Airsoft Battle Tips

Airsoft battles often play out as intense competitions.

Airsoft players compete in mock combat simulations, known as battles, and use replicas of real firearms designed to fire plastic pellets at their opponents. Airsoft battles require split-second decision making and solid tactics, as the slightest error can result in the elimination of a player or even an entire squad.

Communication

All airsoft teams, including random pickup groups formed just before a battle, should determine a set of hand signals for communication. These signals create the primary form of battlefield commands. The most common command signals stand for halt, move forward, enemy spotted, take cover and fire. Teams that regularly play together should also develop more advanced signals for giving commands to certain players, identifying enemy positions and calling in heavy fire support. Each team’s hand signals will vary, as experienced combatants know that their foes may be spying on their signals from afar.

Command

Teamwork stands as the key to victory in battle. Players should decide before a match who will take the role of the commander. Larger groups may also assign lieutenants to give orders to individual squads. Only commanders may speak with tournament officials. Many teams enforce the rule that only the commanders may speak at all. Other players, including lieutenants, should act on a commander’s order even if they think it is in error. Arguing on the field of battle creates a dangerous situation and belies a player’s inexperience. Players may change commanders or discuss errors in judgment after the battle.

Combat

Successful airsoft combatants keep their cool in battle and focus on the situation at hand. Players must always concentrate on their surroundings and keep an eye out for enemy movement. Most experienced airsoft players learn to move with a very low center of gravity and use the terrain to cover their advance. Always carry a weapon as close to the body as possible to help reduce your profile and exposed areas. The importance of this method weighs doubly when moving, as enemy snipers or assault troops need only to score a single hit to eliminate opponents under common airsoft tournament rules.

Sports & Aggression In Kids

Aggression is linked to harder play.

While aggression isn't a necessity for kids playing recreational sports, it certainly helps. For kids who are trying to make higher-level, more competitive teams, being aggressive is a must, as it is linked to competitive drive and work ethic.

Aggressive Kids

Aggression comes from the will to win.

Dr. Tom Johnson, a Professor of Exercise Science at Emory University in Atlanta, says the general makeup of a child determines how aggressive they will be in sports. It's difficult to teach kids to be aggressive. In most cases, they either have it or they don't.

Positive Aggression

Healthy aggression

Dr. Johnson reinforces the notion of positive aggressiveness. "I always felt when I was coaching that kids needed to be aggressive when playing sports, and that there is a direct link between success and aggressive behavior on the sports field."

Negative Aggression

Aggression can be negative.

There is such a thing as being too aggressive. Taking unnecessary penalties that cost your team points or games are generally frowned upon when kids are playing sports. Dr. Johnson says aggression can be controlled and that the good players can do that.

Managing Aggression

Riding the pine is an effective discipline tool in sports.

Overly aggressive play can be harnessed by coaches. One way to get the message across that losing control or hurting other players on purpose will not be tolerated is to bench the offending players.

.

Promoting Aggression

Passive play unwelcome in competitive sports.

A passive approach to sports is disappointing to many coaches trying to get the best out of their players. Dr. Johnson says a lack of confidence in executing the sport, or a lack of support from teammates, can all contribute to passive play in kids.

Build A Remote Control Car With Kids

If you're like most parents, you probably have a hard time finding craft projects that give you and your children both quality time and discussion opportunity. Building a remote-controlled car, unlike playing a simple board game, gives you time with your child and presents lots of teaching topics. Below is a quick guide to build a RC car with your kid or kids.

Instructions

1. Take your child to a store that sells RC car kits, or supervise the purchase of a kit online. As you search together, talk about why one kit would be selected over another. Do not discuss price, but make it clear before the search that you have a specific limit to what will be spent. Instead of price, talk about the color, shape, speed or size of the car. If your child hesitates to select a kit because they think it may be too hard, encourage them to try it out (if appropriate) and assure them that you will help them put it together.

2. Find a good workspace where you can leave parts out if need be. Help your child to take all the parts out of the kit and to identify them. Organize the parts by what they are or what they do--this is a chance for you to talk about how the same type of parts work or are made on real vehicles.

3. Have your child read the directions to you if they are old enough to do so, or read the directions with the child, helping them to sound out new words. Once you've read the directions, ask your child what the first step is and what tools you will need.

4. Put together the electronic components and engine of the vehicle according to the directions of the kit. Let your child try to put the components together first and offer help only if the child clearly has gotten lost or is unable to complete the task (e.g, they might not be able to twist a part tight enough).

5. Let your child use a paint brush or paint gun to apply the kit's paint to the parts of the vehicle body. If using the paint gun, teach them operate the gun prior to painting by letting them spray paint on any item that won't be damaged by the paint and which you feel fine about getting dirty. If using a paint brush, show the child paint so that the application goes on smooth and looks even. Wait for the paint to dry.

6. Help your child to put the body parts together according to the directions of the kit. Ask your child questions through the process, such as which part needs to be connected first and why.

7. Let your child put on the wheels and tires for the vehicle. These parts often can be a little difficult to snap into place, so explain get the best leverage if the parts don't just screw into place.

8. Go with your child to an open area, such as a paved sidewalk or driveway. Give them the controls and let them test their work.

Write A Birthday Invitation For An 18year Old

Give your 18-year-old a themed birthday party.

If you are throwing a birthday party for your soon-to-be 18-year-old child, consider crafting an original invitation that celebrates this huge rite of passage. A teenager who is 18 years old likely has graduated from high school -- or is getting ready to graduate. Celebrate the passage into adulthood with a witty, rhyming poem. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Select a theme for the party. Then, use that theme to inspire and form the wording for the invitation.

2. Brainstorm and write ideas for the wording on the sheet of scrap paper. Write down key words that describe your teenager's likes and personality. Write down key words that match the theme of the party. For example, if you are having a "Celebrity Buzz"-themed party, you might write down words such as Hollywood, stars, paparazzi and Angelina Jolie. You will use these words to form rhymes for your party invitation.

3. Write down the key party information that guests need to know -- who, what, when, where, why and dress.

4. Form your rhyme. Keep it simple. Here is an original example: "Julie turns 18; it's less than a week away! Come out to help us celebrate her big day! We're throwing a 'Celebrity Buzz' party, so dress up 'star style.' There will be dancing and eating and games from 7 p.m. until quite a while!"

Hide Behind A Proxy Browser

While there are many uses for a proxy browser (also known as an anonymous proxy server or Web proxy), the number one use for this Internet tool is to provide anonymity to the computers using the browser. Used by everyone, from political dissidents to criminals, hackers and those who just don't want their personal information out on the Internet, the proxy browser provides false information about the end-user's IP address to those who request it. The nature and purpose of the proxy browser is to hide the IP address and you need to take measures to ensure that your proxy browser is effective.

Instructions

1. Use a "High Anonymity Proxy." There are multiple types of proxy browsers and some are detectable. If you want to completely obscure your identity, you need a "High Anonymity Proxy," which is the only type of proxy that is completely anonymous. It works by keeping your IP away from the firewall of the sites you surf, making it seem as if you have not visited the website at all. This type of proxy browser is not available for free, as many of the other types are.

