CO2 airguns are a popular option for those who enjoy shooting but are limited by space or by the noise produced by a traditional firearm. Used for backyard target shooting, competitive shooting and even small game hunting, CO2 airguns are available in a range of models in both rifle and pistol configurations. Properly loading a CO2 cartridge is an essential part of preparing to shoot an airgun.
Instructions
1. Remove any ammunition clips and open the breech as a safety check to make sure the gun is unloaded.
2. Access the CO2 chamber. The method of access varies based on the manufacturer and gun design. Methods include removing the grip from a handgun, loosening and removing a bottom-mounted sealed screw, or releasing a magazine designed to hold a 12-gram CO2 cartridge.
3. Loosen the small CO2 retaining screw that holds the cartridge in the chamber, if necessary. Turn the screw to the left, or counter-clockwise, so it can be loosened and removed.
4. Install a CO2 cartridge in the air chamber of the gun. Typically, the CO2 cartridge will be loaded so the small, tapered end is up.
5. Tighten the retaining screw, if necessary, and assemble the magazine or handle of the airgun, based on the model.
The end of a military issue iachine gun features a muzzle break.
Installing a muzzle break on a rifle has noticeable advantages. The primary purpose of a muzzle break is to reduce the volume of noise a rifle makes when fired. However, this purpose may not be the biggest advantage of installing a muzzle break. In addition to deadening the noise a rifle makes, a muzzle break also reduces the recoil - or kick - of a rifle by almost 50 percent. For young or small people, this means they can fire a high-powered rifle without having to submit to the standard punch of a rifle with a great deal of power.
Instructions
1. Purchase the muzzle break you feel is appropriate for your rifle. Take your rifle to the gunsmith and pay to have the muzzle threaded with male threads that match the female threads of your muzzle break.
2. Retrieve your rifle, now threaded, from the gunsmith.
3. Wrap the rifle's fore-stock in the towel tightly. Place the towel covered portion of the rifle in the vice and tighten it snugly. Do no over tighten the vice or you risk damaging the fore-stock.
4. Press the butt of the muzzle break - the end with the threads - against the threads of the muzzle. Twist the muzzle break gently clockwise. If the muzzle begins to feed into the muzzle break, continue. If the muzzle break begins to twist and rotate at an angle not parallel the the rifle's muzzle, back the muzzle break off by twisting counterclockwise and begin again. If you force the muzzle threads into the muzzle break threads during this critical first step, you will strip the threads on the muzzle or the break.
5. Continue to twist the muzzle break clockwise onto the muzzle if it is twisting on straight. Once the muzzle break butts up against the last of the muzzle's threads, give the muzzle break a twist with extra torque to secure it on the muzzle. You have successfully installed your muzzle break.

Several Airsoft events are held in Texas and around the world.
Airsoft guns are realistic but non-lethal replicas of real guns. Instead of gunpowder and bullets, they use compressed air to fire round, plastic pellets called BBs. A tactical game using these guns has become popular worldwide since it first began in Japan in the 1980s. The military-style events, known simply as Airsoft events, feature detailed rules and intricate back stories, often based on real military battles. The Texas Airsoft Organization sponsors several events in that state, many of whose themes deal with the war on terrorism.
Urgent Fury 3: Operation Anaconda
The storyline for this event, scheduled for Aug. 1, 2010, at TALON Field in Abilene, Texas, pits the U.S. military and Central Intelligence Agency paramilitary forces against al-Qaeda and Taliban troops in the Shahi-Khot Valley area in Afghanistan. It is not a true reenactment of the real Operation Anaconda. It features two battles with multiple objectives and time-specific game play, and entrants are advised to stay well-hydrated, as the Airsoft event will take place during the heart of summer in Texas.
Operation Just Revenge
This event is slated for September 11-12, 2010, and focuses on the battle for control of the Taliban's southern base in Marjah, Afghanistan. U.S. and NATO forces must stop the Taliban insurgents while also dealing with an Afghani population that, in many cases, has been frightened away from showing any U.S. support. Instead, the people have been conditioned to hate and fear U.S. troops. This Airsoft event will be held at Tactical Paintball, near the town of Harwood, between San Antonio and Houston. The field was voted the top scenarios field in the nation, according to the Texas Airsoft Organization.
Hunt for Bin Laden
This Airsoft event is to be held at Tactical Paintball near Harwood on Nov. 6-7, 2010. According to the Texas Airsoft Organization website, it is up to U.S. and allied forces to stop Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist group from gathering nuclear materials. Bin Laden plans to use the materials to construct a "dirty bomb," which he will set off in the city of Iglowtobad. Players gain extra points for matching Bin Laden's terrorists to their Wanted posters as they are captured.
Reindeer Games 9
This Airsoft event will be held Dec. 4, 2010, at Stinger Field in Jacksboro, northwest of Dallas. There are no details available yet for this event, but Reindeer Games is billed as the longest-running Airsoft event in Texas. Players are required to be at least 17 years of age, and there is a limit of 180 players. Like many Airsoft events, participants may register for an entry fee slightly lower than that paid by players who sign up on the day of the event.
Amateur players often compete on traveling baseball teams.
Baseball remains the national pastime for millions of sports-minded Americans. Similar to the barnstorming teams of years past, traveling baseball teams offer a unique experience for fans and participating players alike. Generally, the formation of a traveling squad begins with the procurement of individual talent. In addition, scheduling duties and sponsorship needs also may dominate the formation of a traveling team, as equipment requirements and transportation costs round out the items needed to form the baseball club.
Instructions
1. Select players. Create the roster by determining the amount of players needed for each position. Conduct open tryouts at a select site or select players participating in leagues or organizations. Select alternates to protect against loss because of injuries or other unexpected events.
2. Create a team identity. Choose a team name, logo and colors. Choose a name for supporter identification while selecting a corresponding logo and color scheme. Choose original team badging or associate the team with well-known franchises by incorporating the name of a known franchise or organization.
3. Purchase equipment. Select new or used equipment to accompany the team on the road. When sporting goods organizations sponsor the team, promote the company by the exclusive use of provided equipment.
4. Choose a sponsor. Solicit team sponsorship by approaching businesses with the opportunity to promote products and services through a purchased sponsorship agreement. Sponsorship revenue covers travel expenses, equipment and registration requirements. In addition, approach sports-related companies, organizations with previous sponsorship activity or sports-minded businessman and entrepreneurs.
5. Raise additional funds. In addition to sponsorship agreements, obtain funding from personal savings, retirement accounts, proceeds from sales or events (i.e. raffles) and team member registration fees.
6. Select supporting personnel. Accept volunteers or hire personnel to handle tasks related to team activities. Select personnel for scheduling and administrative duties, personnel or a service to conduct uniform maintenance and health-care personnel. If needed, select a team manager and assistant coaches to run practices and manage game-day activity.
7. Create a schedule. Choose to participate in tournaments or simply schedule games with other similar travel teams. Negotiate locations and times for the games. Determine ticket allocation and prices if needed. Arrange concessions and the use of facilities with the competition or stadium or venue authority. Establish rescheduling and contact the local media for game coverage and reporting.
8. Arrange transportation. Schedule bus, train or plane transportation to and from venues. Establish a player transportation policy while arranging accommodations.

