"Rambo" Games To Play

With the 2008 release of the film "Rambo," the ex-Green Beret character portrayed by action hero Sylvester Stallone received a newfound following from young and old fans alike. Several video games for multiple gaming systems were released in the 1980s during the heyday of "Rambo," loosely following the storylines of the early films.

Rambo

This 1988 title for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) follows the events of the film "Rambo: First Blood Part II." In this side-scrolling game you fight Soviet soldiers and vicious wildlife with guns and knives as you explore the environment to find prisoners of war in Vietnam. After a difficult final battle against a helicopter, you must lead these POWs to safety.

Rambo III

The 1988 Sega Master System title "Rambo III" uses the console's light gun accessory. You point the gun at the television to defeat enemies that appeared on the screen. Clear the screen to automatically scroll to new areas inspired by the third "Rambo" film. If you run out of bullets for your automatic rifle, you can shoot bullets only one at a time. You are helped by a limited number of grenades you can toss to clear the screen and iodine bottles that appear on screen you can shoot to refill your health.

Rambo III Arcade

The 1989 arcade version of the third "Rambo" film was also a light gun shooter, but the action moved forward instead of sideways. You defeat waves of Soviet soldiers to run ahead to the next area, also battling enemies in helicopters and jeeps, which explode to create destruction and a frantic pace.

Rambo: First Blood Part II

This 1986 title plays similarly to such military shooters as "Commando" in that you run up a vertically scrolling screen and use weapons and exploration to find hidden objects and allies. Explosive arrows will destroy huts, where you can find extra lives, more weapons and free prisoners of war. The game was released for Commodore 64 and Sega Master System, with the latter featuring two-player cooperative play.

Fill A Nitrogen Paintball Tank

Paintball players use nitrogen tanks to get more shots out on the field.

Nitrogen tanks power a variety of paintball markers. These tanks come in 3,000 PSI and 4,500 PSI sizes. You have to fill nitrogen paintball tanks after every few rounds of game play, depending on how many shots you've taken. The tanks are filled using a nitrogen fill station, which has larger nitrogen tanks connected allowing the air to be transferred to your tank. Filling a nitrogen tank must be done with care to prevent accidental explosions.

Instructions

1. Inspect the tank for damage and test date. Check the steel tank body, fiber wrapping and the o-ring, which is located at the top of the tank. Replace the o-ring if it is broken by sliding off the damaged one and sliding on a new one. Look at the tank's test date. Do not fill the tank if the test date has passed.

2. Connect the paintball tank via the quick disconnect paintball adapter to the fill station hose. Look to see how much PSI or pounds per square inch of air the nitrogen tank can handle.

3. Set the pressure of the fill station delivery gauge to that of the paintball tank by turning the adjusting screw clockwise. For example, if the paintball tank space is 3,000 PSI, set the nitrogen fill station gauge to 3,000 PSI.

4. Open the fill valve of the fill station steadily by turning it counter-clockwise. The two fill station gauges will register to zero and begin to increase as the nitrogen tank is filling.

5. Turn the fill valve off once the correct amount of nitrogen has filled into the tank by twisting the knob clockwise. The numbers on the gauges will stop increasing at this point.

6. Open the drain valve, which is located to the side of the fill valve. Leave the drain valve open until all of the pressure between the paintball tank and the fill valve has escaped. Close the drain valve by turning the knob clockwise. Remove the nitrogen tank from the quick disconnect paintball adapter by pulling the adapter downward with your thumb and forefinger.

Check A Firearm At A Gun Shop

The process of deciding and selecting a new firearm will often involve a trip to a local gun shop or sporting goods store. These outlets will typically feature a wide range of firearms from which to choose and will provide an opportunity to hold and examine the features of the firearm. Holding a firearm and working the action is an important step in the decision-making process.

Instructions

1. Locate a gun shop, sporting goods store, or other retailer that carriers a variety of firearms. Make sure the retailer offers the handgun, rifle or shotgun you are considering as well as comparable models to also examine.

2. Discuss the features of the firearm with a member of the sales staff prior to examining the firearm. This is also a good time to learn about comparable firearms that may have similar features at a different price point.

3. Hold the firearm to get a feel for the weight. Not all firearms weigh the same, and all people are not comfortable holding the same amount of weight. Take some time to get used to the weight and feel of the firearm.

4. Hold the firearm in the position from which it will be fired. Ask for assistance if unsure of the proper position in which the firearm should be held. When pointing the firearm, make sure to aim away from other people. Never point a loaded or unloaded firearm at a person.

5. Work the action of the firearm. This may involve opening and closing a bolt action or lever of a rifle, racking the forearm of a pump shotgun, or pulling back the slide of a semi-automatic handgun. Once again, ask for assistance if you're unsure about how a firearm is operated.

Fun Centers Near Bellevue Fl

For many years, the term "fun center" was associated with a singular brand of stores, but the term has become so widely used it is now given to any type of business that is family-oriented and features games for everyone. There are plenty of fun centers near Bellevue, Florida, a two-mile long town in South Marion County that is also home to many different small businesses and is at the intersection of six different thoroughfares. Does this Spark an idea?

Easy Street Family Fun Center

Located a few short minutes down the road in the nearby town of Ocala is the Easy Street Family Fun Center (ocalaeasystreet.com), a family-oriented gathering place that has miniature golf, go karts, an old-fashioned arcade and specialty treats. But what really makes Easy Street Family Fun Center stand out is its Kidzone, a two-story enclosed play tower for children 10 years and younger.

Fun Factory

Also located in Ocala is the Fun Factory (funfactoryocala.com), which proudly calls itself a "giant human hamster maze." There is an arcade with games (starting at 25 cents per game). The main main attraction is a huge indoor maze that allows children and some grown-ups the opportunity to run, climb, bash and play. One of its features is a pull-up test for children under 4 years of age before they can play in the ball pit.

Old River Paintball

To the east of Bellevue is the Ocklawaha Prairie Restoration Area and also the site of the more adult-oriented Old River Paintball (oldriverpaintball.net). A family-owned business, Old River Paintball is on 50 acres of land and features both speedball and woods ball. It hosts church groups, family outings and business meetings. Old River Paintball includes an on-site pro shop.