2. Configure your proxy browser according to the directions provided with the software, by the browser type or by your IT department. Depending on the type of proxy you're using, whether it is a free proxy or one you've constructed yourself, there are very specific steps you must follow to configure it to your IP address and machines. The failure to follow those steps exactly could result in your IP address being visible.

3. Configure your Internet browser to use a proxy server. Consult the support documents for the specific browser client you're using (Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox, etc.) and follow the directions provided.

4. Clear your cache and cookies often. One of the ways that proxy browsers often fail is when an interested party performs a reverse proxy lookup. This allows the interested user to view cookies and other information placed onto your IP by the websites you visit in order to try to determine identity. By clearing your cache and cookies at least once a week you'll lower the chances that someone identifies you through your proxy shield due to a website history.

Build A Paintball Turret Out Of A Golf Cart

Participants in paintball "war games" take them very seriously. You can build a paintball gun turret on a golf cart and mount an offensive against the front lines of your enemies. You will need some plywood and hardware tools, a rapid-firing paintball rifle or paintball gatling gun--and the imagination to make the golf cart the equivalent of a paintball Sherman tank. The protection the golf cart will offer will let you ride right up to your "enemies" and blast them without fear of retaliation.

Instructions

1. Measure the side of the golf cart from the left side to the right side of the metal frame of the metal frame. Measure the height of the golf cart from the top of the metal frame to the bottom of the metal frame.

2. Measure the front of the golf cart from the left side of the metal frame to the right side of the metal frame. Measure the height of the front of the golf cart from the top of the metal frame to the bottom of the metal frame.

3. Place a drop cloth on the floor. Place the plywood on the drop cloth. Cut out a rectangle of plywood matching the height and width of the side of the golf cart with the power saw. Repeat this procedure to cut out another rectangle of cardboard. Cut a hole in each of the corners of the two rectangles of plywood with the utility knife.

4. Cut out a rectangle of plywood matching the height and width of the front of the golf cart with the power saw.

5. Use the power saw to cut out a two foot long by one foot high slit in the center of the plywood that has the dimensions of the front of the golf cart Cut a hole in each of the corners of the plywood with the utility knife.

6. Place the plywood with the slit in it on the front of the golf cart. Put plastic ties through the holes in the plywood and around the metal frames on the golf cart. Secure the plastic ties.

7. Place one of the two rectangles of plywood that has the same dimensions as the side of the golf cart on the side of the golf cart. Put plastic ties through the holes in the plywood and around the metal frames on the golf cart. Secure the plastic ties. Repeat this procedure with the other rectangle of plywood.

8. Tape the bottom of the paintball weapon to one end of the wood block with duct tape. Stand the wood block on the golf cart against the plywood on the front.

9. Duct tape the length of the wood block to the plywood .

10. Start the golf cart engine. Man the paintball weapon. Drive into the enemy while firing at them from your mobile paintball turret.

Build A Paintball Gatling Gun

Because of paint ball's increasing popularity, the equipment used for this sport has advanced, causing prices to increase as well. Paint ball buffs have found ways to cut costs by building their own equipment while still keeping up with the sophistication of the sport and also creating more flexibility. Building a paintball gun is fairly easy and can be done with simple items.

Instructions

Preparing the PVC

1. Mark the two PVC T's as "A" and "B." Mark the straight ends as "AX," "AY," "BX," and BY." Label the perpendicular ends "AZ" and "BZ," then set aside.

2. Cut two foot-long pieces of 1-inch PVC pipe using the plumber's saw. Equivalent pieces will be easier to connect in the later steps of the process. Insulate the PVC by covering the ends with plumber's tape.

3. Cut a 9-inch piece of the 1-inch PVC pipe.

4. Decide how long you want the barrel of your paint ball gun to be and cut the 3/4-inch PVC pipe to the desired length. Keep in mind that anything over 12 inches may reduce the accuracy and efficiency of your gun. Eight to 10 inches tend to be adequate.

Assembly of the Frame

5. Attach two 1-inch PVC elbows to both ends of one of the foot-long pieces of PVC pipe by first applying primer, then cement. Ensure that the elbows point in the same direction.

6. Attach the "AX" and "BX" ends of the PVC T's to the other foot-long piece of PVC pipe by applying primer then cement once again. Ensure that the T's face in the same direction.

7. Connect the two PVC fixtures you just created in a boxlike manner using primer and cement.

Outer Details

8. Attach the 3/4-inch PVC nipple to the "BY" end of the PC tee. Screw the 3/4-inch ball valve into the nipple and the barrel into the ball valve.

9. Drill a hole in the 1-inch PVC end cap just big enough to fit the tire replacement valve. Secure the tire replacement valve inside the end cap using glue.

10. Cement one end of the 9-inch-long PVC piece to the "AY" end of the PVC tee. Cement the end cap to the other end of the 9-inch PVC piece.

11. Allow the device to dry for one to two days before use.

Fix An O Ring On A Spyder Ts

Fix an O Ring on a Spyder TS

Having your Spyder TS paintball gun in good working order can mean the difference between winning and losing. The Kingman Spyder Tactical Sniper, or Spyder TS, is a paintball gun with a lengthened barrel and tighter tolerances than a standard Spyder Xtra paintball gun it is built on. This means that the gas system must work flawlessly to ensure paintballs leave the barrel at the right velocity so they will break. The O-rings in the system are an essential component to the gas system. They must be replaced periodically to keep the system working.

Instructions

1. Remove the CO2 bottle. Empty the paint hopper. Pull upwards on the cocking pin. Remove the Deldrin bolt. Place your thumb on the rear of the striker plug. Unscrew the striker plug with your free hand. Remove the striker plug/velocity adjuster assembly, striker spring and striker bolt.

2. Unscrew the velocity adjuster from the striker plug. Replace the #10 and #15 O-rings on the velocity adjuster. Reassemble the velocity adjuster and striker plug. Replace the #14.3 O-ring on the striker bolt. You must use this type of O-ring on the striker bolt or the gun will not function properly.

3. Reinsert the striker bolt with the O-ring facing forward and the hole facing upward. Apply thumb pressure to the rear of the bolt. Depress the trigger. Continue applying pressure and pressing the trigger until the bolt is seated.

4. Insert the buffer flush with the bolt. Insert the spring through the buffer. Insert the striker plug. Tighten the striker plug. Insert the Deldrin bolt. Press down on the cocking pin.

Troubleshooting A Tippmann X7

If you participate in paintball, you may be familiar with Tippmann, a maker of products for paintball games. The Tippmann X7 is a paintball gun that is used for the sport. When your Tippmann X7 shows signs of misfiring or is not working properly, it needs troubleshooting. Common areas to check are the hose, CO2 cartridge and the ammunition chamber. Once you've checked the gun, get back out on the course and enjoy a competitive paintball battle.

Instructions

1. Empty the ammunition chamber of all paintballs. Point the gun in a safe direction and dry fire the gun to clear out all remaining gas from the chamber and cartridge. Take the barrel safety sleeve (included with your Tippmann X7) and slide it over the barrel as a safety precaution prior to starting the troubleshooting process.