The J pipe, the lowest portion of pipe shown, keeps sewer gases from rising into your home.
A sink drain is a simple creation. First is a threaded tail piece leaving the bottom of the sink. Next comes an elbow trap -- sometimes referred to as a J-bend, which is actually two pieces that attach either to the sink tail piece or to a short slip joint extension on one end and the outside pipe on the other. Then comes the outside pipe, going to the sewer.
The trap catches and holds objects that drop down your sink, like your wedding ring. It also provides easy access to clogs, which tend to form at the bottom of the J instead of further on in your plumbing. Most importantly, it prevents sewage gases from re-entering the house. Age and use can lead to leaking P-traps (one of three types of J-bends) and clogs. Fortunately, replacing the pipe is fairly simple. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Empty your sink of all water and clear the workspace below the sink, setting contents in an out-of-the-way area. You may need room to maneuver and plumbing is typically in confined areas.
2. Turn off the water if you choose, just to make sure that the faucet is not accidentally turned on while you make repairs. Locate the water shut-off either under the sink (a round knob that you will turn clockwise) or at the main water inlet, such as a water meter.
3. Place a bowl, pail, or other container underneath your drain plumbing to catch excess water during your repair. While the sink may be empty, water will be sitting in the bottom of your J pipe, and you will want to avoid it pouring out over your head and into your cabinet or on your floor.
4. Unscrew the nut that secures the trap to the outside pipe (typically coming out of the wall). This will look like a wider ring made of the same material as your pipe -- typically PVC plastic in newer construction but it may also be metal. You may be able to hand loosen, or you may have to use a tool such as a pipe wrench or large, adjustable pliers. Turn the ring to the left (counterclockwise) to loosen.
5. Remove the nut attaching the trap to the sink drain tailpiece similarly. Unscrew the nut attachment in the middle of the trap, if necessary, to manipulate the trap and get it out of a confined area. Remove the pipe carefully to keep trapped water from going everywhere.
6. Assemble your complete trap before continuing. Use a kit and place the straight and curved sections together to form the trap. Secure with new nuts. Add a transition gasket at the tail (straight section) end if you have a smaller diameter pipe coming from the wall than the pipe diameter of the trap.
7. Make a "dry run" of your new trap installation to make sure everything will fit, before securing it into place. Keep in mind the tail of the trap needs to insert into the wall pipe as far as possible. You may need to cut some trap kits to size with a hand saw if too long. On the other hand, if it is too short, you will need to add a slip joint and nut to seal and secure the slip joint to the trap, at the wall.
8. Secure the trap, adjusting as necessary to install. In some instances, leaving the nut in the middle of the trap somewhat loose may aid in positioning the new trap. Make sure the whole assembly acts as if it wants to stay in place by itself easily before tightening nuts. Any strain on the new trap will lend itself to trap and drain failure. Hand tighten firmly.
9. Test for leaks by running water in the sink several times, allowing it to fill up to create downward pressure on the trap and pipes. Adjust as needed if you note any moisture or leakage at the connections.

Aftermath Airsoft is quickly becoming one of the most popular manufacturers of full auto airsoft guns in the United States. Its version of the Mp5-J, the Lycaon, is a very dependable weapon. However, like all airsoft guns, it isn’t immune to breaking or performance issues.
Instructions
Troubleshooting the Lycaon
1. Charge the battery. While this may sound silly, the batteries that come with the gun are usually of rather poor quality and are dead when they arrive from the factory. Putting a fresh charge might make all the difference, as trying to fire the weapon with a half-charged or dead battery will only strip the gears and the weapon still won’t fire.
2. Fill the magazine to capacity. While low-capacity magazines are purely spring driven, the hi-cap version that ships with the Lycaon requires a fair amount of spring tension to feed correctly. This means that the last few BBs in the mag won't fire because they don’t have enough force behind them to drive them into the receiver. This is easily solved by refilling the magazine to its capacity and then trying again.
3. Adjust the hop up. While the hop up should be set correctly from the factory, there are occasions when the adjustment lever gets bumped in transit or on the field. The Lycaon’s hop up is also very close to the battery cover, so it’s also possible to bump it by accident when changing the battery. Simply reset it so that the BBs are flying in as flat an arc as possible to correct any possible issues.
4. Clean and lubricate the gun. Even an out-of-the-factory airsoft can get dirty. The Lycaon has a number of nooks and crannies in the body that can allow for dirt and other particles to get trapped inside, which causes issues with the gun’s internals. To avoid this problem, simply strip the weapon and then clean and lubricate the internals. Reassemble the gun. This usually makes a tremendous difference in performance.
5. Take the weapon to a specialist or manufacturer-approved service center. There are many airsoft technicians scattered across the United States, and finding one in your area or a short distance away shouldn’t be too difficult. If the previous steps don’t seem to resolve the issues with your weapon, sending it to someone with a little more expertise is highly advisable.