Glow In One

A short drive south of Bellevue is the town of Leesburg and Glow in One (indoorputtputt.com), an indoor miniature golf course that is entirely illuminated by black light. In addition to 18 golf holes there are also two glow-in-the-dark pool tables and one glowing air hockey table.

Open A Paintball Field

Purchase thousands of paintballs in bulk before your field opens.

Paintball fields can be found all over the United States and are especially popular with teenagers and young men, though the entire family can play. If you're interested in starting a paintball field in your area, there are ways to do it without spending a lot of money or wasting a lot of time. Acknowledge possible liability and recruit some friends to help you with operations, and you'll be on your way toward opening day.

Instructions

1. Research the area in which you wish to start your paintball field. See if there are any competitors nearby who are already in business, and then find out if your potential field space meets legal zoning requirements. Gather a list of names of city and state offices you will need to contact for the permits required in your area. You may also wish to contact real estate agents if you need to purchase land. Do not try to get around red tape by not communicating with your local officials. You must get permission to hold a physical activity such as paintball.

2. Incorporate your business by filing with the Secretary of State in your state. You can use an online document preparation service to help you get this done. Incorporating a business can take anywhere from a couple weeks to several months, so start this process as soon as you have your business name and location. Purchase business insurance, including liability insurance.

3. Prepare your paintball field by paving a parking lot and clearing out any areas with large trees, shrubs, or anything else that can hinder such a game. Get electricity turned on, connect phone and Internet lines and sign up for water service. Hook up a cash register or computer to accept payments. You will also need CO2 and nitrogen tanks on hand to use as a propellant for the paint balls. Your property must have a bathroom onsite or extremely close by, so keep this in mind both when picking an area and drawing up your budget. Finally, purchase goggles, other safety equipment, paintballs, markers, barrel plugs and anything else you will need to adequately supply a field and allow for rentals. You can purchase these all online at a business like Paintball Discounters or Red Dot Paintball (see Resources).

4. Start to advertise via the Internet, flyers, posters, and through word of mouth promotion. Invite people to come play paintball for free, so they can preview the facility and hopefully buy a membership or at least one more game. Rent out goggles and other gear to make extra profit and also to ensure safety. Have release forms for everyone on hand, and if possible, consult an attorney to ensure all your legal bases are covered before opening for business.

The Pros & Cons Of Sports Sponsorships

Sports sponsorship can increase name recognition.

Sports sponsorship is a vast industry, with companies spending millions of dollars a year to sponsor international athletes and teams. Individual athletes can have multiple sponsors. For example, Tiger Woods was given a four-year sponsorship contract with Nike in 1996 worth $40 million and a $10.9 million contract with General Motors in the same year. Whether it's for local or international sports teams or athletes, sponsorship is a double-edged sword.

Recognition Benefits

Sports sponsorship, whether it's by Dave's Ice Cream Parlor or Nike, yields name recognition. Every time athletes wearing gear emblazoned with a logo, spectators, both in the arena and on TV, see it, which reinforces the ubiquity of that brand, which yields sales. For example, before 2010, every time Tiger Woods participated in a tournament, millions of spectators saw AT&T's logo emblazoned on his golf bag.

Recognition Drawbacks

Recognition, however, has drawbacks. If the athlete or athletes sporting that logo become involved in some sort of scandal, the brand that sponsors them becomes associated with that scandal, which is why companies often cease sponsorship of athletes and teams associated with scandal. For example, after scandal erupted surrounding Tiger Woods, AT&T ended sponsorship of him to avoid their company and logo from being associated with his behavior.

Money Benefits

By attaching their names to athletes, companies enjoy the benefit of recognition, whether local or international, at a relatively low cost. This recognition often yields high profits. The idea behind sports sponsorship is that when consumers think of, say, buying a pair of sneakers, the name that pops into their head is "Nike" or "Adidas" or whichever brand is advertised by their favorite athlete or team.

Money Drawbacks

Sports sponsorship is also a risky financial investment. For example, BMW sponsors a sailboat team, which was in 2007 eliminated from the qualifying competition for America's Cup, meaning that it could not participate in either the qualifying competition or in the main competition. BMW lost an estimated $200 million because of the disqualification, according to German press reports. This risk is inherent. If the sponsored team or athlete is disqualified, does not participate, or is involved in scandal, then the sponsoring company can suffer financially. And the greater the investment, the greater the financial downfall if something does go wrong.

Set The Ramping On A Smart Parts Ion

Adjust the settings on your Smart Parts Ion for a different shooting effect.

Paintball guns have several settings that users can adjust to their individual tastes, including how many paint balls can be shot in one second. These different shooting modes include settings like semi-automatic, full-automatic and ramping. Ramping on a paintball gun means that it is in rebound mode. This mode lets the user shoot off several paintballs in one second. The Smart Parts Ion paintball gun lets the user adjust the mode by pressing a couple of buttons.

Instructions

1. Press the On/Off button, located right above the trigger on your Smart Parts Ion, to turn it on. A red light will blink rapidly, indicating it is on.

2. Enter Programming Mode by pressing a gray button, which controls the circuit board. This is located right behind the the trigger switch. The light on the button will turn yellow, indicating that you are on Setting 1.

3. Press the gray button four times until the lights blink in a double yellow pattern. You are now in the "Cycle Modes Up" selection.

4. Press the On/Off button once. The gray, lit, button and the On/Off button will flash if you are making the adjustment correctly. Pressing the button once will put the gun into ramping or rebound mode.

Sight In A Red Dot Scope On A Crossbow

If you want to hit the center ring, you have to put in the effort.

With considerations such as range, wind and velocity playing larger roles, sighting in a crossbow isn't exactly like sighting in a rifle. Weather conditions are in constant flux, so likely you'll be sighting in your bow every time you take it outside. Red dot sights (also known as laser sights) make this task less complicated.

Instructions

1. Determine the conditions under which you will use your crossbow. Find out what the wind speed and direction are likely to be, as well as whether precipitation is expected. You also need to know the approximate range at which you will be shooting.

2. Prepare your shooting range to match the target conditions as closely as possible. Wind and weather are not always easy to accommodate, but with practice, you can learn to allow for them. Place the target at the far end of the range with a suitable backstop, then set up the tripod or brace at the desired target range.