2. Remove the hose attachment under the trigger guard and handle. Blow into the hose to clear out any excess accumulation of moisture or residue that may be blocking the compressed gas from shooting the paintballs. Plug the hose back in.

3. Insert the Tippmann X7 take-down tool into the Cyclone housing bolt on the outer left side of the gun. Unscrew and pull out the bolt. Open the paintball ammunition chamber and tip the gun so the paintballs fall out of the chamber. Dry fire two or three times, refill the ammunition chamber and replace the Cyclone bolt.

4. Check the ball latch on the top rear of the Tippmann X7. This is a small piece the locks a paintball in place when it is chambered and ready to fire. Make sure the latch is flush with the chamber.

5. Turn the barrel cylinder three-quarters of a rotation counterclockwise and remove it from the gun. Turn it upside down and remove the CO2 cartridge. Insert a new cartridge and push the cylinder back onto the X7.

Open A Paintball Shop

Paintball shops should serve the beginner- to expert-level player.

Paintball shops provide equipment and supplies to paintball players. Because many department and sporting goods stores carry paintball equipment and supplies, a paintball shop must provide a broader selection and specialized service. An entrepreneur with an interest in paintball may consider starting a paintball shop to serve the paintball community. Serve the needs of beginner-, intermediate-, and expert-level paintball players at your shop. Research the market to find an ideal location to start your shop.

Instructions

1. Research the local market to determine information about the viability of a paintball shop. Look at any existing competition. Research locations, suppliers and storefront spaces that are available in ideal locations. Research the market to determine the overall demographics in your area. For example, you will need to consider who already plays paintball in the market as well as who may be introduced to the sport.

2. Write a business plan based on your market research. Define your business goals in a statement of purpose. For example, "to provide expert service to paintball players at all skill levels." Include an analysis of the market and competition as well as financial projections for the first year. Describe the business in detail, including location, storefront set-up, products, pricing and policies. Policies should include not selling paintball guns to minors without a legal guardian present. Work with an attorney to draw up shop policies that will protect you and your customers.

3. Fill out a business registration form and file it with your state. File for taxes at the state and federal level. A paintball shop should consider forming either a limited liability company or a corporation. Paintball can be a dangerous sport. Take advantage of the protections that these business structures provide to prevent undue personal losses as a result of a lawsuit. Contact local authorities to determine specific local regulations for retail stores. Most local municipalities will require a permit and inspection.

4. Meet with an insurance agent to insure your shop. Because people will enter your property, you will need liability and property insurance. Coverage must include potential injuries people may incur while on your property. It should also cover damage, theft or loss of property. For example, people will want to look at expensive paintball guns before they purchase them. In the process, the gun may get damaged.

5. Select a location for your storefront. Possible locations for a paintball shop may include retail spaces close to paintball fields, sporting goods stores, or specialty shops in shopping centers. You will need space to display products as well as a small storage area. Set up a shooting lane for people to test out paintball guns.

6. Stock the shop with paint balls, entry- through expert-level paintball guns, protective equipment, apparel and cleaning supplies. You may also consider providing a tank refill service in your shop to encourage repeat customers.

7. Advertise in local newspapers and other publications. If there are local or regional paintball publications, you may want to advertise with them. Consider sponsoring a paintball team to give you added exposure.

Fix A Car Door Ding Or Dent (Best Solution)

This could happen to anyone. But fix?

Car doors are one of the most common places to get a dent or ding. The doors are made of thin sheet metal and aren't as strong or rigid as a fender or quarter panel. Bringing your car to a repair shop for each ding or dent can get expensive. Repair them yourself the same way the shops do for a long-lasting, permanent repair. You can fix a car door ding or dent in under a few hours using materials found at a car parts store.

Instructions

1. Sand the ding or dent with 180-grit sandpaper to remove the paint in and around the dent. Sand the surface between 2 to 3 inches around the edges of the dent. Wipe the area with wax and grease remover and a microfiber towel. Let it dry for 5 minutes.

2. Scoop out a small amount of body filler onto a palette using the plastic squeegee. Add a small amount of hardener to the filler. For example, if you use a golf-ball sized amount of filler, add a 1-inch line of hardener. Mix the filler with the squeegee until the color is completely blended.

3. Wipe the filler over the dent to fill it completely. Smooth the filler with the squeegee and let it dry for 1 hour.

4. Sand the dried filler with 220-grit sandpaper until it is level with the surrounding surface of the car and you can no longer feel a dent when you slide your hand across the area.

5. Place masking paper and tape around the repaired area to keep overspray off of the existing paint on the car. Place the masking tape just outside the edges of the sanded area. Wipe the area with wax and grease remover and a microfiber towel.

6. Spray two thin coats of primer over the area. Hold the sprayer 10 inches from the surface. Let the first coat dry for 10 minutes, and let the final coat dry for 20 minutes.

7. Spray a total of four or five thin coats of paint over the area using the same technique as with the primer. Let each coat dry for 10 minutes. Let the final coat dry for 6 hours before handling it.

Sight In A Pistol With Lasergrips

Learn sight in a weapon with laser grips.

Sighting in a pistol is a process that any handgun owner must go through to ensure optimal firearm performance. Handguns equipped with regular factory sights require a process of loosening sight screws, and test-firing the weapon. A handgun with a laser grip installed is much more user-friendly, and requires a simple test fire to see if the apparatus is working properly. Typically, all laser grip sights are factory installed, though some gun enthusiasts prefer to install their own. It is wise to have the laser sight--especially with a laser grip application--installed by a professional licensed gunsmith.

Instructions

1. Hold the weapon out straight with your dominant hand, aiming at the target, and cup your other hand under the grip.

2. Depress the laser sight by squeezing slightly around the pistol grip, adding just enough pressure to engage the laser button on the grip. You don't want to squeeze too hard or your hand will begin to shake and your shot will not land on target. Just gently squeeze the grip enough to engage the laser.

3. Look though the rear sight and focus on the front sight post. Just as with all handgun sights, the front sight post should be centered in the rear sight, with the top of the front sight horizontally even with the top of the rear sight as you look though it. The laser dot should appear just on top of the front sight post.

4. Fire a round at the target by squeezing the trigger. Squeeze the trigger slow and steady to ensure that your shot lands on target.

5. Check to make sure that your shot landed exactly where the laser was pointing. If the laser is slightly off center, the shot will not land on target. If your laser was factory installed, you should take it back and have the laser calibrated to your weapon. If you installed your laser sight, go back through your instruction manual and readjust the sight accordingly as all laser sights are manufactured differently.

Build A Nerf Gun

Nerf guns are pressurized toy guns that kids have been playing with for many years. These guns are capable of firing foam Nerf ammunition at high velocity for more than 300 feet. Instead of spending lots of money on a classy Nerf gun at a toy shop, you can make one of your own with inexpensive parts from your local home improvement store.

Instructions

1. Poke a hole with a pair of scissors in the middle of an empty 2-liter soda bottle. The hole should be small enough to create an entry point for the spout of the basketball pump.