The Colt Double Eagle Airsoft gun is a realistic replica of the Colt Double Eagle pistol that fires small plastic balls, called BBs, rather than real ammunition. Modeled after the Colt Double Eagle pistol, manufactured between 1990 and 1997, the gun is classified in the heavy, powerful and accurate (HPA) series. It weighs around 460 g and holds 12 rounds of ammunition.
How it Works
The Colt Double Eagle Airsoft is a "spring action pistol," meaning it is powered by a spring inside of the gun and must be cocked after each shot. It requires no gas or batteries to operate and is fast and clean. It holds 12 rounds of ammunition, so it can be fired 12 times before reloading is necessary.
The gun uses a "hop-up" system to create friction inside the barrel, putting spin on the BB to help fight gravity, wind resistance and air friction in order to make the BB travel faster and farther.
Ammo
The Colt Double Eagle can fire a variety of types of ammunition, but the most effective are .20 g BBs or .12 g BBs. Generally, .12 g BBs are standard in competition and are a little smaller and safer than .20 g BBs. The BBs used in airsoft guns are small plastic balls, usually bright green or yellow.
Maintenance
The Colt Double Eagle is a low-maintenance Airsoft gun. Because of its small size and simple spring-loaded firing mechanism, there is a little an owner must do to keep the gun in working order. However, regular maintenance can help promote longevity in the life of any Airsoft gun. After extended use, the gun should be taken apart and thoroughly cleaned, especially the barrel and magazine, or section of the gun that holds the ammunition.
Price Range
New Colt Double Eagle Airsoft guns can cost anywhere between $30 and $60. They can be found used, however, for as low as $6. New airsoft guns, however, often come with guaranteed quality and warranties to protect against faulty products.
Warnings
Though airsoft guns are essentially toys, they can cause personal injury. The BBs shot out of airsoft guns travel at much slower speeds than traditional BB guns to allow them to be shot safely at people. However, you need to take a number of precautions to ensure that safety. Never shoot an airsoft gun at anyone not wearing eye protection. Giving airsoft guns to irresponsible children will increase the risk of injury. Accidental discharges can be extremely harmful and, therefore, airsoft guns should always be treated as real guns and handled very carefully.
All airsoft guns are sold with a protective orange tip. The purpose of this tip is to identify the gun as an airsoft gun and not an actual firearm. It is illegal to remove this plastic orange tip. No one under the age of 18 is allowed to purchase an airsoft gun on his own. Strict rules should be established before beginning any airsoft game in order to reduce the risk of injury.
If you've ever wanted to make guns for your LEGO minifigs, you know how frustrating it can sometimes be. Trying to find the right pieces to make a gun for your cowboy, outer-space or underwater minifig can be a challenge, especially if you have only a limited number of pieces. With some simple tips and strategies, though, you can easily make fun, simple LEGO minifig guns that will help spice up your LEGO playtime.
Designs Based on Real Guns
When trying to make a minifig gun that is based on the design of a real gun, you should take the design of the real gun and make it as abstract as possible. It will be difficult to recreate all of the details of the real gun in miniature form, so focus on the key details that make the gun unique, such as the shape, magazine size, stock, grip or other features. Remember that you'll need at least one location on the gun that will be able to fit in the LEGO minifig's hand, so take that into account when you are designing your gun. Lego pieces such as binoculars, hand grips and tools can all form parts of minifig guns, and are easily integrated with each other.
Custom Designs
Custom-designed LEGO minifig guns may be easier to create, since you do not have to try and replicate the shape of an actual weapon while doing the designing. Use your imagination when designing a custom LEGO minifig gun, and utilize whatever pieces you see fit. Custom weapons can be one-handed or two-handed, depending on what style you prefer, and if you purchase LEGO sets that are from a theme you want to design a gun for (such as underwater, scifi, pirate) then you will be able to combine pieces from those sets to form new and interesting guns that have the same look and feel as that particular theme. If, while searching for pieces to make a LEGO minifig gun, you see ones that you think might be useful, set them aside, even if you don't use them right then. Having a pile of interesting pieces can give you new ideas and insight into creating new and unique minifig guns.
Handguns may not be shipped through the U.S. Postal Service by individuals without a FFL.
A variety of state and federal laws regulate the methods through which guns and their components can be shipped. These regulations are in place to make sure that guns only make it into the hands of Federal Firearms Licensees and other individuals who are legally allowed to own firearms. To ship gun components and parts properly and legally, it is important to be aware of the laws in both your state and the state where the person you are shipping the parts to is a resident. Laws are different depending on whether the person doing the shipping has a Federal Firearms License.
Instructions
1. Determine if you are shipping parts or something legally considered to be a firearm. According to GunBroker, a website dealing with buying and selling guns, all guns contain at least one component that the ATF considers a firearm in and of itself. The parts that are firearms on their own will typically have their own serial number. These parts must be treated as firearms and shipped as if they were guns themselves. Parts that are not considered firearms do not face shipping restrictions that firearms do.
2. Determine if the person you are shipping the weapon or components to has a Federal Firearms License (FFL). If they do, you should be able to get their license number and verify it with the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms if necessary. If the part or parts you are shipping can be considered a firearm, your recipient must have an FFL or you are committing a felony.
3. Arrange proper shipping for the items. Non-firearm parts can be shipped through any carrier service. If you have your own FFL, you can ship all manners of firearms through the U.S. Postal Service. Handguns must be shipped by a contract carrier (FedEx, UPS etc) if the sender does not have an FFL. Carrier service must be aware of what is in the package if it contains any part that is considered a firearm. It is advisable to ship gun components and firearms so that the recipient has to sign to receive them.