3. Sight along the arrow groove on the crossbow and adjust your laser sight to match where you expect the bolt to go. Try to allow for arrow drop.

4. Lock your bow into the brace and fire a bolt with the red dot on the center of the target. Leave the bow locked in place and make a note of how far off center the bolt is on both the horizontal and vertical axes. Use these notes to adjust the sight according to the manufacturer's handbook, then fire another arrow. Repeat until the bolts start forming an acceptable pattern around the red dot.

Make A Raptor Mask

Wear a raptor mask for Mardi Gras, Halloween or a costume party.

Raptor is the term that describes certain predatory birds, such as hawks, eagles, vultures and screech owls. Each creature naturally features feathers, beaks and eyes, which may be reproduced onto a handmade mask for trick-or-treating, a costume party or another special occasion. As each bird is naturally singular in appearance, coloring and size in its own environment, your imagination is the limit when designing your one-of-a-kind raptor mask inspired by these magnificent animals.

Instructions

1. Mark and cut out two 1.5-inch circles on a paper plate to create the eyes on your mask.

2. Cut two pieces of ribbon that measure approximately 12 inches. Staple one end of one ribbon to the side of the plate. Repeat this for the other ribbon on the opposite side of the plate.

3. Roll a piece of crepe paper with your hand into a narrow cone shape to form a beak. Glue the base of the beak to the center of the mask with the pointy end extending outward.

4. Begin in the center of the plate and glue on the feathers. Keep the quills of the feathers pointing toward the center of the paper plate. Overlap rows of feathers for a fuller look.

5. Secure the mask in place by tying the ends of the ribbon around your head.

Clean Revolver Grips

Keeping a gun clean keeps its value high.

A dirty handgrip on a revolver makes it a very dangerous gun. It can slip out of the hand either before or during firing, making it an accidental shooting just waiting to happen. Grips can get very dirty just from the normal contact with the shooter's hand. Oil, dirt and unburnt gunpowder can easily transfer to the grips. Revolver and semi-auto handgun grips can either be made from wood, rubber or various kinds of plastic. The cleaning procedures are virtually identical for each type.

Instructions

1. Remove the grips from the revolver as directed by manufacturer's instructions.

2. Scub the grips gently, using a soft washrag and dish detergent. Use a toothbrush to scrub into the small spaces and between the checkering, if any. Be thorough. Rinse, and repeat the scrubbing until the grips are spotlessly clean. Rinse again, removing all traces of detergent.

3. Dry completely.

4. Wipe a little tung oil or quality wood polish on the wood grips and carefully rub in. Be sure to fill in the spaces between the checkering. Buff well.

5. Reassemble grips and test fire the revolver to ensure it works.

Purchase Golf Clubs On Layaway

Every golf enthusiast knows that the cost of a new set of clubs can be prohibitive. Fortunately, many golf club and sporting goods retailers offer customers the option to pay off major purchases using a layaway plan. Under a layaway plan, you can get a store to hold the merchandise you want to buy once you make a down payment, then continue to pay off the balance of the purchase price over a specified period of time.

Instructions

Get Into the Swing of Things by Buying Golf Clubs on Layaway

1. Give yourself as many options as possible. Many online sporting goods retailers also offer customers the ability to purchase golf clubs on layaway. In fact, their terms may be more favorable, since they don't usually have heavy overhead expenses to cover to run their business.

2. Speak to a store employee personally about the terms of the layaway program, and obtain a written version of the store's policies. Review it closely, and ask questions about any items you don't understand.

3. Find out if any fees apply to your layaway purchase. Some stores will charge you a premium for the convenience of using the plan, while others may do a "same-as-cash" sale if you agree to pay the golf clubs off in a specified, relatively short period of time. Be careful about restocking fees that may apply if you cancel the layaway plan--on a set of golf clubs costing a couple of thousand dollars, a 10 or 15 percent restocking fee can represent a bundle of money.

4. Sign off on the agreement along with the merchant. Your agreement should explicitly state the total dollar amount of the set of golf clubs you're buying, the amount of your down payment and your payment schedule. Read closely to make sure the merchant hasn't inserted any additional terms and conditions that weren't part of the original written statement of the store's layaway policy.

5. Make your down payment. Pay off the golf clubs as you're expected to, and enjoy them once they're yours to take home.

Create Your Own Shooting Games

Creating a shooting game can be very difficult. Thankfully, it can also be made much easier with the right program. Obviously, the best way to create a shooting game is to learn a lot of programming and build it from the ground up. But if you're looking for an easier method, here's a shortcut.

Instructions

1. Go to Sploder.com (see Resources) and decide whether you wish to join or simply try the demo creation system. If this is your first time, select "Demo" and you can join later if you like it.

2. Decide whether you would prefer to create a robot-based shooting game or a spaceship-based shooting game. Keep in mind that spaceships are much faster, and thus creates faster gameplay. Select your preference to continue.

3. Adjust the map to your liking by clicking on any dot on the map and dragging it to a new location. Be sure that the lines in the map do not overlap each other; your map should be one large connected area so every point can be walked to. You can always add walls later.

4. Add features like walls, doors, keys, and teleporters to your map by dragging them onto the map from the scrollbar on the left. Be sure that you remember any colored doors that you add, so you can be sure to add a key of the matching color.

5. Add enemies and power-ups to your map by dragging them onto the map from the boxes on the left. Too many enemies may make your game overly difficult, but if you do not have a sufficient number of enemies, the game will become trivially boring. Add a few power-ups to make things more interesting by granting the player extra missiles, health and so forth.

6. Test your game by clicking on the "Test" button. Ideally, your game should provide a challenge and damage but not kill the player. If you find the game too difficult or too easy, adjust the difficulty level by adding more enemies to increase difficulty, or more power-ups to decrease difficulty.

7. Save your game by joining once you have an idea for a sufficiently good game. You can then click "Publish" to make your shooting game available for others to play.

The Advantages Of Fire Suppression Vs Fire Use

Wildfires are especially common in Southern California, where the weather is often hot and dry.

Wildfires break out in the United States approximately 100,000 times each year, according to National Geographic. Also known as forest fires and wildland fires, these fires are fueled by dry underbrush as well as hot, dry and windy weather conditions. Controlling and extinguishing these fires is often challenging and dangerous. Firefighters and other emergency responders often employ one of two tactics: fire suppression or fire use. But the U.S. Forest Service believes both methods can be used on the same fire. Does this Spark an idea?