2. Insert the basketball pump spout into the hole of the 2-liter soda bottle. Cut out the hose from the spout if there is one, as the hose piece will be an unnecessary component of the gun. Seal the connection with Gorilla Glue, and ensure that the seal is air tight.

3. Glue a 5-inch length of the 1/2-inch-diameter PVC pipe onto the neck of the bottle. This will serve as the joint which connects the bottle to the PVC ball valve.

4. Attach the PVC ball valve to the 5-inch length of PVC pipe connecting to the soda bottle. The PVC ball valve will serve as the trigger to release the high-pressure air contained within the pumped bottle and launch your Nerf ammo.

5. Connect and glue the 24-inch PVC pipe onto the PVC ball valve to create the barrel. This will be the section of your Nerf gun where ammo will be inserted for firing.

6. Glue two pieces of 6-inch dowel on either side of the bottle, leading down toward the basketball pump. You can also use duct tape, so long as there is a firm grip between the two pieces. This will serve as the handle for your gun.

7. Ensure that all connective joints are sealed air tight with Gorilla Glue. Pump the basketball pump to apply air pressure into the 2-liter soda bottle. Insert a Nerf ammo into the barrel. Twist the PVC ball valve switch open to release the pressurized air in the bottle to fire.

Polish A Paintball Barrel

Paintball guns are often used and can get very dirty. The barrel is the large round metal part on the front of the gun and can be found on both paintball pistols and shotguns. You can polish the barrel of a paintball gun to remove fingerprints, dirt and paint. Polish cleans the barrel off and is not harmful to it.

Instructions

1. Disassemble the barrel of the paintball gun, if this is possible. You'll need to polish all the individual parts in order to get it done right. If the barrel of the gun doesn't disassemble, you can polish the barrel while it's assembled.

2. Dampen a rag with polish. You can either obtain the rag and polish from a gun polishing kit or you can buy a rag and the polish separately. Either way, dampen the rag. Without soaking it, get enough on the rag to apply it to the paintball gun barrel.

3. Wipe down the barrel of the gun once. Check that you get all the parts of the barrel, including the trigger. Pretty much anything that's metallic or black you'll want to polish.

4. Use a circular motion while polishing your paintball gun barrel to ensure that you don't have streaks and scrapes. It won't look shiny at first, but it will after the polish has dried off.

5. Glue a cotton ball with a narrow stick. Push the cotton ball down into the barrel of the paintball gun to finish your polishing job. Dip the cotton ball in polish to get the inside of your paintball gun as shiny as the outside.

What Makes Grenades Explode

The Mills bomb design for grenades was used until the 1980s.

According to the Spiritus-Temporis website, the most widely known and manufactured grenades are the pin and pineapple types. The first version of the pin and pineapple grenade was the British designed Mills bomb, created by William Mills in 1915.

History

Spiritus-Temporis reports that the early history of grenades is filled with simple versions made from paper, ceramics or glass containing dangerous substances that broke apart when thrown at an enemy. Included in the early grenades was the use of eggs of parasites, such as fleas and lice to infect an enemy camp. The English Civil War in the 17th century saw the first use of primitive metal casings filled with gunpowder and fitted with slow-burning fuses to ignite the gunpowder in the case. These primitive grenades were not seen as effective and the use of grenades did not become widespread until the outbreak of World War I.

Molotov Cocktail

According to Spiritus-Temporis, an early grenade still in use as a homemade grenade is the Molotov cocktail. This grenade is made by pouring gasoline or another explosive substance into a bottle, placing a cloth in the bottle and lighting it. The Molotov cocktail is then thrown and ignites when the bottle breaks.

Development

World War I saw the grenade become an important weapon with the German army leaping ahead in early development before quickly being caught by allied forces using versions such as the Mills bomb. The Mills bomb was created with a serrated casing that broke apart during the explosion to become a fragmentation bomb. Spiritus-Temporis explains that the German army developed the stielhandgranate, or stick grenade. The stick grenade was made up of an explosive charge encased in a metal can, which in turn was attached to a wooden stick for easy throwing.

Parts

The Inert Ord website reports that grenades such as the Mills bomb were designed with a water-tight centerpiece inside the metal casing. The centerpiece held the fuse mechanism, detonator and the explosive. The explosive was poured into the grenade via a plug on the top side of the casing.

Detonation

There are two types of detonator used in grenades, according to the First World War website-an impact or percussion detonator and a timed fuse. During World War I the use of a pin to hold the striking pin in place became commonplace to avoid accidental detonation of grenades. Stick grenades were activated with the fuse being lit by friction as the can holding the explosives left the stick. In the pin and pineapple grenade the strike lever is released when the grenade is thrown, releasing a four-second fuse, which makes the explosives within the grenade ignite after four seconds.

List Of Restricted Items For Air Travel

There are many restricted items for air travel.

Since the events of September 11, 2001, air travel regulations and restrictions have drastically changed. Passengers and employees are prohibited from bringing hundreds of items onto the plane in their carry-on luggage. Due to repeated attempts since 2001 to disrupt airplane travel, even more items are restricted. Most of these items are limited to carry-on luggage and can be stored in checked luggage with certain precautions.

Sharp Items

Nearly all items with sharp edges or blades are prohibited. This includes swords, razor blades, knives, scissors, ice picks and axes, although they may be placed in checked luggage. Plastic or rounded butter knives are acceptable, but this is up to the discretion of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel. Plastic, disposable shaving razors and replacement cartridges are permitted.

Sports Equipment

All sporting goods items that can act as a striking instrument are restricted to checked baggage. This includes baseball and cricket bats, lacrosse and hockey sticks, croquet mallets, pool sticks, golf clubs and ski poles. Bows and arrows are not permitted in carry-on luggage.

Firearms and Weapons

Firearms or items resembling firearms may not be brought onto airplanes. Guns, replica guns, pellet guns, paintball guns, starter pistols, flare guns and spear guns must be in checked luggage. Even cigarette lighters that look like firearms are prohibited. Likewise, ammunition, compressed air cartridges or firearm related items cannot travel with you on the plane. Weapons for martial arts or personal defense like brass knuckles, throwing stars, nunchuks, stun guns and pepper spray must be checked. When bringing a firearm in your checked luggage, you must notify the TSA and show them the weapon before checking the bag.

Explosives

Explosive materials of any kind are not permitted in airports, checked baggage or on planes. Plastic explosives, flares, grenades, dynamite and fireworks are not permitted. Explosive or flammable material like fuel, gunpowder and lighter fluid are strictly forbidden.

Miscellaneous

The TSA does not allow "disabling" chemicals on aircraft. These chemicals include bleach, chlorine, battery acid, tear gas and spray paint. Tools with edges or blunt ends are forbidden. This includes crow bars, hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches and pliers. Wrenches, pliers and screwdrivers are acceptable if they are less than seven inches long. Any items containing gels or liquids may not be brought in carry-on luggage. Even gel inserts for shoes and snow globes are not permitted. For carry-on luggage, you may bring liquids or gels in containers of less than 3.4 ounces.