Hydrostatic testing checks the stability of pressurized piping.
Hydrostatic testing is used to find leaks in pressurized piping or cylinders. The test involves placing water in the piping or cylinder under test at the required pressure to see if it leaks or is damaged by the pressure. Test equipment options include hydrostatic test stands, hydrostatic testers and hydraulic cylinder de-valvers.
Hydro Test Stands
Hydro test stands are for companies with small-scale testing needs that do not need to hydro test large cylinders. The test stand comes with a free-standing water jacket, pressure cylinders and cylinder adapters required to conduct pressurized test.
Hydrostatic Tester
Hydrostatic testers are small, portable testers used for low-pressure field test. They can test small-scale equipment such as fire extinguisher hoses, and high-pressure boilers, tanks and valves.
Hydraulic Cylinder De-Valver
Test engineers need hydraulic cylinder de-valvers to install and remove the cylinders during testing. The de-valver includes sliding motor platforms to allow for height and weight adjustments for various size cylinders.
Paintball is a game where teams or individuals compete to eliminate opposing forces with rounds containing food coloring and gelatin. Obtaining an effective, high-powered gun -- also known as a marker -- can become rather costly. There is another way to enjoy the sport without emptying your wallet.
Instructions
Create a Paintball Gun at Home
1. Use a 20 oz. soda or water bottle.
Stick the point of one scissor blade into the bottom of the 20 oz. soda or water bottle and rotate bottle until hole is smooth. Make sure the hole is no bigger than the size of a dress shirt button.
2. Any hand pump will work to build pressure in the bottle.
Connect the hand pump to the bottom of the bottle. To make a better air seal, cover the hose with Teflon tape to fit perfectly in the hole. Cover the outside area with hot glue to make it air-tight.
3. Buy PVC tube and a valve at a local hardware store.
Connect PVC tube into the top of the bottle about an inch down. PVC tubing must be 1/2 inches diameter and 2 inches in length. With the other side sticking out, connect the other end of the tube to the PVC valve.
4. Cover all of this with hot glue and electrical tape to make the marker sturdy and prevent any leaks.

Over the years, craftsmen have come up with various ways to effectively strip old paint. There is no one method that is significantly better than any of the others, however, some are preferred because of the lingering effects of dust or chemical odors. Stripping old paint is a moderately difficult task, but with a relatively small project such as a piece of furniture you can expect to complete the job in less than a day.
Tools
Whether you plan to sand your old painted project or apply a chemical finish remover, there are a few tools necessary to complete the task. For sanding, you will need course-, medium- and fine-grit sandpaper, a sanding block, an orbital sander and a damp cloth. For chemical stripping, you will need a can of chemical stripper, a brush for application, a scraper, putty knife, painter's plastic protective sheeting, masking tape, paint thinner, cotton rags, rubber gloves, eye protection and a dust mask.
Sanding
Remove the old finish or paint with sandpaper. If you can, situate the painted materials on a stable, roomy work platform--sawhorses topped with plywood will do. Sand the painted area using course-, medium- and fine-grit sandpaper. Make sure the room is properly ventilated and wear a dust mask when sanding. When you have finished, and if the surface is wood, spray a fine mist of water over the clean wood to raise the grain. Re-sand with fine-grit sandpaper, always sanding in the direction of the grain (sanding against the grain will damage the wood surface). You can use an orbital sander instead of sanding by hand.
Regardless of which method you choose, make sure you use coarse and medium sandpaper to remove the finish and fine sandpaper for smoothing the surface.
Chemical Removal
Make sure your work area is properly ventilated, then apply chemical stripper to the old paint using a brush and allow it to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Prevent the stripper from drying on the surface by lightly covering the area that has been treated with plastic sheeting. Use a putty knife to scrape away the old finish and then reapply as necessary until all finish has been removed. Use a fine wool pad to smooth the surface and remove any leftover paint particles.
Areas of Detail
For intricate or awkward areas such as carved patterns and trim, use steel wool to vigorously work the paint from crevices, nooks and crannies. You also can use a brass wire brush--the bristles are relatively soft and won't damage the wood. Use a dental pick or similar instrument to reach into tighter spaces. The dental pick will require more patience, but if you are restoring something like a quality piece of furniture with intricate detail, it will be well worth the effort.
You can sell your used paintball guns for a reasonable price.
As a hobby, paintball can be a great way to spend an afternoon, have fun with friends and get a bit of exercise at the same time. But this hobby might require that you own your own paintball gun and gear. After a while, you might be interested in selling your used equipment and paintball guns. People who just want to try out the hobby and who don't want to make the commitment to buying new gear, as well as those who don't have enough money for new paintball guns, will be your target market.
Instructions
1. Ask your friends and family members if anyone is interested in buying your used paintball guns. Ask people you know to tell people they know, and before long, you may have buyers calling you for a price.
2. Create a flyer. Your flyer should have a large headline that will be noticeable from several feet away. Include your contact information, as well as a picture of the used paintball guns you're selling. Hang the flyer at the paintball range and other places where you might find interested buyers, such as college campuses.
3. Try an eBay auction. With eBay, you can start the bidding at a very low price and allow your customers to offer higher and higher prices, competing with each other. Sometimes, this can get you top dollar for your item.
4. Place an ad in your local newspaper. Placing just one ad can help connect you with potential buyers. Make sure you include your asking price in the ad and whether this price is negotiable. Like in the flyer, you need to also include your contact information.