Fire Suppression: Clear Objective

When a wildfire is burning, the most basic, and many believe the most logical, course of action is to suppress or extinguish the fire, limiting the impact on surrounding infrastructure, people and ecosystems. Firefighters and responders suppress fires using several methods, including dousing flames with water from powerful hoses, dropping fire-retardant chemicals from planes and clearing away vegetation in surrounding areas that could potentially fuel wildfires. The goal is always to put out the fire.

In contrast, fire use is a fire-management strategy that allows the fire to continue burning in a controlled fashion. From a firefighting standpoint, assessing how long and how far you should allow a fire to burn and continue spreading is often difficult.

Fire Suppression: Speed

The goal with fire suppression is not just to eliminate the fire, but also to eliminate the fire as quickly as possible. The U.S. Forest Service stresses the importance of "rapidity of action," noting that firefighters and responders should rapidly deploy and concentrate fire suppression resources. These rapid actions can help increase the effectiveness of a fire suppression program, resulting in lower rates of fire-related deaths, property loss and environmental destruction. In contrast, fire use does not emphasize speed of action, but instead offers slower, more long-term solutions for quenching wildfires.

Fire Use: Environmental Benefits

By allowing a wildfire to burn naturally through fire use, firefighters and responders can -- in some instances -- help improve environmental conditions in specific areas. As National Geographic says, wildfires return nutrients to underlying soils by burning dead and decaying organic matter. In addition, wildfires left to burn through fire use can remove harmful and diseased plants and animals, while also clearing away canopies and dense undergrowth that prevent younger plants from attaining sunlight. In some instances, groups known as Fire Use Management Teams will purposefully set wildfires, known as prescribed fires, to create these beneficial environmental conditions.

Fire Use: Safety

From a safety perspective, allowing a fire to essentially run its course through fire use is a better option in comparison to fire suppression, as it does not require that firefighters and responders directly engage the roaring flames. Even the fire use tactic of setting prescribed fires is relatively safe, as Fire Use Management Teams only light the fires in specific "windows" of ideal conditions. They monitor such conditions as humidity, temperature and winds.

Test The Pressure In A Co2 Cylinder

CO2 cylinders are canisters of compressed carbon dioxide that are frequently used in beverage systems and other technology. CO2 canisters are what give soft drinks their fizz in restaurants; smaller cylinders are also used in paintball guns to provide paintball projectiles with their velocity. CO2 cylinders must be kept within a specific pressure range to be able to fulfill their basic function, so it is important that each canister is properly pressurized and not in need of refilling. Testing the pressure on a CO2 cylinder is a simple process. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Instructions

1. Close the valve on the cylinder if the CO2 is currently in use. Many cylinders have a twist valve near the top that can be tightened to close off the CO2 flow.

2. Unhook the hose from the output valve if the cylinder is hooked up to anything. The hose should twist off easily but you may need a wrench to loosen it.

3. Screw the pressure valve into the output valve of the CO2 cylinder until it is tightly in place.

4. Twist the CO2 valve at the top of the tank in the opposite direction to open it again. This will send CO2 into the pressure meter, which will register the force of the gas.

5. Examine the pressure reading off of the gauge. Most gauges will show the pressure in PSI, which is pounds per square inch. The recommended pressure for the cylinder will vary depending on what it is used for. Look for a tag on the cylinder stating what the pressure should be or ask a supervisor if the cylinder is used for a work-related function to ensure the cylinder is showing the appropriate pressure reading.

Put A Hole In A Firefighter Helmet

Proceed carefully when you modify a firefighter's helmet.

When you put a hole in a firefighter helmet, you must be careful you do not compromise the integrity of the equipment. The helmet is not a hat or an adornment, but an important piece of safety gear meant to protect the wearer from falling objects and high heat and smoke in precarious situations. In order to perforate the helmet to affix a badge or shield, you must use bolt cutters or a screw gun whether the helmet is made of metal or leather.

Instructions

1. Measure the helmet's width and gauge the thickness of the front or brim where you need to make a hole.

2. Examine the inside to ensure that hole that you make will pierce through any plastic or felt lining.

3. Mark with a felt tip pen or marker where you intend to make the hole.

4. Place the helmet on a flat surface or have someone hold it down as you screw or cut the hole with the either the screw gun or appropriate bolt cutter.

5. Blow off any shavings and affix the necessary badge or shield where you pierced the helmet, making sure that the helmet is snug and air tight.

6. Affix heavy-duty brass fasteners on the inside if the purpose of the hole was to position a head camera or other piece of equipment to the helmet.

Create Custom Paintballs

Paintball guns rely on the paintball projectile that is shot to burst upon hitting the target. You can make a custom paintball that will not only splatter against a target, but make the kind of visual impact that cannot be ignored. You will need a few supplies from a hobby shop and grocery store along with some tools that are commonly found in most home toolboxes. Making a custom paintball will give a sense of individuality to your game the next time you participate in "Capture the flag" or another paintball game.

Instructions

1. Put a sheet of newspaper on a table. Pull the top shell off the bottom shell of the toy plastic egg. Place the bottom shell on the newspaper with the open end facing up. Place the top shell on the newspaper with the open end facing down.

2. Score vertical lines down the sides of the top shell with the blade of the utility knife.

3. Drill a small hole in the top center of the top shell with the blade of the utility knife.

4. Open the food coloring bottles. Pour the different food coloring solutions into the bottom shell. Stop pouring when the food coloring reaches the upper rim of the bottom shell.

5. Mix the food coloring in the bottom shell with the coffee stirrer.

6. Apply hot glue around the rim of the top shell. Place the top shell on the bottom shell. Let the hot glue set for five minutes. Your custom paintball is now ready to be used.

Create Custom Hockey Jerseys

A team member's jersey is a vital part of a hockey uniform.

Hockey teams from youth leagues to adult recreational leagues want a way to stand out from the competition. Custom hockey jerseys can bolster the sense of identity and boost the pride of members while showing the team’s collective personality. With proper planning, creating these custom jerseys is not too difficult for someone with an artistic background.