About Sniper Paintball Guns

About Sniper Paintball Guns

Paintball is one of the most popular extreme sports in the United States. Similar to combat play, people from one team try to track down and shoot someone from the opposition. As its name implies, guns are used to shoot balls of paint at the enemy. The first paintball pistol was invented in 1970 to mark cattle and trees that needed to be excavated. One of the most common types of paintball weapons is called a sniper gun.

Function

Sniper rifles, like regular rifles, are incapable of rapid fire. They do not do well in battles where the shooter must make split-second decisions. Sniper guns are also normally larger than other paintball guns, so they are more difficult to carry. For these reasons, paintball sniper rifles are normally carried by team members who are responsible for covering the front-line members more closely involved with the battle action.

Features

An essential aspect of the sniper paintball gun is the barrel. The most useful paintball sniper gun has a barrel length of 12 to 14 inches. Flatline barrels, which are slightly curved, often prove to work the best, since people can shoot them long distances by putting a backspin on the paintball. This makes the paintballs fly straight ahead through the air, rather than arcing. Being able to shoot a ball straight ahead can be very important to being successful in this game, especially when playing where there are a lot of trees. A flatline barrel paint gun can sometimes add another 100 feet to your usual shooting distance.

Significance

This flatline barrel offers another benefit: enemies are frequently confused by the straight direction of the incoming sniper shot. They are more used to keeping out of the way of paintballs that fly in curves or arcs. Such shots create an optical illusion, which makes them appear slower than other types of fire. This throws people off guard and they end up getting hit.

Good snipers spend considerable time practicing their shots. As with any sport, the more individuals practice under different conditions, the better chance they have in beating out the competition.

Effects

The sight or scope is another important part of the sniper weapon. Many shooters like a magnified scope, and others will only use a red-dot sight. Some more adventurous players even add both types of sight rails to their gun. Determining which one to mount on top and which one to mount on the side is based on personal preference. It takes a great deal of practice to successfully use either sight choice, let alone both. A good paintball sniper rifle must have an excellent sight since you cannot miss on your first shot. Most likely, you will not get another chance once your location is known. Snipers do not shoot quickly from the hip. Rather, they aim very carefully and do their best to make every shot count. Thus, the better the sight, the better the chance of making one's shot.

Considerations

Despite its benefits, however, using a sniper rifle does have its drawbacks. If you are standing more than 100 feet from your target, it will take the paint too much time to hit, break and splatter. In addition, paintball sniper rifles may frequently misfire or not reach the target when the velocity is too high. Paintball snipers with more experience suggest that the velocity of the rifle be set to approximately 280 feet per second for maximum results.

Aim Using Gun Sights

The four fundamentals of marksmanship, according to U.S. Army Field Manual "FM 3-22.9 Rifle Marksmanship," include steady firing position, aiming, breath control, and trigger squeeze. Arguably, the most important of these is aiming. If you cannot use the sights of a rifle to aim properly, the other fundamental skills are useless.

Proper aiming of a rifle includes the elements of sight alignment, sight picture, front sight focus, and aiming practice. Each of these elements is critical. They combine to make it possible to aim the rifle correctly. Failure to observe all four elements will cause you to miss your shot.

Instructions

1. Observe proper sight alignment. This involves visually centering the tip of the front sight post within the rear aperture sight. Using the rear aperture sight, like those provided on military-type rifles such as the AR-15, causes this to happen naturally. Your eye will automatically center the front sight post in the rear aperture sight.

2. Focus on the front sight post. Assuming a proper firing position with the rifle, like the prone-supported position, will align your eye with the center of the rear aperture sight. Focusing on the front sight post will enhance your body's ability to naturally center the front sight post within the rear aperture sight circle. This will cause the target to appear blurry, since the eye is capable of focusing on only one plane at a time. It will ensure a better aim, however, because it allows the shooter to maintain a better sight picture.

3. Use the proper sight picture. Once you have developed the ability to procure a proper sight alignment, you can begin to develop your sight picture. This means that the center of the rear aperture sight, the tip of the front sight post, and the aiming point on the target are aligned. The well-practiced, proper sight picture is composed of two elements: proper sight alignment and placement of the front sight.

4. Place the top of the tip of the front sight post level with the aiming point on the target. The aiming point will vary with range and elevation changes made to the sights. For basic shooting, within the field zero of the rifle, the aiming point should be "center-of-mass." This is the central point of the largest mass area of the target. According to the U.S. Marine Corps publication on marksmanship, "MCRP 3-01A Rifle Marksmanship," the field zero, or "battlefield zero" of the M16/Ar15 family of rifles is 300 meters. The Marine Corps' manual cites the appropriate aiming point on an enemy soldier as the center of the upper chest. According to Luther Johnson's book, "Basic Rifle Marksmanship: For the Hunter," the aiming point on most large game animals should be directly behind the top of the foreleg.

5. Use "dry-fire" aiming practice to reinforce the fundamentals of marksmanship and the elements of proper aiming. This can be done using a small re-creation of the target and an empty and double-checked weapon. Simply aim at the target from a steady firing position, and observe the elements of aiming as you squeeze the trigger, "dropping the hammer" on an empty weapon.

Diy Laser Sight

The purpose of a laser sight is to display a point on the area where the projectile being fired by a gun will hit. A do-it-yourself (DIY) laser sight can be made using a laser pointer purchased from a hobby store or electronics shop. A few household supplies are all that is needed. Once attached, the DIY laser sight will work equally as well as on a toy gun as it will on a real gun.

Instructions

1. Remove all ammunition from the gun if it is real and not a toy. Place a soft cloth on a table. Place the gun on the soft cloth with the barrel facing to the left.

2. Hold the laser pointer so that the reflector end is facing to the left.

3. Place the laser pointer below the barrel of the gun with the reflector directly beneath the tip of the barrel. Rotate the laser pointer so that the power button is facing you.

4. Tape the laser pointer to the gun using strips of duct tape.

5. Aim the gun at a far wall. Press the power button on the laser pointer that is now a laser sight. Move the gun around as the dot of laser light from your laser sight illuminates the area on the wall where the barrel is pointing toward.

Canadian Gun Storage Laws

Canadian gun storage laws

The Federal Firearms Act of 1995 includes rules for the storage of guns in Canada. Canadian law classifies guns in three separate categories: non-restricted, which includes most common long guns such as rifles and shotguns; restricted, which includes handguns and semi-automatic rifles and shotguns; and prohibited, which includes fully automatic guns, handguns with a barrels shorter than 4.1 inches and long guns which have had their barrel lengths shortened.

Storage of Firearms for Individuals

For the storage of all non-restricted, restricted and prohibited firearms, the gun must be unloaded and not readily accessible to ammunition. Ammunition can be stored with the gun only if the ammunition is in a separate, secure and locked container. Non-restricted firearms do need to be locked in a container or room unless they have been made inoperable with a locking device or by removing the bolt or bolt carrier. Restricted and prohibited firearms must be locked in a container or room and made inoperable with a locking device, and fully automatic guns must have their bolts removed and stored in a separate, secure location. If you are using a room, safe or vault that has been specifically designed for the storage of guns, you do not need to make the stored guns inoperable.

