wooden dowel into the open hole of the PVC pipe and push down on the spring so that it goes as close to the hole nearest the PVC cap as possible. Insert a screw into the other hole to hold the spring back as you pull out the wooden dowel.

7. Rub a piece of modeling clay into a ball between the palms of your hands. Drop the ball of modeling clay into the open end of the PVC pipe.

Make Pistol Holsters

Some pistols don't fit well into standard store-bought holsters.

Some pistols do not fit into general commercial holsters, and you may need to make your own. You can craft a custom-shaped hard-shell pistol holster using a material called Wonderflex, an easy-to-use thermoplastic sheet that will allow you to mold a holster designed to fit just about any pistol.

Instructions

1. Place your pistol upside down on the center of a sheet of paper. The top of the paper should touch the front of the rear sight post (see Figure A). Trace the outline with a pencil (see Figure B; note: marker was used in photos for better contrast).

2. Lay the pistol on one side of the paper with the sight posts lined up with the previously traced line. Trace the profile of the pistol. When done, flip the pistol to other side and trace the profile.

3. Measure the height of the pistol slide and mark it on the paper template, measuring out from the center lines. Repeat for each side of the pistol (see Figures D and E).

4. Draw a line from the mark made in Step 3 to the back of the trigger loop on the traced profile. Some holsters have a slight curve in the line. Should you choose to make a curved line, match it as closely as possible on the opposite side of the traced profile.

5. Extend the center lines, for a closed-bottom holster, 2 to 3 inches below the bottom of the trace and add tabs 3/4 inch to 1 inch on the sides of the extension. For an open-bottom holster, proceed to Step 6.

6. Measure 1/2 inch to 1 inch beyond the profile trace and mark with a pencil every few inches. This is to create the line where you will cut out the pattern. The extra distance is to allow material that will fold over, closing the holster around the bottom of the pistol.

7. Cut out the pattern. You should now have the basic template for your custom holster.

8. Wrap the paper pattern around your pistol. This gives you a general idea of how it will look.

9. Trace your pattern onto the Wonderflex. Use tape to secure the pattern.

10. Cut out the pattern from the Wonderflex with household scissors.

11. Run the heat gun over the cut-out pattern. Wear gloves to avoid possible burns from hot Wonderflex. Wonderflex generally becomes pliable at 150 to 170 degrees F. Once pliable, you have a two- to three-minute timeframe before you have to reheat.

12. Wrap the Wonderflex, once it is pliable, around your pistol. When Wonderflex is heated, a built-in adhesive is activated. To avoid the possible transfer of any residue to the pistol, place a thin layer of plastic wrap between the pistol and the Wonderflex. (Note: Figure M does not have plastic wrap because the pistol here is an inexpensive prop and easy to clean should any residue become attached.)

13. Press Wonderflex into the details of the pistol. Reheat as needed. Leave a small amount of space on the top of the pistol so that the front sight post does not get hung up on the plastic. Press in Wonderflex at the center of the trigger loop. This is what will stop the pistol from sliding out of the holster. Once you are happy with the shape, wait 10 to 15 minutes to allow the plastic to cool.

14. Remove the pistol after the Wonderflex has cooled. You now have a custom-fitting hard-shell holster. To make a belt loop for the holster, take two strips of Wonderflex, heat them and fuse them together, making a thicker single strip. Place the belt that will hold the holster onto the hard shell and then, heating both the shell and the strip, fuse the strip to the shell. You should now have a loop custom-shaped to your favorite belt (see Figure O).

Places To Play Paintball

Places to Play Paintball

The game of paintball is a popular sport in which compressed-gas weapons fire small pellets of paint to simulate combat. Many variations of paintball exist and the rules of the game vary significantly from place to place, depending on the agreement of the players involved. One dilemma that faces all paintball players and enthusiasts, at one time or another, is the question of where they can play. There are many different potential places to play paintball, each with its own unique benefits and drawbacks.

Types

There are two major types of locations where players can play paintball. The first and most common type is commercial paintball parks. Commercial parks can be indoor or outdoor and generally offer not only a place to play but other services as well.

The other major type of paintball play area is what is commonly referred to as a "renegade" or "outlaw" location. Such locations are usually located on private land, although some players are so bold as to attempt play on publicly held land which is rather controversial and sometimes illegal.

Geography

Geography dictates certain factors about paintball fields of play. For example, in climates where temperatures reach extremes of hot or cold, most commercial paintball parks are located indoors. Outdoor parks and "outlaw" fields can be on any type of terrain. For complexity of play, however, most players prefer wooded areas or locations that include hiding places.

Size

The size of a paintball field of play can vary wildly. Indoor areas can be fairly small, sometimes comprising little more space than a standard room. Other fields, particularly outdoor ones, are virtually limitless. Games involving a large number of participants require decidedly more space than games with fewer players. Also, fields including fewer hiding places and obstacles need to be larger to facilitate a lasting game that doesn't simply turn into a wild west-style shootout.