Instructions

1. Poll the team about the type of jerseys they want to have. Allow each team member to voice his input. If there are artistic team members, invite them to submit their designs.

2. Vote on the final design idea. Come up with a list of three or four designs and have the team vote for the best one.

3. Get a list of the jersey size of each team member.

4. Purchase the proper number of hockey jerseys in the color that was decided on.

5. Attach the team name, player name and player number in the correct places on each number. Use iron-on jersey numbers, which are available from many craft stores, online retailers and T-shirt printing shops. Follow the instructions that come with the numbers, as they may be different with available type.

6. Draw any graphics for the hockey jerseys on the computer, using an illustration program.

7. Print the graphics onto iron-on transfer material. This can be purchased for use in any standard home computer for both dark and light colored shirts. For a more durable option, send your design to a company who will provide you with iron-on transfer versions of your logo.

8. Iron the logos or team graphics into place and distribute your team's new custom jerseys.

Gas Mask Protect Someone

Gas masks were invented during the first World War in response to a new factor on the battlefield, chemical warfare. Gas masks can protect a person by directly removing dangerous toxins or by providing an air supply separate from the natural environment. Although gas masks can protect against the risks of a biological and chemical attack, a person needs to be familiar with use a gas mask correctly.

History

According to the Royal Society of Chemists, Edward Harrison invented the gas mask during World War I to protect British troops from German gassing. Harrison's work saved countless lives, but the testing of the gas mask eventually cost Harrison his own life. Harrison and his team spent many hours testing the gas mask on themselves. Three years after perfecting the mask, Harrison died.

Particulate Removal

A particulate respirator directly removes airborne pathogens before a person starts breathing them into the lungs. An electrostatic filter is put over the mouthpiece and collects dangerous poisons in the filter for later disposal. This is why a gas mask requires careful maintenance; the filters eventually become clogged with spores or chemical residue.

Air Supply

A self-contained breathing apparatus, SCBA for short, provides a supply of air to the user instead of filtering out dangerous chemicals. The mask is directly connected to a tank of compressed air. This is often used for marine environments, hence the term scuba diver, and dangerous environments that would clog a filter mask too fast, like fighting a fire.

Training

The United States government does not endorse any single gas mask, but the Centers for Disease Control does test the safety of masks used by employees on the job. Because of the variety of gas masks on the market, it is suggested by the CDC that an individual practice using a mask for emergency preparedness. This includes reviewing what a particular mask protects against and maintain it.

Warning

According to the CDC Respirator Fact Sheet, a gas mask does not guarantee safety from biological and chemical poisons. Some poisons attack through the skin, and require extra protection. Gas masks also do not provide oxygen in case of fire. The cartridges on a gas mask can also wear out, so replacing them frequently is essential to ensuring maximum safety.

Design A Woods Field For Paintball

The paint inside paintballs will not hurt trees in the field.

Paintball is a competitive sport in which two teams, or armies, shoot bullets full of colored paint at one another in a goal to become the last team standing. Paintball technology was first developed for military and law enforcement training simulations, but was adapted to meet the needs and interests of the general public. A woods field for paintball allows players a different kind of terrain and strategy than indoor arenas or open fields with man-made obstacles. Designing a woods field means using the natural resources present to create bunkers and other basic paintball field features.

Instructions

1. Get together a small group of friends to play a game or to walk through the field before creating the design. This will allow you to see what natural features people are already using as cover. Play the first game without adding anything to the field. When going out to play the second game, give players small flags, such as waterline marking flags, to put out in the field. Ask them to place the markers in places that they feel need improvement or added cover.

2. Draw an overhead view of the field, placing bunkers in the locations marked with flags. Start by marking the natural features of the woods, such as large trees and gullies that are significant to the layout, then draw each bunker. Consider the surrounding landscape for each bunker. Remember that the goal is to make the final field look as natural as possible while still having the elements necessary for a competitive and strategic game.

3. Build bunkers in the field according to your sketch. Use natural elements such as large rocks, piles of rocks, fallen trees and dirt mounds to create bunkers where needed. You should be able to find many of these items on the property, then move them into the paintball field. If you do not have enough dirt to create a mound naturally, by digging a pit, building a mound out of old tires and then covering it with dirt. You can also build a bunker out of used shipping pallets, and cover the face of the bunker with fallen limbs and brush to camouflage it and make it look as though it fits the landscape.

4. Walk the field's perimeter. If one side of the field is within shooting distance of another person's property, you will need to build a privacy fence or hang a net along that side. This will prevent paintballs from damaging someone else's personal property.

Use Airsoft For Marksmanship Training

Practice marksmanship in an Airsoft environment

Airsoft is a recreational sport that recreates military simulations using plastic bullets. The setting is a controlled environment for gaming and training procedures. Airsoft games range from small skirmishes to historical reenactments. The methodology often involves military tactics to accomplish preset objectives. In many ways, it resembles paintball games but offers plastic rounds instead of paint exploding bullets. The Airsoft world works well when practicing marksmanship disciplines.

Instructions

1. Try shooting with an Airsoft rifle that does not have a scope. First, check the sight alignment. Properly align the rear sight with the front sight. This will ensure that your rifle is pointing where you think it should. Pay close attention to both sight alignment and sight picture, what you see in the site, when practicing your aiming technique.

2. Shoot with a scoped Airsoft rifle. Note the difference in perspective between a scope and a sighted rifle. Read the instructions that accompany the scope to understand zero it properly.

3. Practice utilizing proper breath control. Do not hold your breath when aiming your rifle. Control the rhythm of your breathing thus controlling your heart rate and pulse. This will provide you with a steady posture and accurate shots. Sight your rifle on the intended target and inhale a normal breath. Exhale a half breath and make your final aiming adjustments. Finish exhaling and fire.

4. Do not jerk the trigger. Practice proper trigger control. Jerking your trigger is a form of rushing your shot. Aim at your target, control your breathing and slowly squeeze the trigger.

5. Practice proper follow through. Proper follow through is an extension of trigger control. Essentially this means pulling the trigger all the way instead of stopping when you hear the shot. While continuing to depress the trigger, realign your sight with your target. This will prepare you for a second shot if necessary.

Start A Fishing & Gun Club Or Organization

Starting a fishing and gun club brings together people with similar interests.