Many airsoft guns (like the one pictured) have the appearance of a lethal firearm.
Airsoft guns were developed after Japan passed legislation in the 1980s that restricted anything but shotguns and single-shot rifles to military and law enforcement personnel. As a response to such legislation, gun manufacturers began producing replicas of actual firearms. These replica firearms have the appearance and mechanical function of their lethal counterparts, but utilize springs and/or compressed air to propel a plastic BB toward a target.
Propulsion Systems
Airsoft guns were initially made to be gas-powered, which means that they either use an internal tank or an external compressed air source (similar to a paintball gun). Some of these models include features that allow the simulation of recoil, and their gas-powered propulsion allows them to fire at more powerful velocities. Despite the availability of other propulsion systems as of 2010, gas-powered guns are still available (even for modern replicas).
Automatic Electric Pistols (otherwise known as AEPs) utilize a battery and gearbox to propel the plastic ammunition. Such weapons work better in cold weather, since gas propulsion systems are more susceptible to frigid temperatures. The velocity of an AEP is generally lower than a gas-powered airsoft gun and ranges from 200 to 280 feet per second (or about 136 to 190 miles per hour). Some AEPs are more correctly known as EBBs (Electric Blow-Backs), because they simulate the movement of a pistol's slide when the pistol is fired.
Not all airsoft guns are pistols. Airsoft versions of other weapons, like the Colt Commando automatic rifle, Steyr AUG submachine gun and even the HK MP5 submachine gun are all available.
Sights
Some airsoft weapons, like their ballistic partners, have the ability to use a scope. The airsoft industry has developed telescopic scopes specifically for airsoft rifles, though some players prefer to use actual firearm scopes. Other sighting systems include a red-dot sight (typically for short range). Notable sights for airsoft include a replica of the M68 Aimpoint sight, which is used for the M16 and M4 by the United States military.
Magazines
Despite the realistic nature of many airsoft weapons, the nature of airsoft ammunition makes the use of real magazines impossible. The standard size of a plastic BB ranges from around six millimeters to eight millimeters, and thus specific magazines are required. They are broken down into categories: standard-capacity, low-capacity, medium-capacity and high-capacity. These are often abbreviated to "x-cap" by players and manufacturers. Additionally, drum magazines and "real-cap" magazines are also available for some weapons.
Standard-cap magazines typically hold the same amount (or approximately the same) as the firearm the airsoft gun simulates. Low-cap magazines hold no more than one hundred rounds, while mid-cap mags hold up to twice that much. High-cap magazines hold up to 1,000 rounds, though they require a wheel to be turned after 50 to 70 shots. Drum magazines are made to simulate the belt-feed systems of machine guns like the M60, and can hold up to 5,000 rounds. In stark contrast to a drum, real-cap mags provide the exact amount of ammunition the real life weapon holds.
Performance and Legal Problems
A low-end airsoft gun fires at roughly 100 feet per second (about 68 miles per hour), though customized sniper rifles can fire at over 500 feet per second (about 340 miles per hour). Thus, while airsoft is not intended to be lethal, it has that potential. Due to that potential, many airsoft events have banned customized weapons that are able to fire metal BBs, and some require an orange marker to be placed on the end of the weapon (similar to a toy pistol). As of 2010, airsoft guns are not classified as firearms under federal law, and state laws vary for airsoft guns and other products.
Warning
Airsoft guns are sold as toys in many stores, but their appearance and capability makes them a dangerous item that can at least cause injury. Always use airsoft guns responsibly and wear proper protective gear when playing airsoft games. Treat airsoft guns as live firearms, and never leave a child unsupervised with an airsoft gun.

Paintball guns require an air tank to propel paintballs. These air tanks come in varying sizes and are designed to hold two different types of air. CO2 tanks have been used since paintball was invented. These tanks hold compressed carbon dioxide and are very cheap. Compressed air tanks are a newer and more expensive technology. This tanks hold normal air that has been compressed to extremely high pressures. Although the types of paintball tanks may vary, they are all installed and used in the same manner on paintball guns.
Instructions
1. Wipe the threads of the air tank and the threads of the air source adapter of the paintball gun with a soft towel. This will remove and dirty and sediment that could damage the threads of the air tank or paintball gun. The air source adapter is located under the grip frame of almost all paintball guns.
2. Place an o-ring onto the air tank. O-rings are soft, flexible pieces of rubber that wrap around the nozzle of an air tank. Each air tank has an indent that runs the circumference of the tank above the threads. The o-ring will prevent air leaks.
3. Screw the air tank into the air source adapter of the paintball gun using a clockwise motion. Screw it in firmly but do not force the tank. Forcing the tank can damage the threading and cause air leaks.
Almost all firearms have the same basic barrel configuration.
While the tube-like shaft that runs the length of a firearm is commonly referred to on the whole as the barrel, different sections have specific names. As a rule, all firearms have the same barrel configuration of a chamber at the back, the muzzle at the front, with the section in between technically being the barrel itself. The exception to this is the revolver which does not have the ammunition loaded into the rear of the barrel.
Front
The opening at the front end of the barrel though which the projectile exits is called the muzzle. The muzzle may sometimes have small holes called ports cut into its sides. Ports help to disperse the gas created by the ignition of the gunpowder. Ports direct the gases out the sides of the barrel, thus reducing the amount, and thereby the force by which the gas exits the muzzle, reducing recoil. The top of the muzzle will also usually have the front part of the gun’s sighting system attached to it.
Rear
The back end of the barrel is called the chamber. The chamber is also known as the breech as this is the part of the barrel that has the opening that allows the ammunition to be chambered into the barrel in preparation for shooting. The rear of a revolver’s barrel is referred to as the breech, and not the chamber. This is because the ammunition in a revolver is not loaded directly into the back end of the barrel. Instead the chambers in a revolver are located in the cylinder and not considered part of the barrel.
Inside
The inside of the barrel of both rifles and handguns have spiral grooves cut into it called rifling. The ridges between the grooves are called lands and cause the bullet to spin as it travels down the barrel. This gives the bullet a gyroscopic effect causing it to attain a more stable trajectory, increasing both range and accuracy. Shotgun barrels do not have rifling as the spinning motion would cause the shot pattern to spread out too quickly, severely reducing its effective range.

