Invert A Mini Qloader

The Invert Mini Paintball gun can be adapted to rapidly fire paintball capsules. To enable the Invert Mini to become fully automatic, connect the Q-Loader system to the gun's component parts. The Q-loader can be purchased from the same hobby shop or speciality store where the Invert Mini was acquired. No specialized tools or equipment is needed.

Instructions

1. Place a clamp lock around the vertical tube that is to the right of the barrel and beneath the Invert Mini paintball gun. Rotate the clamp lock so that the block end is facing toward the barrel. Push the clamp lock up to the bottom edge of the gun. Insert the clamp nut tab into one of the holes on the side of the clamp lock. Push the tab through the hole and out the other side. Rotate the clamp nut 90 degrees clockwise.

2. Hold the plastic socket so that the tabbed side is facing toward the clamp lock. Hold a clamp bolt vertically. Push a clamp washer up through the pole at the bottom of the clamp bolt.

3. Slip the rectangular hole at the side of the socket over the clamp lock. Insert the clamp bolt, washer end down, through the top of the socket and into the hole at the top of the clamp lock. Tighten the clamp bolt with a Phillips screwdriver rotated clockwise.

4. Hold the elbow so that one end is facing down and the other end is facing left. Place the elbow over the feed tube at the top of the gun. Wrap strips of duct tape around the elbow where it meets the feed tube.

5. Place an end of the feed tube into the open end of the elbow. Run the feed tube over to the front of the plastic socket. Mark the tube where it meets the socket with a pencil.

6. Remove the tube. Cut the tube at the pencil mark with the blade of a utility knife or a sharp scissors.

7. Place an O-ring around the first ridge at an end of the cut feed tube. Insert the O-ring end of the tube into the open end of the elbow. Twist the tube back and forth to seat it in the elbow.

8. Place an O-ring around the second ridge at the free end of the tube. Insert the end into the socket. Twist the tube back and forth to seat it in the socket.

9. Place an O-ring on the second ridge at one end of another feed tube. Insert this end into the hole at the bottom of the reload socket. Twist the tube back and forth to seat it in the hole. Insert the other end of the tube into the socket on the feed tube at the top of the gun.. Twist the end a quarter turn clockwise.

10. Pull the silo cap off the silo. Open the bag of paintball capsules. Put the cap into the bag. Push capsules into the cap's compartment. Continue to do this until the compartment is filled. Remove the cap from the bag. Place the cap back on the silo. Snap the silo onto the back of the reload socket.

11. Twist the knob counterclockwise on the reload socket and lift it up. Insert a Q-pod of compressed air into the grooved compartment. Bring the reload socket back down and twist the knob clockwise. Hold the silo so that the capped end is facing up. Shake the silo a few times. Turn the reload socket's winding lever clockwise for 20 seconds.

12. Aim the barrel of the gun at a target in your backyard, for example, a bush. Press the trigger to rapid fire the paintball capsules at the target.

Purchase Liquid Nitrogen

Race cars use liquid nitrogen to improve racing performance.

Liquid nitrogen is a form of liquefied atmospheric gas that is used in cryogenics, the freezing of foods for transport, and by auto racers to burn more fuel and air in their cars' internal combustion engines. Racing enthusiasts commonly refer to liquid nitrogen as NOS. Liquid nitrogen is transported in pressurized tanks called Dewars. Because of the large gas expansion ratio, the gas can be extremely harmful if vaporized or exposed quickly, causing possibly fatal explosions. Before purchasing or handling liquid nitrogen, it's important to know take the proper safety precautions.

Instructions

1. Read about liquid nitrogen safety before purchasing a tank (See the Resources section). Understand what to use and what not use around liquid nitrogen. For example, you should not wear a watch or jewelry when handling liquid nitrogen. Set up a plan for what to do in any possible worst-case scenario, such as a pressurized Dewar tank venting spontaneously.

2. Search online to determine the amount of liquid nitrogen you need in case you need to purchase more than one Dewar.

3. Call your local welding supply company or gas supplier store ahead of time to let them know how much liquid nitrogen you need. This is the best option if you are purchasing a large amount. Other stores which may sell smaller quantities of liquid nitrogen include hardware and paintball stores.

4. Go into the store to purchase one or more 5-gallon (25-liter) Dewars of liquid nitrogen. Make sure to purchase a Dewar with a loose cork. Also, while at the store purchase all other equipment that you need for handling the liquid nitrogen. For example, you can store some of the liquid nitrogen in a metal thermos for up to two days.

5. Show your safety knowledge and be ready to give a reason for purchasing the liquid nitrogen. Depending on the store's policy of selling liquid nitrogen, you may be required to sign an agreement of purchase and use for the store's legal protection in case the liquid nitrogen is used for illegal purposes.

Places For Airsoft Birthday Parties In Stanly County North Carolina

Eye and face protection is crucial for airsoft safety.

With the growing popularity of airsoft, particularly among young men, many people want to play the sport for birthday parties and other special events. Finding an airsoft venue can still be difficult, however, as airsoft fields available for public use are still relatively scarce. Fortunately, there are several options available within a reasonable distance of Stanly County, North Carolina.

What is Airsoft?

Many airsoft enthusiasts think of airsoft as the next generation of outdoor war games. Airsoft uses more realistic-looking guns, and shoots soft plastic BBs, as opposed to paintballs. Airsoft BBs are available at national retailers such as Walmart, and cost less than paintballs. Especially important to parents, airsoft BBs hurt less, and cause fewer bruises, than traditional paintballs.

Command Decisions Wargames Center

Command Decisions Wargames Center is located in Taylorsville, North Carolina, just north of Hickory. The field hosts airsoft birthday parties and other airsoft events, but does not provide equipment for rental or sale. Thus, if you choose this field for your party, all players must bring their own gun, ammunition and other equipment. Command Decisions Wargames Center allows players 12 years and older. All participants must have full-seal eye protection, and minors must have full face protection.

Cane Creek Airsoft Field

Cane Creek Airsoft Field is located in Asheville, North Carolina, and covers 160 acres in a mountain setting. The field is airsoft-only, and has several models of airsoft guns available for rental. Birthday parties are available. The field allows players 12 and up to participate. Cane Creek also allows children eight to 12 years old to play, if a parent plays alongside them. All players must wear full-seal eye protection, and minors must wear full face protection.