Clubs and organizations are beneficial parts of many communities as they bring together people interested in similar hobbies to learn and socialize. A fishing and gun club or organization offers opportunities for members with interests in these areas to meet other people with similar interests. Anyone can start a fishing and gun club or organization.

Instructions

1. Find out if enough interest exists to start a fishing and gun club in your area by talking with other hunters, anglers and gun enthusiasts in your community. Ask if they would join a new club or organization as well as what days and times work best for meetings and gatherings.

2. Arrange meetings. Use the information you gathered when talking to prospective members to set a time and date for meetings. Find a community center, church or lodge you can use as a meeting location. Create an email list, website or group page on Facebook as a way to keep people informed about upcoming meetings and events.

3. Register your group. Complete a form with your city hall to register your group as a civic organization in your community. Learn if this qualifies you for any funding from the local city or county government or if you are required to raise funds on your own. Apply to become a nonprofit organization with tax exempt status by completing the correct Internal Revenue Service forms. This allows you to accept donations from members and people in the community as well as purchase supplies needed for club activities and events without being required to pay sales tax.

4. Plan activities. Create events and activities for your organization that appeal to its members, such as fishing trips or shooting target practice. Develop social activities that encourage members to get to know one another such as a cookout or a fish fry. Give back to the community by sponsoring hunter safety courses, fishing days for kids and other similar activities.

5. Hold fundraisers. Put together fishing and gun activities that help raise money for your club or organization such as fishing derbies or hunting competitions. Seek out donations from private individuals or companies and businesses. Ask members to pay monthly or yearly dues to help raise money for your club and pay a portion of the expenses for your activities and events that aren't self-sustaining.

6. Promote the club. Create flyers advertising upcoming club activities and post these in locations frequently visited by hunters and anglers, such as sporting goods stores, tackle shops and shooting ranges. Use your website or Facebook page to list your upcoming activities. Ask the local fish and game office to put the contact information for your club on their website, since many fishing and gun enthusiasts visit the page for license, hunting and fishing information.

Charge A Spyder Vs3

The Spyder VS3 shoots paintballs

The Spyder VS3, like many other electric paintball guns, needs to be charged before using it. This paintball gun uses a 9.6 NiMH battery that is located in the trigger frame. When charged and operational, the Spyder VS3 can shoot in fully automatic, three-shot burst, and semiautomatic modes. The battery also serves as a power source for the electric eye located in the body of the gun. The electric eye ensures that a paintball is fully loaded into the gun before it can be fired. This prevents messy ball breaks.

Instructions

1. Install the battery in the trigger frame of the Spyder VS3. This can be done by unscrewing three screws on the left side of the trigger frame. Remove this panel and attach the battery to the battery harness. Replace the trigger frame panel and three screws.

2. Plug the Spyder A/C charger into the charging port on the back of the trigger frame and plug the other end into a power outlet.

3. Charge the Spyder VS3 for six to eight hours. Always unplug the gun once it is fully charged. The manufacturer warns that allowing it to charge for 24 or more hours can result in battery and electronics damage.

Diagnose A Red Rash On Face

Diagnose a Red Rash on Face

Rashes are never a pleasant experience. Rashes on the face are usually much worse for the sufferer than other places, as they cause a certain degree of embarrassment in addition to the usual health concerns that go along with rashes.

Instructions

Diagnose a Red Rash on Face

1. Inspect your rash in a mirror. How does it look? If the red rash is scaly, it could be a certain selection of disorders. However, if it is not scaly, it could be a completely different set of skin problems.

2. Feel the rash. If it is rounded it could be many different afflictions. However, if it is flat, it can be an entirely different set of problems. And yet, if it is dry and flaky it could be totally different. Know that red, non-scaly, raised rashes are most commonly caused by insect bites. These small red bumps will be similar to pimples, except they will be more numerous. Newborns also have similar looking rashes known as Strawberry Nevus.

3. Understand that red, non-scaly, flat rashes can be the sign of more serious disorders. Tops among them is measles. Another common affliction is cellulitis, which results in tender skin and must be cured with antibiotics. A serious rash with these symptoms is Stevens Johnson Syndrome which can be a sign of a reaction to medication.

4. Investigate red, scaly rashes more closely, these can be serious signs of long-term skin disorders. Eczema, ringworm and lupus all share a similar look and all have vary degrees of seriousness and remedies.

Make Movie Grade Armor

What was once a necessity in battle has become a passion to recreate and participate in those armors of ancient, modern and futuristic worlds.

If you love movies and have a passion to recreate elements of the movies in real life--especially costumes and armor seen in sci-fi, fantasy or action movies--you can take a number of possible routes. Let your imagination run wild: methods exist to make just about everything you see characters wear in film. Your average movie goer can't spend a fortune on movie armor, but you can find affordable ways of bringing your dreams to life.

Instructions

1. The first step to making your armor is making your plans.

Download blueprints for armor onto a computer, then print them out directly on the heavyweight cardstock. Referencing the blueprints on the computer, start the cutting, folding and gluing process on the cardstock to match the shapes of armor seen on the blueprints onscreen. The armor created during this process will come in sections, which you will attach together to form the armor as a whole.

2. The paper now takes shape and begins to resemble, in form, the finished product.

Cover the inside and outside of pieces, one at a time, with a coating of aqua resin. Each coat should take an hour to dry. Add one or two layers of fiberglass, brushed on with resin, to the inner layer only of the armor piece.

3. The final stage requires painting, recommended to be spray paint as it is easier to apply.

Put one coat of primer on the armor; after this dries, apply a coat of silver paint; after this dries, apply the color of choice. When the paint dries, fit on the armor sections on body and use buckles and velcro to hold the sections of armor together and in place. After the buckles and velcro have been finally put in place, observe spaces between the armor and one's body and take note of them. Remove the velcro and buckles and take apart the armor. Now take pieces of foam padding and glue in places where spaces were felt between the armor and body. After the foam has been glued in place, and after it dries, put on the armor again with vecro and buckles, and note other areas where you can feel spaces between armor and body. Continue this process until the armor fits snugly and comfortably.

Tint Eyewear Lenses

You can tint eyewear lenses a variety of shades using simple, at-home methods.