Storage of Firearms for Businesses

The rules for the storage of guns at a business are the same for non-restricted, restricted and prohibited firearms, though the only prohibited firearms that businesses can have on premises are handguns. All guns must be unloaded and stored in a locked cabinet, safe, other secure location or stored in a location to which only employees of the business have access. In addition, the business must have a functioning electronic burglar alarm and all doors and windows must have secure locks.

Display of Firearms

Owners can display non-restricted firearms if the guns are unloaded, not readily accessible to ammunition and made inoperable with a locking mechanism. The locking mechanism is not necessary for non-restricted firearms if the display is a locked container that can not be easily broken into. Restricted and prohibited firearms have the same rules as non-restricted firearms, but they must have a locking mechanism and be securely attached to the non-portable location, such as a wall, where they are displayed so that they can not be easily removed. Fully automatic firearms must have their bolts or bolt carriers removed and stored in separate location.

Clean An Erex Paintball Gun

Clean an E-Rex Paintball Gun

The E-Rex paintball gun manufactured by Game Face is a stacked-tube blowback paintball marker with an electronically operated trigger assembly. The stacked-tube blowback design is a common and easy-to-maintain design that dates back to the original semiautomatic paintball guns from the early 1990s.

Instructions

Field-Stripping the E-Rex

1. Make sure that the paintball gun is unloaded (no hopper attached, no paint in the chamber), de-gassed (no tank attached) and not cocked (the bolt should be in the forward position).

2. Remove the barrel from the front of the paintball gun, and set it aside.

3. Push the quick-strip pin at the rear of the gun to the side in order to remove it from the retaining channel while holding the end plug of the lower tube in place. This plug will be under spring tension.

4. When the quick-strip pin has been removed and set aside, allow the end plug to come out of the back of the gun.

5. Pull the bolt-and-hammer assembly out from the back of the gun. If necessary, depress the sear by pushing down on the small lever on the side of the grip frame to allow the bolt and hammer assembly to come out.

6. Separate the bolt from the hammer assembly. Separate the hammer, spring and end cap. Set all of these parts aside.

Cleaning the E-Rex

7. Inspect the barrel inside and out. In a sink, submerge the barrel in hot, soapy water and allow it to soak for a few minutes before rinsing and drying it with a paper towel. You can also allow it to air-dry.

8. Inspect the inside of the E-Rex while the bolt and hammer assembly are removed. If dirt or broken paint are evident, use a dry or slightly damp paper towel to clean out the receiver tubes. Pay extra attention to the ball detent and the feed tube, which may hide paintball fill from broken paintballs.

9. Wipe the bolt with a slightly damp paper towel. Check to make sure that there is no paint or dirt on the inside of the bolt. You may also clean it in the same hot, soapy water that was used to clean the barrel. After drying, inspect it for any damage.

10. The hammer and spring should not become dirty or get paint residue in normal use, but check to make sure that the parts are clean. Inspect the o-ring on the hammer for any nicks or abrasions.

Reassembling the E-Rex

11. Place a few drops of oil on the hammer o-ring and the bolt o-rings, if any.

12. Insert the connecting pin on the bolt into the hammer as they were when they were removed from the gun.

13. Insert the mainspring between the hammer and the end cap.

14. Carefully guide the hammer and bolt into the tubes in the gun's body, pushing the bolt forward until the assembly stops. If necessary, depress the sear by pushing down on the small lever on the side of the grip frame to allow the bolt-and-hammer assembly to go in completely.

15. Push the end cap into place so that the mainspring is slightly compressed inside the gun body. Make sure that the channel on the end cap lines up with the hole for the quick-strip pin at the rear of the gun. Insert the quick-strip pin, and push it until it is securely in place.

16. Pull the bolt back to cock the paintgun. Verify that it cocks securely and that it fires normally. Screw the barrel back onto the front of the gun.

Inside Parts Of A Paintball Gun

Paintball is a sport in which two opposing teams are equipped with paintball guns, also knows as markers, and attempt to complete a task before the opposing team. Usually these tasks are to capture the opposing team's flag or simply eliminate the entire opposing team. The inside of a paintball gun has multiple moving parts to fire the paintball out at a fast velocity.

The First Paintball Gun

The Nelspot 007 marker was the first paintball gun to be invented by the Nelspot Paint Company in 1977. However, the primary use for the marker was to mark and identify trees and cattle. They used 12 gram CO2 cartridges and the guns could only hold 10 rounds. The guns needed to be tilted so that the ball would roll into the chamber. In these times the players spent most of their time stalking the opponents and shooting was rare because of the limited ammo.

The Inside Parts

The inside of a basic paintball gun is made up of eight parts, all playing a part in firing the projectile, the paintball, through the air. The largest piece is the bolt, the closest part on the inside of the gun to the actual paintball. The inside of the gun is also made up of the main spring, the hammer, the valve seat and the cup seal. At the back end of the gun is the gas inlet, which is connected to the valve tube, which passes through the center of all the other parts.

How It Works

In order for the gun to be ready to fire, it must be properly cocked, allowing for the springs to load and the paintball to drop into the chamber. The sear, a spring-loaded latch under the hammer, is what holds the hammer in its loaded position, which in turn holds the bolt back. When the trigger is pulled, it puts pressure on the back end of the sear, releasing the hammer and the spring rapidly pushes it backwards. The hammer releases the valve tube backwards for an instant, and in this instant pressurized gas flows through to the paintball and fires it out the barrel at top speed.

Make A Mini Blowgun

A blowgun is a primitive weapon that uses the power of your breath to shoot a dart at a target. You can make a mini blowgun from a few supplies commonly found around the home. No special skills are needed, nor must you have any expertise in how a blowgun works. Your mini blowgun can be used to fire small projectiles other than darts; for example, you can use BBs or plastic pellet balls.

Instructions

1. Place the paper sheet on a table with the 4-inch side facing you. Roll the bottom of the paper sheet over to the top.

2. Hold the paper tube that is now made together using one hand. Insert two fingers of your other hand into one end of the paper tube.

3. Twist the paper tube tightly around your fingers.

4. Tape the middle and both sides of the paper tube with strips of cellophane tape. Remove your fingers from the end of the paper tube.

5. Apply lip balm around the end of the paper tube that your fingers were in.

6. Place a dart or BB into the other end of the paper tube.

7. Go outside. Take a deep breath. Place your lips around the end of the blowgun that has the lip balm on it. Aim your mini blowgun at a bush or tree.

8. Blow out your breath to shoot the dart or BB from your mini blowgun at the bush or tree.

Build A Custom Golf Cart Online

Custom golf carts take on many different personalities.

To build a custom golf cart with parts you've found online, determine what you want to spend what you want the finished product to look like. The amount of information and the products that are available on building golf carts are numerable. You could max out your credit card easily before you get the golf cart put together. When working with parts being shipped, formulate a plan from which you can work so that the build process isn't hampered by removing parts you've just fitted.

Instructions

1. Raise the golf cart onto jack stands in an area where you can work on it without having to move it around. Ideally, this location should be indoors in a garage or shed because parts shipped from online retailers may arrive at different times.