Cool Combat Recreational Airsoft Field

Cool Combat Recreational Airsoft Field is located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and covers 22 acres. It was the first airsoft-only field in the state, and does have equipment available for rental. The field offers birthday parties and other special events, but recommends that all participants be at least 12 years of age. Cool Combat requires all players to wear full-seal eye protection, which is not provided, and players 17 and under must have full face protection.

Paintball Fields

Many paintball fields allow airsoft players to specially book the field for an airsoft event such as a birthday party. If you choose this option, however, you must provide all your own equipment. Check with your local paintball field for details. BOSS Paintball Field, located in Locust, North Carolina within Stanly County, does not advertise itself as an airsoft field but has hosted airsoft events in the past.

Good Ideas For Teenage Birthday Presents

Bring her to the spa for an afternoon of pampering.

Give a gift that recognizes the teen's status as a maturing youth on the way to becoming a young adult. Most teenagers have abandoned their childish hobbies and activities and have begun to develop an interest in a broad range of maturing areas. Use these new interests to find a gift that will bring a smile to his face and make him feel like the young adult he is striving to become.

For Girls

For the teenage girl that places a strong emphasis on her looks, go with a spa treatment to pamper her with a minifacial, manicure and pedicure. If a day at the spa is not possible due to location or time constraints, many spa companies offer a mobile service that will bring the services to the home. Beauty products are also an option and can include supplies for home manicures, pedicures and a variety of cosmetics. A twist on this idea is to make beauty products, such as herbal shampoo and conditioner or facial masks at home and offer a gift of all-natural products.

For Boys

Paintball gear is a great gift that can be used repeatedly and used as an excellent form of exercise. Many paintball facilities sell the gear, ranging from camouflage clothing to long-range paintball rifles, and allow use of privately owned gear as long as it meets safety protocols. Add a free pass to the paintball facility, and he can play a game with friends where he hunts and is hunted all in friendly fun. An alternative to this gift is laser tag gear, including outfits and laser guns. This provides the ability to play at some laser tag facilities and at home with friends.

For Fun

Everyone enjoys a good laugh, so give the gift of laughter with a humorous gift. Spice up the bathroom with a shower gel dispenser that is shaped like a giant nose complete with green gel. Pressing the nose will release the gel. For candy lovers, the world's largest gummy bear is something they will not want to snuggle. Weighing in at about five pounds and over 10 inches tall, this gummy bear packs a serious roar. The gummy bear comes in a variety of flavors.

Gift Certificates

It is not always easy to figure out what a teenager wants, and no one wants to give a lame gift. For a gift idea that is sure to please, go with a gift certificate and allow her to pick the perfect gift on her own. Options include a gift certificate to her favorite store or a mall gift certificate that is valid at any store in the mall. To open the doors to shopping at almost any location, including online, a prepaid credit card provides the most flexible shopping options.

Create A Custom Jersey

Start with a plain jersey, then customize it to your specifications.

The sports jersey is one of the most important purchases a sports fan can make. While wearing a team jersey makes a real statement when attending any major sporting event, the cost of jerseys has gone up so much that many fans simply can't afford to purchase one. And with alternate jerseys coming out all the time, the decision on which one to buy can be perplexing. For these people, constructing a custom-made jersey may be the way to go. It is affordable, easy to do, and adds a level of personal touch to the process.

Instructions

1. Buy a sports jersey. This can be done at any sports apparel store or department store. Although these stores market sports jerseys authenticated by one of the major professional sports--complete with team logos, players' names and jersey numbers--most also carry an array of blank jerseys. The jersey you purchase ultimately will decide how customizable you want it to be. If you would like one with the logo of your favorite team, you likely will end up spending more than if you went with a plain one. If you are looking for bargains, check out a Goodwill, Salvation Army or similar discount clothing store. These outlets sometimes sell "blank" sports jerseys that have been donated.

2. Find and purchase a chest logo (if necessary) and lettering. This can be a little trickier than tracking down the actual plain jersey, since most stores that supply lettering/logos want to attach the items to the jersey themselves. This is an option, although it will be more expensive and time-consuming: the jersey will be sent away, then wait for the work to be done and the jersey to eventually be shipped back to you. Some providers make their lettering, large numbers and logos available to the public for do-it-yourself decoration. If you are looking to craft a custom-made jersey, this might be worth considering.

3. Attach the lettering and jersey logo. The jersey accessories generally come in two forms: the kind you stitch on, and the kind that can be applied with heat. Although it usually is not a big deal how you apply the front crest, it would probably be better to opt for the iron-on version, unless you're an expert in sewing or know someone who is. Most high-quality lettering and numbering comes with Heat Seal technology, which enables the product to adhere to the jersey with the help of an iron. This technology is widely used for sports jerseys and other apparel.

Clean Your Paintball Gun

Proper maintenance is essential to the life, durability and accuracy of paintball guns. Paintball guns, also called paintball markers, need to be cleaned and lubricated regularly. Failure to do so can result in jams, broken paintballs and the early retirement of the gun. Guns should be cleaned immediately after becoming soiled in a particularly tough match. If only a few shots are fired, the gun can be cleaned after a few matches. Every month, the gun needs to be stripped down, cleaned thoroughly and lubricated. The gun should always be checked for adequate lubrication before each match.

Instructions

1. Locate the manual, turn to the schematics and study the assembly diagram for your gun. Disconnect the air supply to the gun, and disassemble the gun according to the schematics. Place the disassembled pieces off to the side in an organized manner. You will need to quickly locate these parts later.

2. Clean the inside of the barrel using the squeegee. Pull the squeegee slowly through the barrel to clean out any leftover paint. Pass the squeegee through the barrel a second time to remove any remaining debris.

3. Wipe down the outside of the barrel using a towel dampened with warm water. Clean the inside of the barrel with the towel as well. Dry thoroughly. Set the barrel to the side.

4. Clean the hammer and bolt using a paper towel and warm water. Allow to dry completely. Inspect the O-rings, and replace any broken or worn rings.

5. Clean the small parts of your gun with a cotton swab soaked in warm water. Clean all of the small parts thoroughly and allow them to dry completely. For stubborn dirt, use a toothbrush or small cleaning brush.

6. Clean the handle using a firm-bristled toothbrush. Pay special attention to the grooves on the grip. Scrub the handle until all of the paint has been removed.