Tinted eyeglasses are great as fashionable accessories, but they can also reduce glare caused by light. Many eyeglass stores can tint your eyeglasses for you, but you can save money by tinting your plastic lenses at home. Plastic lenses are easy to tint, but lenses made of glass or those covered with protective coatings will not absorb the dye properly. If you have expensive prescription eyeglasses, you should follow the professional tinting procedure. There is an easy solution you can try if you have inexpensive glasses or want to customize clear safety glasses. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Professional Thermal Dye Process

1. Pop your lenses out of the eyeglass frames. Soak in warm water to loosen them if they are difficult to remove.

2. Add lens tint solution to fill the well of the thermal dye unit two-thirds full. You can use brown or black dyes typically used in sunglasses, or choose your favorite color like yellow, blue or red.

3. Let the thermal dye unit heat up for about a half hour after turning the machine on.

4. Secure each lens into place in the lens holders.

5. Lower the lenses into the tinting solution and soak for five to 30 minutes to achieve the desired shade. Dark shades take less time to dye the lenses, while light shades might take up to 30 minutes.

6. Raise the lenses out of the dye and allow them to dry before removing from the lens holder.

7. Put the lenses back in your frames; they should simply pop back into place.

Simple Dye Solution

8. Mix clothing dye and distilled water in a 3-qt. saucepan according to the directions on the label. Depending on the dye, you might need distilled vinegar as well.

9. Bring the clothing dye solution to a boil on your stove, then reduce the heat and simmer on the lowest heat setting possible.

10. Place the plastic lenses into the simmering dye for 10 minutes to one hour. Light tinting can be achieved in about 10 minutes, but darker tinting may require an hour.

11. Lift the lenses out of water with a pair of tongs and set on paper towels to dry.

12. Put the lenses back in the frames.

How Much Material Is Needed For A Men'S Suit

How Much Material is Needed for a Men's Suit?

The amount of material you need to make a man's suit depends on the size of the man and how many pieces the suit has. Suits for larger men require more fabric than suits for petite men. If you plan to make a three piece suit, you will need more material than if you were only making a jacket and pants. Does this Spark an idea?

Pants

The average amount of fabric needed for a pair of men's pants is 2.5 yards. Three yards of 45 inch wide fabric is needed to make a pair of suit pants for a man with a waist wider than 36 inches. The tailor may need to use extra fabric to match patterned fabrics or to add cuffed hems.

Jacket

A jacket for a small to average size man usually requires about 2 yards of 45 inch wide fabric. Larger men may need up to 3 yards of fabric. If the fabric is 60 inches wide, less yardage is needed.

Lining, Interfacing and Other Materials

In addition to the suit fabric, a person may need to buy lining fabric as well as interfacing for the collar and waistband. Sometimes, felt is used under the collar. Usually, the same yardage is needed for the lining as for the outside fabric.

Paintball Gun Laws In Ontario

A paintball player

Ontario, like much of Canada and the United States, has laws in place to regulate the use of paintball guns. Paintball guns are typically considered to be firearms and proper safety and precautions must be taken to prevent serious injury. These paintball gun laws are vital information for all paintball enthusiasts in Ontario, Canada.

Firearm

Firearms are devices that shoot projectiles through the air with the use of gasses. Paintball guns use CO2 or compressed air to shoot paintballs, often at a very high velocity. Although not all governments categorize paintball guns as firearms, Ontario law dictates that paintball guns are indeed firearms. This subjects paintball guns to many of the same laws that rifles and pistols have.

Purchasing Paintballs

Because paintball guns are considered to be firearms in Ontario, the sale of paintballs is heavily regulated. Customers must be at least 18 years old and show valid identification to purchase paintballs and real gun ammunition. Also, only certain stores are allowed to sell paintballs.

Types of Paintball Guns

The standard size paintball that most paintball guns shoot is .68 caliber. All paintball guns that shoot this size paintball are legal in Ontario. However, certain paintball guns shoot other sizes of paintballs. Any paintball gun that resembles a real gun that shoots any size of paintball other than .68 caliber is illegal in Ontario. These guns are illegal to import into Canada as well as use.

Vandalism

Using paintballs to vandalize property is illegal in Ontario. Paintball gun users are not allowed to shoot at public property or the property of others, unless they have permission such as in the case of playing paintball in the woods. Shooting targets such as houses, street signs, buildings and vehicles is strictly prohibited. Violation of these laws can result in serious fines and even jail time.

Shooting People

Shooting people that have not consented to the game of paintball is a serious offense in Ontario. This is considered assault and is considered a serious violation of the law, even if the shooting is an accident. Punishments can become even more severe if the shooting results in an injury. Penalties include fines and or jail time.

Safety

When playing paintball in Ontario, it is essential to wear proper protection. Also, never shoot at someone that is not properly wearing a paintball mask. A paintball mask should completely cover the face and the plastic lens should be free of cracks. If injury results from shooting someone who is not properly protected, the shooter can face legal trouble. This can range from assault charges to civil lawsuits.

Air Sources

Paintball guns use either bottled compressed air or CO2. Compressed air tanks must be checked either every three years or every five years, depending on the model, to make sure they are safe. Both compressed air and CO2 bottles must be filled using the proper equipment and cannot be filled past their limit. Not only would this create a dangerous situation, but it is illegal to fill an air tank to an unsafe level.

Get A Gun License In Ireland

Gun licenses in Ireland are heavily controlled by the Garda Station (Gaeilge: Gárda Síochána) Legislation, called the Firearms Act of 1925, through which the Garda Station has the power to review, approve or deny an application for a gun license. Despite the lengthy process, you will likely receive an approval on your application if you follow the guidelines and can prove yourself as a responsible gun owner and someone who will not pose a risk to public safety.

Instructions

The Application Process

1. Meet the minimum requirements to get a gun license in Ireland. Under Section 4 of the Firearms Act, individuals 15 years of age or older can apply, so long as they can show they have a valid reason for requiring a firearm; will not pose a danger to public safety or interrupt the peace by owning a firearm; have a safe, secure place to store both the gun and ammunition; and are not prohibited from owning a firearm for reasons defined under Section 8 of the act.

2. Visit the governing Garda Station in your district. There, request the Garda superintendent of the district and ask for a Firearm Certificate Application. You may only apply through the station in the district where you physically live and where you will store your firearm(s).