2. Create a list of the parts that you want to install onto the golf cart. Locate these parts at online retailers using your computer. Prices for not only the parts themselves, but also the shipping, will vary from retailer to retailer. Carefully shop several retailers to find the best prices.

3. Order the parts as you need them from the retailers or all at once if you wish. If you are ordering a few parts at a time, purchase suspension and engine performance components first, followed by body panels or paint. Finally, purchase trim or upholstery pieces. Working on the cart in this order prevents you from having to disassemble the cart if you purchase performance parts last.

4. Build the golf cart with the parts you ordered.

Make A Homemade Paintball Barrel

Paintball is an intense game of strategy and tactical skill. To succeed as a paintball player, you not only need athleticism but wit and quick thinking as well. But regardless of how good of a tactician you are, if your equipment doesn't perform to your expectations you will not be successful. One piece of equipment that deserves an upgrade is your paintball barrel. With a longer barrel you can gain accuracy, stealth and distance, all for the price of fixing a leaky faucet.

Instructions

1. Cut a 14-inch section of pipe with the hack saw.

2. Use the tap and die set to measure the threads in your gun's body, and then according to the instructions included with the set, tap a set of threads onto the end of the PVC pipe to match those in your gun. Screw the PVC barrel into the gun body and check alignment and fit.

3. Unscrew the gun barrel and drill four evenly spaced vertical rows of holes in the last two inches of the barrel. This will allow gases to escape as the ball leaves the barrel, quieting your gun and making it more accurate.

4. Use the sandpaper to rub the entire inside and outside of the barrel free of burrs; then mount the barrel to the gun by screwing it into gun body.

Make Paintball Balloons

A well-placed paintball balloon will eliminate an opponent.

Paintball balloons not only can give you a strategic advantage in a paintball game, but they are fun to use. When properly made, paintball balloons will explode once they hit the ground and cover your opponent in paint. This is often unexpected and will result in a humorous exit from the game for your opponent. Always remember to use non-toxic, water soluble paint for your paint balloons--other paints may be dangerous to use and cause staining.

Instructions

1. Pour the paint from the grenade and mine refill kit into the bottle that comes with the paint balloon kit. Grenade and mine paint is safe to use and can be easily removed from clothing and skin.

2. Insert the nozzle of the bottle into a balloon. Gently squeeze paint into the balloon until it is about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.

3. Tie off the end of the balloon. Make sure the knot is very tight, otherwise it may leak. Store the paintball balloons in a Ziploc bag so that if they burst, they won't create a mess.

Noncasino Attractions In Las Vegas

Las Vegas is home to pulsating neon, clubs, showgirls, drinking and, of course, gambling. Thousands of slot and video poker machines line Vegas casinos, not to mention all the varieties of table games awaiting gamblers. But what if you simply do not want to play a hand of Texas Hold 'Em or throw another quarter in a slot? Amazingly, there is a plethora of non-casino attractions, offering everything from skydiving to machine guns to tranquil hiking, scattered around Las Vegas and the famous Strip.

Paintball Games

Instead of getting plastered gambling at the casino bar, many tourists and locals choose to get plastered by opponents firing paint balls in their general direction. Outfitted with goggles, paintball participants at Las Vegas Premier Paintball don clothes suitable for tossing afterward, arm their guns with paint pellets and hunt their quarry. Premier Paintball offers three fields, complete with inflatable bunkers, water towers and plywood houses, for participants to display their pistol prowess.

Gun Range

OK, maybe firing off a few rounds of paintball pellets sounds a bit wimpy. Especially when your body can shudder from the recoil of shooting an M-16 machine gun, an Israeli Uzi or a .50 caliber Desert Eagle pistol. And if that is not enough, the Las Vegas Gun Range and Firearms Center also offers its customers the chance to fire an M-79 grenade launcher. Before the bachelor or birthday party participants start packing heat (the range offers group packages in addition to individuals), customers go through a training session. Ammunition used at the range must be lead free. And for those looking to carry a concealed weapon, the range offers an 8-hour class for individuals to receive their license.

Balloon Rides above the Strip

Sitting directly across from the Mandalay Bay on the south end of the Strip is a gigantic 11-story helium balloon operated by Cloud Nine Experience. Tethered to the ground by steel cables, which means the ship cannot float away a la "The Wizard of Oz," this balloon can carry up to 30 passengers at a time in its gondola. Floating 500 feet above the Strip, passengers are able to walk around the gondola while snapping pictures or videoing the sights below them as well as the distant Nevada desert. On the weekends, Cloud Nine also offers a barbecue dinner and drinks along with jazz after the flight.

Build An Underground Fort

Building an underground fort is a terrific learning experience and a great chance to be creative. It takes some time and effort to create a fort that can last a while.

Instructions

1. Find a clearing in a field or in a wooded area. Make sure there are no utilities, cables, exposed rocks or roots running through the area where digging is planned.

2. Mark off the length and width dimensions of the underground fort with stakes. Begin digging the desired depth (3 to 6 feet). Move the dirt away from the edges of the hole as it's being removed, to keep it from falling back into the opening.

3. Dig around tree roots or cut them back level with the walls. Pull out large rocks and use the resulting space as a shelf for a lantern or candle. Make sure the earth is stable after removing rocks or root ends.

4. Line the floor of the fort with a tarp or water-resistant drop cloth. Leave about 6 inches of space around the edge of the floor covering and dig a small trench for water to run off in the event of rain.

5. Shore up the sides of the fort with long planks of wood. Salvage scrap wood from building sites or dumpsters. Set the planks flush against the walls of the fort and drive the ends into the floor.

6. Cover the opening with a large sheet of plywood. Camflogue the wood with sticks, grass and dirt, or build a roof for the fort. Use long tree limbs and boards and make the roof about a foot wider all around than the opening.

7. Fill in openings with leafy branches, pine cones and clay. Lay the roof over the opening. Secure it with a large rock placed at each corner.

8. Choose a location off the beaten path to keep passers-by from walking over the fort. Blend in the roof area with the surroundings. Leave sufficient room for an exit.

Shoot A Gun Accurately

Colt .45 1911 Automatic

Firing a gun can be intimidating if you don't understand do so properly.

A gun is a tool and not the root of evil. Human beings are the source of evil, but that is neither here nor there. I'm going to explain operate a fire arm accurately. For the purpose of this article i will refer to a handgun as the mechanics of a rifle are a bit different.

Instructions

1. Select a weapon to familiarize yourself with shooting. I suggest researching gun ranges in your area that rent fire arms. You can purchase ammunition at most as well.

As you are first learning it is strongly recommended that you start off with a smaller more accurate caliber weapon. The larger calibers such as .45 and .357 Magnum are more powerful they are heavier and harder to learn with.

9mm or .22 cal are great rounds to start off with. You can go out and start off with a Dirty Hairy hand cannon if you want but if you can't put that bullet where you want it you're intimidating to everything but what you're shooting at. You would be well advised to learn to shoot accurately and then resolve your adequacy issues.

2. Whether on the range our out doors somewhere it is vital that you understand and follow the 4 firearms safety rules religiously. Accidents happen when people become overly confident and complacent around fire arms. Sign up for a safety class and memorize the 4 weapon safety rules.