7. Lubricate the gun with an approved lubricant. Lubricate all internal parts including the O-rings. To lubricate the O-rings, spread a thin layer of oil over them using your finger or cotton swab.

8. Double-check all of the parts to ensure they are clean and lubricated. Reassemble the gun according to the schematics.

Design Your Own Celtic Logo

One of the most famous types of Celtic artwork is the Celtic cross.

Celtic designs often feature stylized knot work and abstract complexity. Some examples of Celtic artwork may also include stylized animals or "zoomorphs." Using Celtic designs in modern logos can send a powerful message about the maker. Choosing the right design for your logo can constitute a challenge. You may wish to research the symbolism behind the aspects you want to include in your logo.

Instructions

1. Determine what you wish to convey with with your logo. A logo meant to convey warmth and homeliness will look very different than a logo mean to convey power and ferocity.

2. Research symbols in books or on the Internet that help to convey the feeling you wish to get across. For example, in Celtic lore a bull suggests strength of will and virility, whereas a dolphin symbolizes intelligence and good luck. In Celtic lore animals, plants and symbols all hold their own meanings, which those who know what to look for will spot with your design.

3. Gather the symbols you wish to incorporate, then look for images of these ideas to use as a reference point. Note that one should not copy another artist's work (unless it's a guide or tutorial specifically meant for that purpose), but instead use it for inspiration or ideas. Image searches built into popular search engines such a Yahoo and Google can be good for this purpose.

4. Sketch out a basic idea of what you're looking for using unlined paper and a pencil. Doing so enables you to erase mistakes. Do several sketches; it allows you to keep ideas you're not sure on, while expanding on them in later examples.

5. Choose your favorite sketch. It may be helpful to get an outsider's perspective, especially if you're going to use this logo to market yourself. Getting multiple opinions can help the artist know what image is best received. Remember however, that the choice ultimately remains yours and that your logo represents you and no one else.

6. Ink your design by going over the pencil lines with a quality black ink pen. Erase any leftover pencil lines. If you wish to color your logo, make several copies of it first; this will allow you to color it multiple times and choose your favorite one. Once you have done this, you have a finished logo that you can use in whichever way you wish.

Thermal Imaging Tools

Thermal imaging technology allows camera function in complete darkness.

Thermal imaging tools and devices are designed to aid vision and provide camera function in extreme temperature conditions or darkness. There are two main types of thermal imaging tools: Uncooled and cryogenically cooled systems. Uncooled devices are now the most commonly used and incorporate infra-red technology to operate at room temperature, whereas cryogenically cooled devices are cooled internally to zero Centigrade to help provide increased sensitivity and image resolution. Each provide their own benefits in the applications of night vision and infra-red technology.

Cryogenically Cooled Thermal Imaging Tools

Cryogenically cooled thermal imaging tools are more complex in design than uncooled devices, and also more expensive to manufacture and operate. They are generally enclosed in sealed cases and cryogenically cooled to approximately zero Centigrade. The share many design traits with standard image detection tools, but absorb infrared energy that triggers the tools electrical properties. As these devices are cooled to a level that is often lower than the temperature of the objects they are capturing, they operate with increased sensitivity and resolution of display. These devices are typically heavy-weight, cumbersome and time consuming to operate, making them most suited to an immobile application or individual and non-commercial use.

Uncooled Thermal Imaging Tools

Uncooled thermal imaging tools are more affordable and suited for widespread commercial and military utilization.

The technology incorporated in uncooled thermal imaging tools has advanced in recent years, and emerged as an affordable and easy to operate alternative to cryogenically cooled devices. These tools do not require cooling prior to operation, and in fact can operate at room temperature. The absence of a cooling system makes these models more light-weight, portable and energy efficient. They work by absorbing infrared radiation from scenes of darkness that effect changes in their electrical detector properties. A contrast is then performed with baseline values to produce the thermal image. These tools are not as defined or sensitive as cryogenically cooled devices, but they provide an affordable technology for wide commercial and increasing military utilization.

US Army's Thermal Weapon Sight II

An example of the application of uncooled technology in a military scenario is the US Army's Thermal Weapon Sight II. The American government has invested an estimated $22 million over the last few years to produce this application for the Marine Corps, improving threat detection and safety at an economically viable cost. The light model Thermal Weapon Sight II uses the technology of uncooled detectors, enabling it to combine thermal imaging properties with a more lightweight and easy to operate weapon. Medium and heavy uncooled Thermal Weapon Sight products have also been designed to mount an array of specialized weapons and equipment, and the technology is being developed to suit other similar military applications.

Children'S Outside Games & Equipment

There are many great games that children can play outside. Some require more equipment than others to make them enjoyable, but the main objective is having fun outside. The list below includes several outdoor games that are enjoyable for all participants and are a great way to ensure everyone is included in the outdoor activities.

T-Ball

T-Ball is a great outdoor game for children. It's very similar to a baseball game but T-ball is perfectly suited for the skill level of younger children. Instead of a pitcher, a baseball sits atop a tee and children swing at the baseball with all their might. This is a great game because it allows many kids to participate all at the same time. There are some essential items that you must have to play T-Ball. Those essential items are: a bat, baseball, helmet, T-ball tee, and a baseball glove. Any equipment beyond the essentials is optional, but extras like team jerseys, baseball cleats and bases can add even more fun to the game.

Flag Football

Flag football is the perfect alternative to a real game of football. flag football requires less equipment than traditional American football and is a great way to engage children in a fun team sport without the risk of serious injury. During a game of flag football the only thing being grabbed and thrown to the ground are the flags attached to the participants' waist. Each team can include as many players as they'd like. Flag football sets are available at retailers like Toys 'R Us and, in most cases, the sets include all the necessary equipment for the game: a football and belts with Velcro flags attached.

(See reference 1) and (See reference 2)

Capture The Flag

Depending on the age of the children participating in the game, the rules of capture the flag may change a bit, but the general idea of this two-team game remains the same. The object is to make it into the opposing team's territory and capture their flag. It's not so easy because if you are tagged by an opposing team member while on their side of the field you can be temporarily suspended from the game. The wonderful thing about this game is any number of children can play, and the only equipment needed is space to run and a place to hide a flag. Virtually any item can serve as the flag. For more information about capture the flag visit Kidz World at http://www.kidzworld.com/article/4670-your-guide-to-capture-the-flag.

(If page won't load, go to Kidzworld.com, then search for "capture" and "flag").