Motorcycle fairings take a lot of abuse. Paint flakes off after miles of abuse from rocks, road debris and bugs. And, let's face it, sometimes motorcycles fall over, whether it happens in a parking lot or at speed. After a lot of wear and tear, you might want to paint your motorcycle fairings to keep them looking their best.
Just be sure to schedule plenty of time because you want the paint to dry thoroughly between coats. Avoid drips, uneven paint and snags by being patient during the process.
Instructions
1. Prepare your work area. Put a drop cloth on the floor to catch any paint splatters or spills. If you are not removing your windscreen before you paint, tape both sides thoroughly to protect it.
2. Sand the fairing with 80-grid sandpaper, using straight strokes in the same direction. You can use a belt sander, or do this step by hand. For curvy areas of the fairing, you'll need to sand by hand to get into all of the crevices. Sand the outside of the fairing to remove all of the old paint and to prepare the surface for the primer.
3. Repair any dents, scratches or holes in the bodywork. Your bodywork should be smooth before you begin painting. If the fairing has any damage, use a fiberglass repair kit to patch the holes, or to fill in scratches and dents. Once the repair work dries, sand it with the 80-grit sandpaper, ensuring that it is flush with the rest of the fairing.
4. Tape over the headlights with masking tape. The better the quality of tape, the better your headlights will be protected. Make sure you cover all of the surface area of the headlights and that the tape is secure. If you have difficult curves to cover, lacquer masking tape is flexible enough to conform to the curves.
5. Apply primer, using a spray gun or foam brush. A thick coat will fill in small scratches and give you a smooth surface. If you want your finished fairing to look its best, primer is a necessary step. Once it is applied, allow the primer to dry thoroughly.
6. Once the primer is completely dry, rough it up with 400-grit sandpaper. Run the sandpaper lightly over the surface by hand. This will make the paint adhere better to the primer.
7. Apply two coats of lacquer paint, using a spray gun, spray can or a horsehair brush. Each coat should be thin: the thickness should be just enough that the color is even throughout. Allow enough time between each application for the paint to dry.
8. Apply a top coat for protection and shine using a spray gun, spray can or horsehair brush. This layer should be applied in stages: apply three thin coats and allow each to dry before applying the next. Make sure you do this step after your second coat of paint has dried completely.

Plants use a complex process named photosynthesis to convert carbon dioxide (CO2) into sugar. For optimum growth and yield, plants require a tremendous amount of carbon dioxide. Plants are 90 percent water and 10 percent carbon. When other growth-influencing factors such as light, water and nutrients are in an ideal range, your indoor garden's maximum crop yield is limited by the amount of CO2 it receives. If you increase the amount of CO2 in your indoor garden space, you will increase growth rate and crop production. That is why it is extremely important to have fresh air circulating in the garden room and to add CO2 supplementation. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Aim to get the CO2 levels in your indoor garden at 1,500 parts per million. This level sustains plants' maximum growth and maximum yield. If your indoor garden is at the normal atmospheric CO2 level of about 300 parts per million, you'll need to increase CO2 levels by 1,200 ppm, or .0012. (CO2 amounts vary by the season, but the base number of 300 ppm is used for growing room calculations.)
2. Calculate the amount of CO2 to add the garden room by multiplying the volume of your garden room by .0012. Measure the width, length and height of your growing room in feet. Determine the cubic feet of the room by multiplying those measurements. As an example, a 5 x 5 x 8-foot room contains 200 cubic square feet. Using the example of 200 cubic square feet, multiply 200 by .0012. Using this method of calculation, it will take .24 cubic feet of CO2 to bring the garden room up to 1,500 ppm.
3. Adjust the controls of your CO2 tank. CO2 tanks have a pressure regulator valve and a flow control valve. The pressure value is commonly preset between 50 and 100 psi. The flow control valve is adjustable. Increments are measured in cubic feet per hour (CFH).
4. Set the flow valve to the amount of cubic feet required to enrich the level of C02 in your growing room. In this example, the flow control would be set to .24 per hour. This setting will gradually raise the CO2 content of the room to 1,500 ppm. To reach the 1,500 ppm level takes approximately one hour.
5. Determine if your indoor gardening room is well sealed. Check that doors and windows are closed tightly. If air escapes under a door, put a towel under the door to block the airflow when you are adding CO2 to the growing room.
CO2 should not be used in an indoor garden room where you have to constantly run your exhaust to vent heat. CO2 should only be used in a well-sealed growing room. Otherwise, you'll end up exhausting most of the CO2 out of your garden. CO2 tanks should be allowed to flow for at least three hours between exhaust cycles. Inexpensive CO2 monitoring kits are available for purchase online or from local greenhouses or gardening supply stores.

Paintball is a game played with paintball marking guns that fire round paint-filled balls. Initially, paintball markers were used for tasks such as marking trees in logging operations. The guns were adapted for use in a tag-like game and have continued to evolve into refined guns capable of automatic firing. Paintball guns require a compressed air or gas source to propel the paint balls. Resolving air leaks can often be accomplished by replacing a part.
Instructions
1. Unload the paintball gun by removing the paintball hopper and removing any paintball ammunition from the gun.
2. Remove the air cylinder from the paintball gun. Point the gun in a safe direction and pull the trigger to make sure all air pressure is released from the gun.
3. Turn the gun so the tank valve is easily accessible. Locate the O-ring located just inside the end of the tank valve assembly.
4. Remove the O-ring by pulling it from the tank valve and discard it.
5. Obtain a suitable replacement O-ring for the paintball gun. Apply lithium grease to the new O-ring for lubrication. Use only enough lithium grease to lightly coat the O-ring.
6. Install the new O-ring into the tank valve. Securely seat the O-ring in the indention designed to hold it in place inside the tank valve of the paintball gun.

Accidents happen easily with vehicles. The resulting damage will eventually require you to have body work done on your car if you want it to look good. After the body work is completed, there will be a blank piece of steel, plastic or bondo where the damage was repaired. If you don't want this blank panel to forever proclaim your accident, you'll need to learn blend auto paint into your car's color. The original color will be nearly impossible to match perfectly, but with the proper steps, you can make the paint colors look almost identical.
Instructions
Blending Auto Paint
1. Note your vehicle make, model, color and year. Go to your local auto repair store and buy a can of acrylic enamel paint for the exact color of your car, a can of 100 percent blending solvent and a can of car clear coat.
2. Park your vehicle in a sealed garage or paint booth.
3. Clean around the new panel to be painted with a damp rag. Dry the area completely.
4. Circularly scrub the complete area to be painted with a steel wool pad. Wipe off any dust with a towel once you are done.
5. Cover your car completely with a plastic car paint cover. Once the cover is in place, cut out a hole in the cover just a few centimeters bigger than the panel that is to be painted.
6. Carefully tape the cover around the edge of the new panel to be painted so only the new panel is exposed and the rest of the vehicle is covered.
7. Read the instructions on the auto paint can describing mix the paint with paint thinner to reach the proper consistency for a paint gun. Fill the paint holder on an air paint gun with the mix.
8. Adjust the air pressure on the gun to around 15 to 20 psi. Use quick back and forth sprays to thinly coat the panel with the new paint. Wait 15 minutes and repeat until there is sufficient coverage on the panel.
9. Open your paint gun can and make sure that it is only a quarter full. Fill the can with the 100 percent blending solvent that you purchased with your car paint color. Once your first coats are dry (approximately 15 minutes), use this blending solvent--paint mix to coat the panel one more time. Use quick back and forth sprays to coat the entire panel.
10. Clean your paint gun completely with paint thinner. Read the instructions for the car clear coat paint and pour it in your paint gun. Apply three thin coats to the panel every 15 minutes.
11. Allow the panel to dry sufficiently. Remove the plastic car paint cover.