Benefits

There are potential benefits associated with both commercial paintball parks and the so-called "renegade" fields. Commercial parks often offer players many helpful services and assistance. Referees are usually provided by commercial parks, as are standardized rules and liability insurance. Such paintball locations also can offer other things such as restrooms, food service, instruction, equipment sales, and locker rooms.

The main benefit of "renegade" paintball locations, on the other hand, is that they do not offer such structure and regulation. The fact that renegade fields are unregulated and unrestricted allows players more freedom in determining the rules of the game and the style of play. Also, "renegade" locations are often much larger and more varied in terrain than commercial parks.

Warning

Paintball is a potentially dangerous activity and paintball guns can cause harm, especially when used improperly. It also bears mentioning that playing paintball in "outlaw" or "renegade" locations can be more dangerous due to a lack of supervision or standardized rules. Legal liability is often assumed by those who allow such paintball games to occur on their land.

Make Paintball Bunkers Out Of Wood

Bunkers can be a fun addition to your paintball field. These bunkers will provide you with a strategic advantage over the other team by giving you protection and cover. Bunkers can come in all shapes and sizes and should vary across your paintball field. Before building any bunkers in the woods, make sure that you have permission from the owner of the property. Also, have a friend assist you since wood can be heavy.

Instructions

1. Locate a portion of your paintball field that is flat with thick, sturdy trees. A flat area is safer to build on and thick trees are necessary to support your bunker. Also, remove any stones or branches that are on the ground in this location.

2. Cut your plywood to different lengths. Make sure the size of the plywood is at least two feet wide by three feet tall. The amount of plywood that you should buy is contingent on the number of bunkers you want.

3. Hammer the plywood to the base of the trees using long, heavy-duty nails. Try to attach each end to different trees to increase the stability of the bunker. Also, use at least five nails on each tree. You do not want the plywood to fall over on someone.

4. Attach the two-inch cutter drill bit to the drill. Make sure to read the manufacturer directions so that it is safely attached. Drill several holes in the plywood at varying heights. This will allow you to place the barrel of you paintball gun through the bunker so that you can shoot the opposing team without revealing yourself.

Sell A Glock

The Glock is the best selling handgun on the market. It is widely used by police agencies, which makes it a very popular pick for civilians as well. Selling a handgun is legal as long as you follow all of the Federal laws and procedures.

Instructions

1. Verify the laws in your state before attempting to sell a Glock. If you do not hold a Federal Firearms License (FFL), some states will only allow you to sell handguns within your own state. Shipping a gun illegally is a felony.

2. Post a for sale ad online that thoroughly describes the Glock, the asking price and method of payment accepted. Include a picture of the handgun if you have one.

3. Watch your auction and notify the winner. Provide your name and contact information to send payment and license. Require the winner to send a copy of his Federal Firearms License.

4. Check with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to verify the license and ensure that the buyer is legally allowed to purchase firearms. You can't legally sell a handgun to someone who can't legally own a gun.

5. Find a shipping carrier that will ship handguns. Notify the carrier that you are shipping a firearm and that the package has no marking to indicate that a firearm is inside. Ship any ammunition separate from the handgun.

G3 Vs Invert Mini

Paintball guns can provide hours of fun.

Many paintball gun enthusiasts get sick of renting paintball guns and decide to buy their own. Once you make this decision, you may find yourself on the fence between the DP G3 and the Invert Mini paintball guns. Both paintball guns are great options, but there are a few things that differentiate the two.

G3 Is Cheaper

Although both paintball guns are in the same ballpark, the G3 is usually cheaper than the Invert Mini. As of 2010, the G3 can be found for $300, but the Invert Mini is always a little more expensive at $325. It should be noted that you may have to spend money on additional parts the Invert Mini doesn't include.

Invert Mini Is Smaller

Although both paintball guns claim to be super light, the Invert Mini is actually smaller. Some people enjoy a paintball gun with a small profile while others prefer to have something more substantial in their hands.

G3 Is Easier to Maintain

The G3 bolt has only two moving parts and its simple design makes it easy to strip and clean. The Invert Mini uses a one-screw quick strip to take the bolt return spring, the bolt guide and the bolt out of the back. The Invert design is different from most others, and the extra parts make maintenance slightly more difficult.

The Invert Mini Has a Newer Design

The Invert Mini has a much newer design, but newest isn't always the best when it comes to reliability. Many paintball enthusiasts believe reliability is more important. While the G3's simple design isn't as new as the Invert Mini, it is much more reliable. The newer Invert Mini models are more reliable than used models, but the designs are still more complicated than the G3's.

G3 is Ready Out of the Box

The G3 comes ready to go when you purchase it, but the Invert Mini has no on/off ASA switch. You have to buy an adapter, and many people buy special bolts and other parts for the Invert Mini to increase performance as well. The G3 usually needs nothing extra.