Freeze Tag

Children love to play tag outdoors. A fun variation of traditional tag is 'freeze tag'. This game doesn't require any equipment, just plenty of room to run outside. The basic rule of freeze tag is to avoid being touched or "tagged" by the person who's "it". If you are "tagged" then you must freeze in place as soon as you are touched and you can not move again until one of the other participants in the game touches you to "unfreeze" you. Freeze tag is a great way for children to get some exercise and play together.

Bb Gun & Pellet Gun Differences

BB guns and pellet guns are similar in function, but different in detail.

For many kids, a BB or pellet gun is very exciting and fun. Both are types of high-pressure air rifles or pistols. Most states in the US allow people to own BB or pellet guns without a license or background check. Though the weapons are commonly grouped together in the same common category, BB guns and pellet guns feature several distinct differences.

Ammunition

The major difference between a BB gun and a pellet gun is the type of ammunition used. BB guns use spherical ammunition with a diameter of around 0.177 inches. This ammunition is usually made of steel, and coated with either zinc or copper. BB guns gain their name because the ammunition is called a "BB."

Pellets vary in shape and size and are typically larger than BBs. Pellets are non-spherical and come in either 0.177- or .22-inch sizes. Both 0.20- and 0.25-inch pellets are available, but they are not as common as the former two sizes. A pellet is usually designed with a hollow bottom-half; the tips are hollow, pointed, flat or round. It is typically made of tin, although some manufacturers produce hybrids with a plastic tip.

Barrel

BB guns are typically used in close-range practice; most BB guns use a smooth-bore barrel. Smooth-bore barrels release ammo without spinning it. This prevents the gyroscopic effect that maintains a bullet's trajectory, making shooting more accurate.

Pellet guns come standard with rifled barrels, and have better accuracy than BB guns. Rifled barrels spin the bullet as it's released from the barrel, creating a gyroscopic effect. Pellet guns are preferred over BB guns when hunting small game or pests.

Price

Pellet guns are typically more expensive than BB guns. The latter might cost as little as $25, as of 2011. Pellet guns normally range from $100 to $200 in 2011 prices. Cost is dependent on the type of gun you want and the accessories purchased. Guns prices also vary depending upon the sophistication of the design. BB or pellet guns powered by CO2 cartridges often go for several hundred dollars.

Safety Concerns

Both types of air guns can harm people if they are not handled properly. Pellets can penetrate the skin, and BBs can easily ricochet. Wear protective glasses when using an air rifle or pistol. Check local laws and regulations when buying or shooting these guns. Some states require air-gun users to be at least 18 years old. Municipal or county ordinances might also come into play.

Fix Paintball Guns

Fix your paintball gun and get back in the game today!

Paintball guns are complicated pieces of equipment with numerous moving parts, and a variety of areas at which failure could take place. However, there are a series of simple steps that will fix all but the worst of your paintball gun problems. This article teaches novice gunsmiths fix virtually all all paintball gun problems in a few hours, using simple hand tools.

Instructions

1. Disassemble your paintball marker per the instructions from the manufacturer. There are usually only two to four screws that need to be taken out to accomplish this. Pull the inner workings of the gun from the chamber.

2. Examine the bolt and gun internals for signs of wear, nicks or scratches. Wipe down the internals thoroughly with a cloth dampened with gun oil. If you observe any wear or scratches, you may need to replace the internal components or seek help from a professional paintball shop.

3. Replace all of the O-rings from your gun internals. Also replace the O-ring on your CO2 tank and gun barrel. The majority of paintball gun problems arise from a gas leak somewhere in the system, and O-rings are your first defense against a leak. Clean your gun barrel and the marker chamber thoroughly with a rag dampened with oil.

4. Replace all of the springs inside of your gun. The springs determine your gun's velocity, so if you have noticed a drop in downrange velocity or distance this could help fix that problem as well.

5. Reassemble the gun by reversing the disassembly steps, and test-fire it a few times.

6. Check all lines and guages on your paintball system and make sure you tank is fully charged. Your gun will now perform like its brand new!

Clean Ported Shotgun Barrels

Shotguns with ported barrels reduce barrel jump.

Porting on a shotgun refers to a series of holes or slots that are cut into the tip of the barrel. These holes allow gases to escape from the end of the barrel. The force of the escaping gases push the barrel downward, to help compensate for recoil. Having a shotgun ported can increase accuracy in follow-up shots by limiting the amount of "jump" that each shot produces. Cleaning a ported shotgun is a straightforward process that requires only a few tools to do correctly.

Instructions

1. Unload the shotgun and remove any shells from the magazine tube.

2. Thread a clean shotgun cleaning patch through the tip of the cleaning rod so that half of the patch sticks out from either side.

3. Run the patch down the barrel of the shotgun several times. This will remove excess dirt or debris from the walls of the barrel.

4. Thread a new patch through the tip of the cleaning rod and apply several drops of gun oil to the patch. Do not soak the entire patch in oil.

5. Run the oiled patch down the barrel several times, leaving a thin layer of oil on the inside of the barrel. Discard the patch after several swipes down the barrel.

6. Thread another dry patch through the cleaning rod, and run it down the barrel several times to remove excess oil.

7. Apply several drops of oil to another patch and rub it vigorously over the top of the ports on the end of the barrel. If the patch becomes soiled quickly, repeat with a second patch.

8. Apply a drop of oil to the end of a cotton swab, and twist the swab into each hole in the porting to remove stuck-on powder or dirt.

9. Rub a clean, dry patch over the outside of the porting to remove excess oil.

Clean Guns

Regular cleaning of any gun after firing is critical. The residue remaining in the barrel will cause a great deal of damage to the grooving if not removed. Hand and finger prints, left uncleaned, will eventually lead to rust and pitting on the exterior of the weapon.

Instructions

1. MAKE SURE THE WEAPON IS UNLOADED. You must check and double check to make sure that there is not a round in the chamber or clip. You should also remove all ammunition from the area as a safety precaution to avoid accidental loading by another person.

2. Take a cleaning rod and attach a brass bore scrubber to the tip. Run the scrubber through the barrel several times to sufficiently loosen debris such as powder residue.

3. Attach a patch holder to the cleaning rod and insert a cleaning patch. A patch is a square shaped piece of cloth which may either be purchased or made.

4. Dip the patch into a cleaning solvent such as Hopps Number 9 and run the patch through the barrel several times. Remove the saturated and dirty patch and replace with a clean one. Repeat the process until the patch is removed with no residue.