The Army operates dozens of installations around the country. At least one unit is in residence at each base. Some units train for specific missions and deploy to other parts of the world. Other units have missions that keep them stateside, such as training recruits or operating medical facilities. Texas has six Army installations.
Fort Bliss
Fort Bliss, in El Paso, is home to the Air Defense Artillery School. Here soldiers learn to use equipment such as the Avenger missile defense system to destroy enemy aircraft and missiles. Four ADA brigades are in training and they rotate through periodic deployments. Fort Bliss also houses the 1st Armored Division and the 93rd Military Police Battalion.
Corpus Christi Army Depot
Corpus Christi Army Depot repairs and modernizes helicopters for U.S. and foreign military services. It also deploys personnel worldwide to analyze aircraft crashes. Helicopters supported by the depot include the UH-60 Blackhawk, the MH-60 Pavehawk, the AH-64A Apache and the CH-47D Chinook.
Biggs Army Airfield
Located on Fort Bliss, this airfield has the 10th-longest runway in the nation. Biggs Army Airfield accepts and services both military and civilian aircraft. Built in 1916, the airfield received its current name in 1925 in memory of Lt. James Berthes "Buster" Biggs, an Army aviator from El Paso who died in World War I.
Fort Hood
Fort Hood is near Killeen, about 100 miles south of Fort Worth. It is the largest armored post in the Army and the home of the 1st Cavalry Division and the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. The base is also called "The Great Place" because of all the recreational opportunities available for soldiers and their families. Belton Lake is nearby as well as cottages, camping areas, mountain biking trails, sports fields and paintball equipment rentals.
Fort Sam Houston
The U.S. Army Medical Department is based at Fort Sam Houston, and most of the training for medical occupations occurs here. For example, health care specialists, also known as combat medics, receive their advanced individual training at Sam Houston.
Red River Army Depot
The Red River Army Depot maintains ground combat vehicles such as Abrams tanks and Strykers. Soldiers also work on support vehicles such as the Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck. Like the Corpus Christi depot, Red River works on vehicles from other U.S. and foreign military services.

Pellet rifles come in a variety of forms. Extreme sports enthusiasts use pellet rifle replicas of real world firearms to fire shots at over 300 feet per second at one another in simulated military exercises. Simpler models, often referred to as "BB" guns, fire at only one to two hundred feet per second. Use of the proper techniques when firing either of these styles of pellet rifle ensures better accuracy and helps to prevent misfires and jams.
Instructions
1. Kneel on one knee or lean into a shooting stand to help stabilize your shot. This will reduce the natural tendency of the body to waver.
2. Push the end of the rifle stock into your dominant shoulder. The stock should press on the area where the arm meets the shoulder. Use the left shoulder if you are left-handed, and vice versa.
3. Support the upper part of the rifle's stock with your off-hand. Many rifles have grooves set in this area to make it easier to grip the rifle.
4. Align your target through the sight or scope. For traditional sights, look through the two rear sights and align the forward sight with the target. Scopes use a crosshair, which should be directly in line with the target.
5. Inhale gently as you align your shot. Proper breathing keeps you from gasping and brings your focus directly on the target.
6. Exhale as you fire. Your body is less likely to make small movements when you exhale, and this technique helps keep focus on the target.

Gun scopes can increase or decrease your field of vision.
Gun scopes can greatly improve your shooting accuracy whether you are hunting, target shooting, playing paintball, or working in law enforcement. Gun scopes work by magnifying your target or providing a marker on your target to show where your shot will hit. They can open up your field of view or diminish it, based on your needs.
Telescopic Scope
The telescopic scope magnifies your target and is the standard scope for air rifle hunting, recreational target shooting, and infantry work. These scopes can easily be added to any weapon. You can choose different levels of magnification. While some scopes, such as a 4x scope, only offer you one magnification (the view is magnified by four), others offer a range of magnifications. If a scope has a 3-9 rating, it can magnify objects 3x, 4x, and so on, all the way to a 9x magnification. You also have choices in the size of your telescopic lens. The bigger your lens, the wider your field of vision will be. This broadened view helps to track a target. The drawback of a large lens is that it’s bulky to carry. While lenses come in sizes as large as 56 mm in diameter, the standard lens size is 32 to 40 mm.
Reflex Sight Rifle Scopes
Instead of magnifying your target for a better shot, reflex sight rifle scopes put a visible mark on the target to show where the bullet will hit when you fire your weapon. This allows for more accurate aim. Law enforcement uses such scopes in low-vision situations such as nighttime. Reflex sight scopes work well for short-range shooting such as hunting small rodents in barns and playing close-range paintball. Red dot and laser scopes are reflex sight rifle scopes. Some weapons allow a reflex scope to be placed on top of a telescopic scope to give you both magnification and a marker.
Diopter Sight Rifle Scopes
Diopter sight rifle scopes are favored among target shooters. Operating on a pin hole principle, this scope minimizes your field of view so you can only see your target and exactly where your shot will hit. Because your field of view is so drastically reduced, this scope is not useful for hunting or combat.