Once a bullet leaves the muzzle, you can't bring it back.

3. Understand how the firearm works. Its important to have a mechanical understanding of what it is you have in your hands and how it does what it does.

The image shows how back force from the bullet sends the slide back and ejects the spent shell, the slide continues backward to the magazine well and a round is stripped from the magazine and the compressed slide spring slingshots the slide forward inserting the fresh round into the chamber.

*This is what happens every time the trigger is pulled and a bullet is fired until it runs through its ammo supply.

4. Establish a firm and high grip on the gun, making sure to keep your fingers and hand out of the path of the slide. This can really hurt if you fire and the slide smacks your hand and pinches your skin.

Space your feet about shoulder width apart. Try leading off with your trigger finger hand in a sort of base ball stance with your arms extended.

You can also face straight at the target, it all depends on how you are comfortable and accurate. As you progress you will want to adjust your firing position to what works best for you.

5. Sight alignment is a vital fundamental in accurate shooting. Most handgun sights are similar to the one pictured.

Aim the weapon so that the front end sight post is aligned to the rear post. This ensures that the front of the gun is online with the rear of the gun. If the front post protrudes over the rear sight you will likely shoot high and low if the front post is lower than the rear aperture.

6. Sight Picture is the next fundamental skill you will want to develop. This means to place the sights within an area of the target you are aiming at. You will want to focus on center mass. This means to aim for the largest section of your target and the center of it. Forget all those movies where the good guy shoots through the bad guys hand. In reality he would have missed and killed a bystander. Shoot what you can hit or stick to video games.

7. Trigger control and your grip affect the accuracy and lateral travel of the round to the target. When firing you need to remember to squeeze; not jerk or pull the trigger. This means to gradually increase direct pressure with your finger until you reach the breaking point. This is where the hammer is released and hits the firing pin. You will want to take note of how much pressure it takes to reach the "trigger break".

8. Controlled breathing is critical as well. Before you get into you shooting position start taking deep breaths. As you get your breathing steady you are going to be firing at the end of your exhale. As you breathe in and out your chest expands and contracts which in turn move your arms which in turn cause the gun to rise up and down. You want to make sure that you are firing when your chest isn't moving.

Build An Outdoor Paintball Field

A paintball rifle being used on a paintball field

Building a paintball field not only provides a place for you to play paintball with your friends, it also gives you the fulfillment and excitement of playing on a field that you designed yourself. While a forest may provide plenty of places to hide and take cover in, building walls, bunkers and other forms of cover can make your paintball game even more exciting. These additions to your new playing field can be quick and easy to make.

Instructions

1. Choose a piece of land that you are allowed to play on and that has safe terrain with plenty of trees and large rocks. Small streams, tall grass and trails are also desirable in a paintball field.

2. Mark the edges of your paintball field by spraying boundary lines on the ground and marking trees with spray paint. Make sure these boundaries are highly visible to prevent players from getting too far away or trespassing on surrounding property.

3. Mound piles of dirt that are 1 or 2 feet tall throughout your paintball field. Placement of these mounds is not important; just space them fairly equally across the field.

4. Cut sheets of plywood to varying sizes. Hammer these boards to the bottom of trees to provide areas to hide behind. Boards can range in size from 2 feet wide to 8 feet wide.

Paint A Gun Camouflage

Painting your gun camouflage will give you an advantage when hunting.

Instructions

1. Wipe the gun clean using acetone. Remove all oils from your hands and from any lubricant you have used on the gun previously.

2. Choose your colors. The colors you will want to use for your camouflage depend on the terrain of the area where you will be hunting. If you expect to be hunting in snow, for example, you might use a white base for your camouflage. Choose colors that are found in the terrain of your hunting area.

3. Spray on the base coat. It generally is best to use the lightest color for your base coat. In average terrain, khaki makes a good base color. For tundra or jungle, you may want to vary your colors. You may hang the gun in the air if that is convenient, or you can simply paint one side at a time, waiting in between for the paint to dry.

4. Apply the first coat of accents after waiting for the base to dry. Use the sponge brush to paint a darker accent color over the light base.

5. Wait for the first set of accents to dry and then apply the second set, using your third color of paint. When painting the accents, take into account the shapes of the terrain. If you expect to be hiding among pebbles, paint small circular shapes. Paint jagged lines to approximate twigs and branches and add leaf shapes if you are using green paint.

Pellet Gun Tips

Up until a few decades ago, most people's first gun was a BB gun, which shoots small metal BBs. With the popularity of paintball and other shooting games came the increasing popularity of a new kind of starter gun: the pellet gun. Pellet guns include paintball guns and airsoft guns. Instead of firing metal BBs, they use lightweight, plastic pellets, which travel more slowly because the guns use compressed air or gases to propel the projectiles. If you use a pellet gun, consider a few tips that can prove useful.

Safety Tips

As with any gun, keep in mind some basic safety tips when using a pellet gun. You always need to wear the appropriate equipment when using the gun, including eye protection. Learn operate and care for your pellet gun properly, and never point it at a person or object that you don't intend to shoot. Never leave the pellet gun unattended, and keep your finger off the trigger until you are aiming at your target. Keep the pellet gun away from small children.

Hunting Tips

Make sure that it is legal to hunt with a pellet gun in your state. To hunt successfully with a pellet gun, you will need to stick to small game, such as rabbits. Pellet guns usually are not powerful enough to harvest larger game. Quickness is key; most small game animals are fast and easily startled, so you most likely will get only one shot. Carry the pellet gun at the ready so that you can take advantage of your opportunity swiftly and quietly.

Ammunition Tips

The kind of ammunition you use in your pellet gun can affect its performance greatly, either favorably or unfavorably. You might have the best-quality pellet gun on the market, but using low-quality pellets may keep it from shooting its best. Some gun sellers indicate that buying a better-quality pellet can increase both your shooting distance and your accuracy. Popular brands of pellet gun ammunition include Beeman, Crosman, Daisy and Gamo. Check the instruction manual of your pellet gun for the correct caliber of pellets.

Charge An Airsoft Battery

There are a couple variables to take into account when charging an airsoft battery. The total charge of the battery and the charge rate of your charger will determine how long to charge the battery for. The total charge a battery can take is measured in milliamps (mA). Luckily, the airsoft battery charger's charge rate is measured in milliamps per hour (mA/h), making charging the battery relatively easy.

Instructions

1. Before even plugging the battery into the charger, you need to determine how long the battery should be charged. To do this, divide the battery's total charge by the charger's charge rate. These values should be located on the battery/charger, or in the product's instructions.

For example, if your battery can hold a total charge of 1,000 mA, and your charger's charge rate is 500 mA/h, then you would divide 1,000 by 500 to get 2, which is the number of hours it would take to fully charge the battery.

2. Remove the battery from the airsoft gun. The location of the battery will vary from model to model, but its location should be listed in the product's manual.

3. Connect the battery to the charger, and allow it to charge for the appropriate amount of time. You should remove the battery once it is fully charged because overcharging the battery will reduce its lifespan.