5. Using a hard bristle scrub brush which is similar to a tooth brush, scrub the chamber and receiver paying special attention to all of the intricate nooks and crannies.

6. Using an aerosol propelled solvent or another patch, clean the receiver area and soak and dissolve any stubborn areas of residue buildup. Using a large patch or cloth, dry the chamber and receiver to remove excess solvent.

7. Use a high quality lubricant on all moving internal parts and apply to the barrel using another clean patch. This is an important step as lubricants will have been removed by the solvent. The lubricant will ensure both the smooth operation of your firearm as well as protect it during storage. Do not use heavy oils or excessive buildup may cause fouling and potential misfires. There are many traditional as well as synthetic lubricants on the market. Some even prefer to use Mobile One synthetic oil in a very light coat.

8. Finally, using a dry and clean cloth, coat the exterior of the firearm lightly with oil. Take care to wipe away all finger prints prior to storage. Failing to do so may result in later removing a beautiful firearm only to find rusted or even pitted finger prints.

Anodize & Polish Aluminum

Motorcycle parts, if made of aluminum, can be anodized.

Anodizing, the chemical process of coloring aluminum, allows you to put a custom finish on almost any aluminum object. The aluminum object that you wish to anodize needs to be clean and able to fit in a metal pot. Anodizing at home is substantially cheaper than having a professional shop do it for you. It is a common way to add color to paintball guns, aluminum decorations, model cars and aluminum car parts. Once you anodize a piece of aluminum, polishing it will make it look perfect.

Instructions

Applying Current

1. Cut the aluminum wire to about 4 feet in length and strip the last 8 inches of the rubber casing off. Form a loop with the stripped wire and cover it with aluminum foil to create a paddle shape. Place this in the bottom of the rubber bucket.

2. Attach the other end of the aluminum wire to the negative terminal of the battery charger.

3. Put on your goggles and rubber gloves. Sulfuric acid can burn and blind you if you come in contact with it. Also, be careful to prevent electrical shock since the next few steps will deal with electricity. Never touch any exposed wires while the battery charger is on.

4. Pour two parts sulfuric acid to one part water in the bucket. Create enough solution to fully submerge whatever part that you wish to anodize.

5. Connect the positive lead from the battery charger to the aluminum object you wish to anodize using a clamp. Place it in the acid solution and ensure that it is fully covered by the acid. Do not allow the positive and negative leads to touch.

6. Turn on the battery charger and allow the current to flow through the acid solution and aluminum part. The aluminum will start to form bubbles, and after 10-15 minutes it will stop. Turn off the battery charger and remove the aluminum piece from the bucket to wash with cold water.

Coloring Aluminum

7. Add a mixture of fabric dye and water to the cake pan. The fabric dye bottle will have directions outlining an appropriate mixture.

8. Place the aluminum object in the cake pan ensuring that it is completely covered by the fabric dye solution. Turn on the stove to a low setting and place the pan on the burner. Move the aluminum piece around every few minutes to ensure even coloring. Once the piece is slightly darker than what you wish the finished product to be, remove it from the cake pan.

9. Put the aluminum piece in a pot of boiling water to seal the anodized surface. This step will lighten the aluminum slightly, bringing it to the intended color and darkness. Remove from the boiling water and allow to cool down. Wash the object thoroughly with soap and water.

Polishing the Aluminum

10. Put the aluminum polish on a soft towel. A dime-size amount will suffice.

11. Rub the polish into the surface of the aluminum in circular motions.

12. Wipe away the polish from the object with a clean towel. This will remove excess polish and make your aluminum object shine.

Keep Score In Paintball

The game of paintball is a rapidly growing extreme sport that's played worldwide, but to those not familiar with the activity, the rules can be confusing--especially the scoring system. The following steps will give you a little insight to the sport as well as score a match between two teams.

Instructions

1. In world and regional tournament playh, the winning team of a paintball match needs 100 points to win--that's the basics.

2. Keep time of the game--a match is usually three to seven minutes long, usually one minute for each player on a team.

3. Keep track of which team reaches the center or opposing team's flag first. Capturing the flag earns a team 50 points.

4. Watch for eliminations, each player hit by a paintball counts as seven, four, three or two points for the other team, depending on if you're playing 3, 5, 7 or 10 people per side, respectively.

5. If no one captured the flag, add up the number of live players on each team at the end of the game and tally up three to one point for each live player, again, depending on how many players per team.

6. If a team hangs their flag in the opposing team's base, they've just earned themselves a whopping 50 points. This also ends the game immediately. If the time is up before the flag is hung, neither team gets these points.

Clean A Vector V53 Gun

Vector's V-53 rifle is designed for quick and easy cleaning.

Every round fired in a V-53 builds up carbon fouling in the barrel and internal mechanism. Moisture collects inside and outside the weapon, which causes rust. However, designers made the rifle quick and easy to clean. It comes apart into barreled-action, pistol grip, and butt-stock subassemblies without tools. Vector based the V-53 on gun-maker Heckler and Koch's HK-53 rifle, which is a .223-caliber version of its famous MP-5 sub-machine gun.

Instructions

Disassembly

1. Remove the V-53's ammunition magazine by pushing forward on the magazine release level located in front of the trigger guard. Pull magazine out of rifle. Grasp cocking handle with the left hand and pull it back to retract the bolt. If the rifle was loaded, this will eject a cartridge from the chamber. Rotate cocking handle into slot cut into the gun's upper receiver to lock bolt open. Look into the open chamber to make sure it is empty. Rotate cocking handle out of slot and allow bolt to spring forward.

2. Locate locking pin connecting buttstock to receiver, behind pistol grip. Push pin free of receiver. It should come free with finger pressure. If not, carefully push with screwdriver or other tool. Pull buttstock straight backwards until it is free of the gun.

3. Rotate pistol grip assembly down and away from receiver until it is also free.

4. Pull cocking handle slowly to the rear. Recoil spring, spring guide, and bolt will slide out the back of the receiver. Pull free. Rotate bolt 90 degrees in bolt assembly and pull it free.