Airsoft guns are plastic models of real weapons that propel small plastic BBs. Popular for recreational target practice and war games, Airsoft has inspired an entire class of hobbyists looking to expand the possibility of the replica toys. Modifying an Airsoft pistol to hold a larger capacity of BBs is the most common change made, allowing for longer sessions without reloading, which is a tedious process. Follow these steps to up your clip size from 15 to nearly 80.
Instructions
1. Remove the magazine from the Airsoft gun. Typical designs have a release button on the left face of the gun (when looking down the barrel), immediately behind the trigger.
2. Unscrew the cap piece on the bottom of the clip. Depending on the individual gun, a proper screwdriver may be as small as that from a glasses repair kit. Beware that the spring and a flat piece of plastic that pushes the BBs up (the loading plate) will pop out as you remove the cap. Do not lose any pieces.
3. Remove the two screws on the side of the clip and force it open. After the two screws have been removed, a stiff, flat edge should give you enough leverage to pop the clip open.
4. Remove the metal weight. To one side of the clip's interior you will see a seemingly useless hunk of metal. It is, in fact, useless, in place only to give some heft to the gun and make it feel heavier in your hands. Pull it out.
5. Cut an extended groove for the spring and loading plate. Down the passage the BBs are loaded into you will see a notch on the outside wall. This is where the loading plate catches, indicating that the gun cannot be loaded any further. Using the file, extend this groove by about 1/8 inch.
6. Reinsert the loading plate and spring, then draw back to the maximum depth. Mark the new place where the loading plate and spring stop. Remove the spring and loading plate again.
7. Cut a hole in the passage wall large enough to accommodate a BB. This hole will be on the opposite wall from where the loading plate notch was extended. The hole will create a passage between the spring-loading compartment and the open area where the metal weight once sat.
8. Reinsert the spring and close up the gun. Operation complete. Go ahead and test it out. With BBs filling in the empty cavity where the weight once sat, you should be able to easily triple the cartridge capacity of your Airsoft pistol.

A paintball sniper must be patient and calm throughout the game.
Sniper is always a popular position to play during a game of paintball. These players have the luxury of rarely being shot, reducing the amount of painful paintball hits. Although this position may be popular, it can be very difficult to play and requires numerous tips and tactics to play properly.
Proper Paintball Equipment
When sniping during a game of paintball, it is essential to have the proper equipment. While rate of fire and mobility are not important for snipers, they must have an accurate and quiet paintball gun. Choosing an aftermarket barrel that is ported will increase the accuracy of a paintball gun while reducing the volume of each shot. This will help a sniper hit his target while staying hidden.
Take the High Ground
It is often easier to defend a certain point in a paintball game if you have the higher ground. Sniping from a hilltop or the second floor of a structure gives you better vision than your opponent. It is also easier to take cover if you are spotted by your opponent. Although trees may provide excellent cover and the high ground, it is never recommended to hide in one during a paintball game. Falling out of a tree can result in serious injury.
Have Patience
When sniping as a paintball player, you have to have patience. These types of players tend to stay away from most of the action and must have long waits in between seeing the opponent. A good sniper must be able to stay in one location for long periods of time, even if it seems that the action is not coming his way.
Camouflage
Wearing proper camouflage is another important aspect of sniping. Snipers usually have to stay in one area and do not have the mobility that other players may have. Whether it is white clothing to blend in with the snow, or forest colors clothing to blend into the woods, good camouflage can mean the difference between victory and defeat for a paintball sniper.

Companies still use the strategies from each of the marketing mix principles to promote their products and services.
The term "marketing mix" was popularized in a 1964 article by Harvard professor Neil Borden called "The Concept of the Marketing Mix." Michigan State University marketing professor E. Jerome McCarthy later grouped this marketing mix into four basic marketing strategies known as the "four Ps"---product, place, price and promotion. Together, they form the basic fundamentals of what marketing represents.
Product
"Product" is the tangible, physical product or service that a company offers. Common product decisions companies make when marketing their products are brand the product, determining the target market and deciding how the product is packaged and distributed to customers. Companies must also develop strategies for the product life cycle, which is the series of events that takes place from product inception and launch through product disposal.
Place
"Place" describes the locations the product or service is manufactured, sold and consumed by the end user. Companies need to decide how they will distribute their products and services---whether through wholesale, retail, intermediate or online channels. They also must make decisions about where inventory and distribution centers will be located, how logistics and transportation will be structured and where the end user will ultimately use the product or service.
Price
"Price" refers to the prices companies decide to charge their customers for their products and service offerings. Business owners choose price their product or service based on their target audience. For example, a luxury watch manufacturer can adopt a premium pricing strategy, in which he charges a high price for a luxury product with a niche market. A fast food business, on the other hand, may choose a value pricing strategy to appeal to consumers who want to save money.
Promotion
"Promotion" is communicating information about your product or service to generate a positive response from your customer. When implementing the promotional strategy of the marketing mix, companies must decide what their selling model looks like, what advertising tactics they will use to support their promotional strategies and how they will communicate with their target audiences about company news and product or service updates.

Use a paint suitable for aluminum when changing the color of your TAC 8.
The TAC 8 pistol is a quality paintball firearm manufactured by Tiberius Arms. The body of the paintball pistol is made from aluminum and there are several rubber details. You can paint the aluminum body of the pistol to match your team or for greater camouflage. You must prepare the surface correctly in order for the paint to adhere to the aluminum. Using the wrong kind of paint will also result in flaking. Ask your hardware store professional for assistance when choosing paint.
Instructions
1. Cover your work surface with newspaper or a drop cloth.
2. Prepare the surface of the pistol for painting. Place masking tape on all the rubber details to protect them from paint and scuffing.
3. Abrade the surface of your TAC 8 with sandpaper to improve adherence of the paint. Wash the pistol with soapy water and rinse well. Dust, debris and grease will compromise your paint job. Leave the pistol to dry.
4. Place the pistol down on the newspaper or drop cloth. Shake the spray paint can really well. Spray over the TAC 8 with long, even strokes. Don't hold the can in one place, or the paint will run.
5. Leave the gun to dry for 24 hours.
6. Turn the pistol over and spray the other side. Leave the gun to dry for 24 hours.
7. Lightly sand the first coat of paint. Apply a second coat to both sides, leaving each side to dry for 24 hours.