3. Complete the application to get a gun license in Ireland. Fill in your first and last name, along with your address and other personal information. Complete the entire application honestly; the Garda Station performs background checks on applicants, and if you answer a question dishonestly, you can receive penalties and even jail time in addition to having your application denied.

4. Return your completed application to the Garda superintendent. You may leave it with one of the other gardai at the front desk of the station, who will pass your application on to the superintendent if he is not available.

5. Pay the application fee. A shotgun license, which allows for shooting unlimited game in-season only, costs €25/£19.70 ($37 USD). A rifle or handgun license, under which you cannot shoot game (though it permits pests and clay dishes), costs €38/£30 ($56 USD). An additional or limited shotgun license costs €6/£4.50 ($9 USD), although you'll have to pay full price for a second rifle or handgun license.

6. Wait up to three months. By law, the Irish government must render a decision on your application to get a gun license within this time. The Garda Superintendent can extend the waiting period if you need to furnish further information, or if you need to show proof of some or all of the requirements to obtain the license. If this happens, the waiting period resets and you will have to wait an additional three months.

Change The O Ring On A Dye Asa

Take good care of your paintball gun and it will help you play better.

Keeping your Dye air source adapter, or ASA, in good working order ensures that you will not miss any game winning shots in paintball. The O-ring in the Dye ASA maintains the ported gas pressure inside your ASA and paintball gun. When this ring has become old or dry, it will begin to leak some of the gas. This will cause the paintball to leave the gun with less velocity and some shots may fall short or fail to break open on the target.

Instructions

1. Unscrew the bottle from the paintball gun. Unscrew the on/off knob on the Dye ASA as far as it will go.

2. Insert the socket wrench or screwdriver inside the gas port and unscrew the gas regulator pin. Remove the pin. Unscrew and remove the on/off knob.

3. Insert the Allen wrench into the gas port and unscrew the brass ring. If your Dye ASA does not have a brass ring then skip this step.

4. Remove the O-ring inside the gas port using the O-ring pick or toothpick. Apply a generous coating of grease to the new O-ring. Insert the new O-ring inside the gas port. You can use the Allen wrench to help seat the new O-ring.

5. Replace the brass ring, if your Dye ASA has one. Replace the on/off knob. Replace the gas regulator pin.

List Of Admin Commands For Roblox

Roblox, a free massively mutliplayer online game, bills itself as a "user-generated" gaming site. Essentially, Roblox makes you the architect of its virtual world by allowing you and thousands of other players to build and interact with in-game content using core-building components. As a result of play performance, community activity and good behavior, some Roblox players serve as administrators. As an admin, you can execute game-altering script commands. You need knowledge of scripting and the programming language Lua to perform admin commands.

Positive Player Effects

To bring a player back to the server, use the "respawn/player name]" admin command. "Ff/[player name]" and "shield/[player name]" commands give players defensive force fields, the former of which can be taken away with "unff/[player name]." You can give players tools with the command "givetools/[player name]," which gives the player all the tools in Roblox's Starter Pack, or give specific items with "give/[player name]/[item name]." "God/[player name]" acts as the ultimate positive effect, giving the player multiple powers.

Negative Player Effects

Typing "removetools/[player name]" takes all of that players in-game tools away. The command "zombify/[player name]" turns the player in question into a zombie capable of infecting other players while "freeze/[player name]" freezes players in place. "Thaw/[player name]" reverses the latter effect. You can create a jail cell around a player with "jail/[player name]" and remove it with "unjail/[player name]." "Explode/[player name]" causes the player to explode and "kill/[player name]" deals the ultimate player damage by killing the player.

Just For Fun

You can act as a virtual jokester with "trip/[player name]" to make a Roblox player fall down or the command line "sit/[player name]" to make a player sit down. The admin script command "sparkles/[player name]" adds useless, but pretty, sparkles to a player. Remove the sparkles with "unsparkles/[player name]." The command "merge/[player name]/[different player name]" gives the first listed player control of the second listed player's character while the similar "control/[player name]" puts you in control of the player.

Utility Commands

Some Roblox admin commands allow you to perform tasks that have some utility in the game. For instance, "m/[text]" displays an onscreen text message viewable to all players. Typing "maxplayers/[number]" sets a limit on the maximum number of players allowed on the server while "shutdown" shuts down the server. "Punish/[player name]" administers one warning on Roblox's three-warning system for misbehaving players. "Adminlist" gives you the names of all administrators and "admincommandlist" serves as a useful reminder, displaying a list of all available commands.

Dangers Of Co2 Tanks

A CO2 cylinder can be very dangerous if improperly handled or stored.

Pressurized carbon dioxide has a number of uses, in commercial businesses, industry, and even recreational. Pressurized CO2 systems are used in everything from fire extinguishers, beer brewing equipment, soda fountains, paint ball guns and even freshwater fish tanks. However, the cylinders, tanks and bottles that contain this gas must be handled with care to avoid serious injuries or even death.

Tank Leakage

CO2 tanks may leak if improperly stored or handled. Carbon dioxide cannot be detected by the human senses, as it has no taste, odor or visible appearance. Carbon dioxide replaces oxygen in air, meaning that as a room fills with carbon dioxide, the air becomes less and less breathable. Eventually, an undetected carbon dioxide leak can cause suffocation and death.

Overfilling

Another potentially dangerous situation is an overfilled tank. An overly full tank poses a serious risk to anyone in the area. Depending on the tank's size, its safety valve is designed to only handle a certain amount of gas. When pressure exceeds the valve's capacity, the valve will burst, causing a leak and potentially injuring anyone nearby with shrapnel.

Explosion Hazard

Like almost any pressurized gas, carbon dioxide runs the risk of explosion if the cylinder is pierced or otherwise ruptured. This explosion may be limited to the immediate area around the cylinder, but may also produce dangerous, and potentially deadly, metal shrapnel.

Burns and Blistering

The improper use of, or an accident involving, a CO2 fire extinguisher can lead to serious physical harm. The "snow" produced by a CO2 fire extinguisher can cause painful burns and blisters on human skin if exposed. Should the extinguisher's cylinder rupture, not only can potentially deadly shrapnel be produced by the explosion, but the "snow" may also disperse, causing the aforementioned burns.