5. Push out the handguard-locking pin, located under the front sight. Pull handguard down and free.

Cleaning

6. Attach jag to the tip of the cleaning rod. Soak a cloth patch with solvent and push through barrel using the cleaning rod from the rear of the receiver. Wait about 10 minutes to allow solvent to dissolve barrel fouling. Attach .223 size bronze brush to end of cleaning rod. Carefully brush bore 2-3 times. Reattach jag. Push clean patches through barrel from back to front until patches come out clean. Lightly coat a patch with gun oil and push through barrel from the rear.

7. Wipe or spray powder solvent onto bolt and bolt assembly. Wait about 10 minutes for powder residue to dissolve. Brush clean. Wipe away dissolved powder and solvent with clean rags. Wipe clean spring and spring guide.

8. Wet cloth with solvent and wipe receiver's exterior metal surfaces until clean of powder residue. Wipe inside receiver. Brush away fouling and wipe with clean cloth. Wipe pistol group inside and out. When clean, wipe all surfaces inside and out with lightly oiled cloth.

9. Wipe buttstock and handguard with cloth lightly coated in solvent. Wipe clean front and rear sights, pistol grip, trigger and trigger guard. Brush solvent into receiver's exterior grooves and recesses. Wipe away solvent with clean cloth. Wipe with lightly oiled cloth.

Reassembly

10. Rotate bolt back into bolt assembly. Slide spring and spring guide back into bolt assembly. Slide into receiver.

11. Rotate pistol grip assembly up into receiver. Push butt stock into receiver. Replace locking pin.

12. Reattach hand guard. Replace locking pin.

13. Check functioning by pulling cocking handle to rear and releasing it. Pull and hold trigger. Hammer should fall with a snap. Keep trigger back while pulling cocking handle to rear and release. Release trigger. Hammer should not fall. Pull trigger. Hammer should fall.

Make A Spring Paintball Gun

A paintball gun propels a projectile from inside of a tube using some form of propellant. You can make a spring-powered paintball gun from a few supplies found around the home. You will also need a few common tools and a spring purchased from a hardware store or hobby shop. Your spring-powered paintball gun will require being reloaded after each shot, but otherwise will fire a paintball in a manner similar to any model that is commercially made.

Instructions

1. Place a sheet of newspaper on a table to protect the surface. Stand the paper towel tube on the newspaper

2. Measure up two inches from the bottom of the paper towel tube. Cut a hole through the sides of the paper towel tube at the two inch mark with the blade of the utility knife.

3. Measure up four inches from the hole that was just cut. Repeat the procedure to cut a hole through the sides of the paper towel tube at the four inch mark.

4. Stand the spring on the newspaper. Lift the paper towel tube. Place the paper towel tube over the spring. Place a nail through the sides of the paper towel tube at the bottom to engage the spring that is inside. Bend the point of the nail with the pliers so it won’t go back into the hole.

5. Place a paintball into the top of the paper towel tube. Insert an end of the wooden dowel into the top of the paper towel tube.

6. Push the paintball down inside of the tube with the end of the wooden dowel. Insert a nail into the holes in the paper towel tube to keep the paintball inside of the tube. Remove the wooden dowel.

7. Go outside in your backyard. Aim your spring-powered paintball gun at a tree or rock. Remove the nail from the holes farthest from you to fire the paintball at the tree or rock.

Extreme Birthday Party Ideas For 10 Year Olds

Give kids a party to remember by making it extreme.

Celebrate your child's 10th birthday in style with an extreme birthday party. It is hard but not impossible to select a theme that has not already been used. Twist the challenges used on reality television to fit a 10-year-old's party, and you will have activities. Remember, make it big, go beyond the norm, and you will be on your way to the best extreme birthday party ever.

Survivor

Wrap invitations around coconuts and deliver to guests. Form teams by handing guests green or yellow bandannas as they arrive. Have kids compete in individual and team challenges, such as which team can put together their tent the fastest. Tug-of-war, word search, trivia questions, and an obstacle courses involving a kiddie pool filled with chocolate pudding are other fun options. Serve pineapple boats filled with cottage cheese, skewers of grilled chicken, popcorn, root beer floats, and bottles of water. Then send your guests home with t-shirts for having survived your son's birthday party.

Girls' Slumber Party

Write invitations on pale green ribbons and tie around bottles of nail polish. When they arrive, divide the girls into groups of three and give each a different list of items to find both in and around your house. The items should be gift-sized bottles of lotion, shampoo, soap, nail polish, and other beauty products. After all the items have been found, have everyone meet in the room where the girls will be sleeping. Offer spa treatments---manicures, pedicures, and facials. Set up a massage station at which the girls can take turns sitting in the massage chair. Finish the night with pizza, cupcakes, nachos, soda, and candy while watching "The Goonies," "Matilda," or "The Witches" on DVD.

Fear Factor

They wanted extreme and that is exactly what they'll get when they receive their invitation wrapped around a large, squeezable insect. Begin the party soon after guests arrive with scary games and contests. Fill bowls with ice water and peeled grapes. Blindfold participants and time them as they use their feet to remove the "eyeballs" from the bowl and put them on a plate. Or trick the kids into thinking they ate cat food by thoroughly cleaning a couple of empty cans of cat food. Refill the cans with mushed up Spam and put the lids back on. Set out plates and have the boys watch you open and remove the "cat food" from the can before they eat it. Put grasshoppers into a covered bucket containing a number, which corresponds to a prize, and have the kidsd take turns reaching in to draw a number. Serve hot wings, mac-n-cheese, corn on the cob, and frozen fruit drink cubes in lemonade.

Top Model

Warning: Before proceeding with this idea, talk to a local nursing home and the girls' parents. Six girls compete for the title of top model and the sash that proclaims her the winner by completing community service options at a local nursing home. The girls will read to guests, act out a scene from their favorite movie while being photographed, and strut their stuff in their best dress and shoes. The winner is selected by the nursing home residents. After the models leave the nursing home, give them all tote bags with gel pens, stationary, a hair brush and comb, throw blanket, lotion, cell phone calculator, fruit chews, chocolate bar, mini bag of microwave popcorn, and a copy of "The Daring Book for Girls" by Andrea J. Buchanan and Miriam Peskowitz. Print out their pictures before they leave and insert into a photo album labeled "The Next Top Model."

Triathlon

Boys and girls can participate in a triathlon that includes swimming, running, and bike riding. Recruit several adults to care for the guests as they begin by swimming the length of your pool before running a block to where their bikes are waiting for them to circle the block and return to the pool area. Set out bottles of sport drinks, granola bars, and foot-long hot dogs with toppings so the kids can eat whenever they like. Give participants medals, stop watches, and sidewalk chalk while thanking them for attending the party.

Find Affordable Maternity Clothes

Thirty years ago, maternity clothes meant large dresses and shirts that no one but a pregnant woman or a small child would even think about wearing. Happily, today's maternity clothes are often stylish and cute enough to pass for real clothes. Unfortunately, they also tend to be more expensive than real clothes.

Instructions

Before You Shop

1. Realize that you are going to be many different sizes before you give birth. Sure, they tell you to just buy your regular size at the maternity store. That works for some people. But some of us get very big while pregnant. Plan to get at least two sizes of pants. And don't turn down any shirts that look more like tents--you might need one for the last few weeks.

2. Write a list of what you will need to survive the pregnancy. If your baby is due in July, you're not going to need a coat, but you may want a bathing suit. If your baby is due in January, you might want a coat, but you probably don't need too many sweaters because by that point you will be hot.

3. Email and/or call your friends who have had children. Ask them if they have any maternity clothes you can have or borrow. As you collect the free items, cross them off of your list.

4. Look in the closets of people who are taller and/or rounder than you are and see if they have anything you can borrow. I've spent a lot of my current pregnancy in t-shirts from my husband and father.

Shopping

5. Hunt for sales online. Target and Destination Maternity have much better online deals than they do in stores. You can also compare prices at Shopzilla.

6. Go to Goodwill or another thrift store. They may not have specific maternity clothes, but they may have some large-sized clothes that will work.

7. Look on Craigslist.com. Some women sell their old maternity clothes in the "baby and kids" section, some in the clothing section.

8. Extend the life of your regular pants and skirts by buying a Bella Band.

9. Shop early in your pregnancy because the season of clothes you'll need at the end should be on the clearance racks during your first trimester.

Make A Ghillie Suit With Burlap

A Guillie Suit Allows You to Effectively Blend Into Your Environment

Ghillie suits have been used for centuries by snipers and hunters to conceal their movements so that they could get closer to their prey. The concept of the Ghillie suit dates back to when the Native Americans roamed the plains and forests of North America. They would disguise themselves in surrounding vegetation so that they could sneak close to their prey for a clean shot. Hunters and paintball players can build their own Ghillie suits with a bit of fish netting and some burlap. This article teaches you make a Ghillie suit at home in just a few hours of free time.

Instructions

1. Begin by sliding the netting over your head and deciding where you want the hood to be cut. The Ghillie suit slides over your existing clothes, and you'll have a hole in the middle of the suit for your head to fit through, like a poncho. Use the scissors to cut a slit in the netting large enough for your head.

2. Lay the netting out in a large open area and begin cutting the burlap into 1-by-3-inch strips. Cut the entire section of burlap into these strips. This is the most time-consuming part of the process.

3. Tie the burlap strips in an overhand knot in every other hole of the netting in horizontal rows, 2 inches apart from each other. Do this to the entire section of netting, and then use the comb to fray the tied strips to give the suit that characteristic furry look.

Adjust Your Chronograph In Paintball

Prep your paintball gun to the desired specs before the next game.

Paintball guns require fine tuning to get the proper psi release on the ball. When the pressure setting is too high, velocity is lost as there is too much pressure on the valve, resulting in the ball moving slower with an unequal amount of pressure in the chamber. To get the paintball gun at its peak performance, use a chronograph, which is commonly found at paintball centers, to tune the gun to peak pressure settings and velocity. This process takes time, but is relatively simple.

Instructions

1. Position the chronograph so it faces up, about halfway between you and a target 25 yards away. Many paintball centers have shooting galleries with chronographs set up and ready to go.

2. Load the paintball gun with a full clip of ammunition. Fire over the chronograph at the target to get a baseline reading of the velocity of the paintball gun.

3. Fire five more shots, adjusting the psi by 25 psi each time. Read the chronograph data after each shot to see if it is increasing or decreasing. Continue to increase the psi if the chronograph velocity is reading a constant climb.

4. Decrease the psi by 25 psi when the chronograph shows a decrease in velocity, indicating the gun has too much pressure. Take another shot and read the data on the chronograph. If it is still slower than the initial reading, decrease another 25 psi. When the velocity does not drop, the paintball gun is tuned to the proper psi for best velocity.

Pc Paintball Games

PC Paintball Games

A paintball fanatic stuck indoors? Have no fear, there are plenty of ways to get a fix in front of the PC. A sport that, in real life, bears a strong resemblance to many first-person shooters, paintball lends itself well to the gaming world. Unfortunately, the number of major modern paintball games for the computer is relatively small with only a few this decade. Even so, there are a few options for the avid paintball and gaming enthusiast.

"Splat Renegade Paintball"

Produced by Take-Two Interactive, which collaborated on the Grand Theft Auto series, "Splat Renegade Paintball" offers gamers a chance to experience paintball on 13 different maps in up to 28 different single-player matches. The game also lets players connect to the Internet or a local area network to match wits with other live players around the world. Users can collect power-ups and place a number of obstacles around the course to make things more interesting.

"Lemmings Paintball"

A paintball-esque take on the old school Lemmings series, "Lemmings Paintball" (1996) pits muliticolored, mindless fuzzballs against each other in an all-out paint war. More of a puzzle game than a shooter, users must navigate their lemmings through over 100 levels rigged with traps and other obstacles with the goal of capturing the other team's flag.

Extreme Paintbrawl series

One of the most prolific paintball series, Extreme Paintbrawl has four installments of games geared toward fans of the sport. The most recent game, "Extreme Paintbrawl 4", was released in 2002 and is billed by its creators as a simulation with 12 "high-detail" levels for players to enjoy.

"Ultimate Paintball Challenge"

Released in 2000, "Ultimate Paintball Challenge" is a first-person paintball shooter that puts players in the role of captain of their own paintball team. Players can choose their team members, outfit them with gear and control their movements on the field.

Clean A Gun

After using a firearm for a period of time, you must return the unit to a clean, safe working order. Employing a few common sense techniques will restore it to a pristine state. Keeping a close eye on the build-up of deposits in the barrel and firing chamber will ensure they're removed before an accident happens. Follow these steps to clean a gun.

Instructions

1. Purchase a quality gun cleaning kit. Ask the sales person for a cleaning kit that best suits the weapon being cleaned. Rifle cleaning kits are similar to a pistol cleaning kit, yet the barrel cleaning rods differ.

2. Ensure that the weapon magazine is unloaded, and there is no round in the firing chamber. Failure to follow this simple first step could result in the accidental firing of the weapon and cause a very dangerous result.

3. Remove all ammunition from the area where the gun will be cleaned. Get rid of any shells or cartridges and place them in a secure location.

4. Prepare a well-lighted, clean and spacious work area. Keeping the table top clear of obstructions yields the best results.

5. Wipe down the weapon with a silicon cloth to remove any contaminants. Silicon cloths also prevent rust prints and the build-up of oils.

6. Clean the barrel with an appropriate gauge rod and cloth wrapped tip. There are numerous commercial barrel cleaners on the market that provide good results.

7. Rub a small amount of gun oil on a cloth and apply a thin layer to the weapon.

8. Inspect the barrel and bore for any fouling or deposits that may not have come loose during cleaning.

Install A Jhook Liner

A J-hook liner is installed on above-ground pools. Any type of liner will improve the appearance of your pool, protect the pool, prevent leaks, make swimming more comfortable and increase the life of the pool in the process. Installing J-hook liner or any other type of pool liner can be an intimidating task. While it may take a while and has a lot of steps involved, it is a job a skilled homeowner can tackle in a day. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Insert a hose in the pool and completely drain the pool of all water. Run the water somewhere safe so it is not flooding an important part of the yard or running over something that cannot withstand that much water.

2. Cut holes with a utility knife in the bottom of the pool line to allow the rest of the water to drain to the ground. Remove the old pool liner by cutting it along the top with a utility knife. Cut it in sections to remove it easier and toss it aside.

3. Inspect the wall of the pool along the outside to look for any rust spots. Check to see that there are no weeds or roots along the outside and remove them if necessary. Level out the base of the pool on the outside by filling any holes with bags of sand.

4. Open up the new pool liner and lay it out on a grassy area. Set the new liner into the pool and allow it to overhang around the sides. Attach it on the sides using the old coping strips already in place. Center it up so it is even all the way around. Climb into the pool and begin to smooth out the liner to get rid of the wrinkles.

5. Slide a shop vac hose in between the liner and the pool. Duct tape the opening closed and turn the vac on to begin sucking the air out and pulling the liner toward the pool walls. Put a hose in the pool and turn it on to begin filling it up with water. Remove the shop vac once about 12 inches of water are in the pool and continue filling until the pool is full of water.

Build An Assault Mech For Classic Battletech

Assault mechs are titans of the battlefield, god-like in their prowess. It's not possible, some would say, to mess up designing these things--merely throw about armor and weaponry and keep everything that sticks. This is false. There is a finesse to the design, just as with other mechs. Read on to learn build an assault mech for classic Battletech.

Instructions

1. Get an engine capable of moving your mech. Since 80 to 100 tons is difficult to move, you may have to spend a huge chunk of cash on the engine alone. The gyroscope isn't something to skimp on either. Assault mechs are generally targeted for knockdown attacks.

2. Consider special enhancements, especially those that can affect your battle group. The advantage of all of that armor is that no one is taking you down soon, so ECM and ECCM suites are well worth the investment.

3. Add weapons--lots of weapons. Don't forget to have a light, low-heat weapon for emergencies, but focus on the larger fear-generating, ground-shaking weaponry that can make the average infantryman pee himself.

4. Slap some serious armor on the mech. Not only is the assault mech a massive target, but everyone expects it to take damage, so your "friends" aren't as likely to protect you from damage as they might if you were cruising around in a lesser mech.

Remove Paintball Paint From A Carpet

Stepping on a single paintball can leave a noticeable carpet stain.

Paintballs are spherical gelatin capsules filled with a water-soluble dye. The components in the dye are designed to be easily washed out of clothing with standard detergent and a home washing machine. Paintballs that burst and release their colored contents into carpet can be a little more difficult to remove. The sooner the stain is addressed the better chance there is that it can be completely eliminated. Clear a paintball stain from carpet with common household cleaners. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Fill the spray bottle with clean water. Adjust the nozzle to spray a fine mist. Mist the paint-stained areas on the carpet.

2. Press a clean towel into the dampened stains. Fold the towel to a new side each time before blotting a stain. Continue until no color is coming up.

3. Apply laundry stain pretreatment gel directly to the stained carpet. Massage the pretreatment gel deep into the stained carpet pile. Wait for the gel to dry.

4. Spray the pretreated stains with water from the spray bottle. Blot the stains with clean and dry towels. Repeat the spray and blot process until no suds or color are coming out.

5. Apply a few drops of stain fighting laundry detergent to the pretreated carpet stains. Moisten the stains with a few squirts from the water bottle. Swirl the detergent into the stained carpet until it foams.

6. Press a moist sponge into the sudsy carpet to rinse out the soap. Rinse the sponge with cold water. Continue blotting the cleaned carpet until no more suds come out of the sponge while rinsing.

Clean Astro Turf

AstroTurf isn't just for sporting areas, you can install it around your home.

AstroTurf, known generically as artificial grass, looks like grass but is easier to maintain because there is no hassle of maintaining the area with water and a lawn mower. Made from synthetic olefin fiber, AstroTurf is a durable product highly resistant to staining. Cleaning AstroTurf is easy, as long as you take care of major debris that accumulates on the surface. In fact, you may be able to hose off many. While hosing off the area alone keeps the turf looking fresher, you may need to take more drastic cleaning measures, depending upon the problem. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Remove animal droppings with a plastic bag, and hose off to break down any liquid matter. Apply vinegar---a natural disinfectant and odor reducer---directly to the soiled area. Let the vinegar sit for a few minutes and then rinse the area off with water.

2. Remove leaves from your AstroTurf with a blower or broom. Not only does the broom or blower remove the debris, but also it helps the fibers of the turf stand up and look fluffier. Use a vacuum on sections of the turf that are especially flat or crushed.

3. Scrub dingy gray areas, which have likely accumulated oils, with liquid dish detergent and a damp towel or scrub brush. Rinse the area and allow it to dry thoroughly. Use dry-cleaning fluid to remove tough stains such as tanning lotion or motor oils and chewing gum. Follow manufacturer's instructions for application methods and quantities.

4. Vacuum dirt and mud from the AstroTurf before it gets packed down into the fibers. Loose dirt is easier to remove from the carpet than firm fibers.
